A Ravenclaw bookworm
Melody sat, once again reading yet another book. This time it was a muggle classic, Gone with the Wind. Most people looked at the size of the book and wrinkled their nose, not wanting to spend time reading something so long, but Melody loved it. It was historical and interesting, or at least it was to her. She had her school books beside her as well. Melody was actually in the library to do an essay for herbology, but she was thoroughly bored with the assignment and was at an intersting part in the novel and pulled it out to read.
To someone observing her, Melody would seem quiet and reserved, but in reality Melody was actually loud and somewhat wild. She had pulled countless pranks throughout the years, and gotten away with them luckily. No one would think to blame her. She looked so innocent. Melody had a sweet face with wide blue-green eyes that had worked countless times to get her out of trouble when she had gotten trouble in primary school. Right now her blue-green eyes weren't getting her out of trouble, they were just sweeping the pages of the classic novel.

"Melody?" said a girl's voice. Alice Granger was standing several feet away, her book-bag over her shoulders. She had come to do homework.
Alice shared a dormitory with Melody, yet she didn't know the girl well. "What're you doing?"

"Hey Alice," Melody said to her room mate. "Oh, well I'm supposed to be doing my homework, but I decided to give myself a break and read some," she said gesturing to the book. "You here to do homework?" Melody asked seeing that she had her bookbag with her.

"What? Oh, yeah, I am," she said, looking at her bag. "Ancient Runes chart. Not very much fun, either."
Alice took a seat across from Melody. "What're you reading?"

"Gone with the Wind, its a muggle historical fiction book, and quite long, but I find it very good." Melody said. "Not many people like to read, but I like it, you get to put yourself in someone else's world, you know?" Melody said looking at the book.
"Ancient Runes huh? Sounds... fun." Melody laughed getting a stern look from the librarian. "Whoops," she whispered.

Alice grinned at the sight of the Librarian. "It's dead boring," she mouthed to Melody.
"Really? A Muggle book? I've never read one," Alice admitted. "I come from an all Wizard family, so I've never had much contact with Muggles, sadly enough."

"I think I come from an all wizard family... not completely sure though. I live with my dad, and he doesn't really talk about the rest of my mom or her family, but his whole family are wizardsm," Melody said. "But I live near a mostly muggle city so I have a lot of contact with them and their movies, music, and books," she explained.
"What interesting is to read their fantasy books, its funny to see how far off they are about our world. And then some of them are so close to what we're really like that it makes you think that they must be a squib, at the least, to know so much," Melody told Alice.

"I know," said Alice. "My brother read a Muggle book called The Hobbit. It had SOME real Magical creatures in it, but it also had the Elf-like creatures called Hobbits. He told me all about it, it was freaky."

"You have a brother? I wish I did, I'm an only child. I suppose I'm lucky though, most people that have a sibling hate it. You have any other brothers or sisters?" Melody asked.

"No," she replied. "And I'm glad, too. Because the one I've got is a complete Goblin. He's three years older than I am, and he's ignored me ever since I arrived here."
