But as they reach the door, they notice a piece of parchment tacked onto the door. On the parchment is a letter, neatly scrawled in Professor Mitchell's handwriting: Students, Due to an unfortunate incident at the Halloween Masque, I find myself unable to teach for a few days. I assure you, I am in perfect health, but the matron of the Hospital Wing wishes for me to stay a bit longer to see if there are any side effects of the accident. I should be back and ready to teach in a few more days or so. Thank you for your patience. Of course, this does not excuse you from homework and studying. To my Intermediate class, I will be expecting an essay on grindylows and how to defend oneself against them. The essay should be twelve inches minimum. As for my Advanced class, please read chapter four and five of The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection. There will be a short test on the topics discussed and it will be open notes, so I highly suggest taking sufficient notes. I will see you all in class in a few days.
