Guys, i used to use Valvoline Diesel Oil (not sure on the grade but fairly thin from memory) After getting fed up with the 'suspicious' tikcing noise coming from the top of the engine after every oil change (the oil not being thick enough accorindg to Highway diesel) i decided to change to a popular brand Penrita HPR Diesel (20W60) which is a fairly thicker oil. anyway as the engine recomends 15W40 (on the little sticker). After 15,000k's of using the oil there is a lot more blow by from the rocker cover into the inlet manifold and coating it all. I used to use an air/oil catcher which i took off for my trip south but am going to buy a proffesional one now. Would the more blow by be caused from the thicker oil not getting into all the nooks and crannies therefore being pushed through the rocker cover, or have i just got worn rings. No smoke or otherwise. Oil pressure normal to. Just curious as the oil is a lot better than my old one, and am getting the plumbing for my intercooler done and don't want the intercooler coated in oil. Also the Turbo boost sensor vacuum lines have oil around them coming out of the throttle sensor area ! any info would be great, anyone else suffer from this ? cheers Dan. _____________
