I have had my 1991 2.4lte Surf for about 7 months now and have travelled nearly 30,000Kms in that time. The car has done 130,000Kms. When I purchased the vehicle I had the cooling system power flushed, new hoses and a new thermostat. Last month I did a 1500Kms round trip and the car was fine. The day after I got back the car overheated. I nursed her home and then the next day serviced the clutch fan and changed the temoerature setting inside the clutch fan to nearly 3/4. When the car was overheating I noticed that the faster you went the more the temp guage would go up. It would go up to 3/4 and the go back to normal temp. Now after servicing the clutch fan the car has been fine no problems wat so ever and that was about 4 weeks ago. Today however I noticed the temp guage just start to move to about half which isnt a problem but it just got me thinking. I personaly dont think that the head has cracked because the car is fine execpt in extreme circumstances.I read on a post somewhere about putting in either a 4 core radiator or apparantly a 4-ruinner radiator fits and is larger in size. Has anyone acheived this or has had the same overheating only in extreme conditions and rectified?
Thanks in advance
Simon
