Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

A Workout to Remember (open)
With a bit of a skip in his step, Evan walked into the gym. His iPod was blarring with heavy metal which always put Evan into a somewhat happy mood. At least, it was happy for Evan. He was in a very peppy mood for a very depressed looking child and had decided to go to the gym. A good work-out would expell some of the extra energy he had. He would also need it to keep up with the other students physically. Hehad heard of rumours that a Power Control class would be starting up soon. Undoubtebly, it involved some sort of sparring, so keeping fit was a must.
Walking out of the change room, Evan decided to go over to the punching bag. It seemed like the most logical start for his physique. He wasn't going to be able to build that much muscle in the possible few short weeks, or even days, he had. Building a good technique seemed to be the key here. So, in his cut off pants and an old, ratty Rage shirt, he started to give the punching bag a few love taps. He only wanted to start off slow. Practice his shuffling from side to side, that was the goal. Side step, punch, side step back, punch. It was a rythmic movement that swung to the song as the boy kept sliding and swinging. In no time at all, he'd have a style all his own!
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so? Well, I still say not thinking is the best way to think!" -Alex Summers, thinking about thinking
Knives was a lazy, easygoing guy; but he'd promised himself that, now that he had come to this new school, he'd keep up with his training. All of the other students here were strong, and had some sort of superhuman powers; so far, Knives had very little to work with himself to help in a battle, other than his dog-like senses and his claws (which were actually useful, unless the opponent had something even better...). So, he would have to maintain his strength; Knives had always been stronger than most people, especially since he'd worked out a lot while on sports teams and such at his other high school. But now that he was with meta-humans....he'd have to train even harder.
And what better place than the gym? So, as he did daily, the dog boy wandered down the hallway, in the direction of the gym. His deep blue eyes gazed around him distractedly, not focusing on any one thing. It was obvious that his mind was wandering; it seemed to do that quite often. In fact, he didn't even seem to be paying much attention to the music (currently "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC) that played in through the ear bud headphones - the only type that fit him, since his ears were actually those of a German Sheppard's, sitting atop his head, poking out from underneath his longish, brown, curly hair. His hands swung limply at his sides, in the same rhythm as his feet stepped, carrying him to the large double-doors of the gym.
Once he approached the doors, his focus seemed to snap back to the task at hand. He reached out with both hands, placing one on each door, and pushed, so that the doors opened and allowed him to enter the room. His feet carried him into the familiar room, and without hesitation, he wandered over to the weight-lifting area. As he walked, he passed a boy sparring with a punching bag. Though he didn't glance at him for long enough to see who he was, the scent that passed through his nose was familiar. He blinked, and stopped. Then, he turned to look at the other student: he recognized him from that strange night in the forest....
With a smile on his face, he approached the bag; though he stopped a safe distance from it, preferring not to be hit with a stray punch or kick. He continued to beam, as he watched Evan for a short moment, before catching his attention. With a small wave, he said, "Hey there! I remember you from the forest! Ya know, the incident with that grey guy?"

Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
Focusing on punching the bag, Evan didn't hear Knives behind him. His music was up too loud, not unusual for the boy when he was concentrating on a particular task. His cold stare was locked onto the bright red sand bag with the intent to learn. Maybe wasn't going that fast, or looked that skilled, but everyone had to start somewhere. Evan had no formal training like some of the students he had met. He barely knew how to throw a proper punch. He always seemed to have a bit of a gap between his finger tips and his palms as his mind wandered to worry during a hostile encounter. Needless to say, it hurt like a bitch when he connected one of his sloppy swings.
With all that aside, Evan wanted to do this properly. His mind was determined on making sure his stance was right, his hands were fully closed and he was moving in the same distance with each stride. Maybe not perfect, but he was learning the basics quickly. Then again, he had been ina few scraps and had a bit of an edge. A little life lesson helped in naturally getting through some of these minor details before moving on to get someone to train him properly. Step, punch, step back, punch!
Evan hit the bag as hard as he could. The chain moaned under the pressure as the bag swung up into the air. He had hit it quite far for a boy his size, about 45 degrees from it's original position. The heavy punching bag then came back for revenge as it swooped back down with some speed. Evan quickly jumped to the side to let the bag swing by. Of course, swing by right into Knives! The boy only noticed it at the last second and he wanted to warn the new comer but the words escaped him. Hopefully he would have a better reaction time than Evan did.

Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
Knives blinked as he watched the boy. He reached up with his hands, wrapping his fingers around the cords of his headphones, and tugged gently, so that they came loose from his ears and fell, hanging a few inches away from the fist that held them. Now, he could hear much more clearly: and it was obvious now why Evan didn't respond. Even with normal hearing, one could hear the music that blared from Evan's headphones, even standing at this safe distance; so it was no surprise that Knives's sensitive dog-like hearing could pick it up rather clearly. Too bad it wasn't the stuff he liked.
So, Knives shrugged, and decided to wait until the student was finished to try and talk with him. He turned around, and began walking away, in the direction he had initially been heading - the weights. But it was at that moment that something caught his attention. The sound of fists hitting the back stopped; the sound of footsteps shifted; Evan had stepped aside, away from the bag, and stopped hitting. It didn't surprise Knives, as he assumed Evan had simply decided to take a break. At least, he would have, if not for the soft "Whoooosh" of the heavy bag through the air, and the clank of the chain that held it. No, it was quite obvious: the bag was flying straight towards him! (Good thing for the dog boy's heightened senses!)
Immediately, without turning his head to look back, or even taking a moment to think, Knives leapt to the side. He pushed off hard from the ground, launching his body sideways through the air; just in time, too, as the heavy bag of sand moved past him, swinging right where he had been, before its chain stopped its course and pulled it back in the other direction. Knives was safe - at least, safe from the bag. Unfortunately, he had not looked where he had leapt, and collided with an entire rack of heavy dumbells.
He hit with his back, mainly his shoulders; fortunately, that is the safest place to collide with something, and he sustained little damage other than a bit of pain. The impact of the 200 pound student, at the force and speed he was moving, was enough to knock the entire rack over, the weights scattering across the rubbery, padded ground of the gym. The sounds of weights against the ground, weights against the metal rack, and even weights against other weights, was enough to draw attention from even outside of the large, open gym area - so it would be surprising if Evan did not notice.
Knives was now sprawled out atop the rack and the weights, his entire body sore. His eyes were closed, and a painful look was on his face - though he tried to cover it up with a sheepish grin. One hand reached behind his head, to scratch it, only adding to the sheepish look. When he opened his eyes, he looked up at Evan, and gave the other boy a bit of a shrug. "Guess I should pay more attention, huh?"

Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
Evan raised an eyebrow as he removed one of his earphones to look at the boy. He had crashed into the weights and dumbells when he tried to dodge the punching bag. A good move, but not exactly the recovery of a champion. Feeling like he was responcible, which he definately was, Evan quickly picked up his towel and slowly walked over to the boy. As he stood over him, his face was a little twisted, a sign of his guilt. If he had only known the boy was there, he would have tried to stop the bag himself before letting someone else take it in the face.
"Uhhh...Sorry?" he replied to the unspoken exclaimation that was sure to be said if he didn't apologize now. "Didn't see you there."
With that said, Evan wrapped the towel around his right hand and offered it to Knives. He may have been sort of a solitary person,b ut he wasn't that much of a jerk, by far! Evan was sure the student was probably more than hurting just a little bit after smashing into that rack of weights. He had jumped pretty quickly and the force from it would definately have added to the punishment.
"Are you going to be alright?" he asked, as much consern as he could put into his voice evident, which wasn't much.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
Knives laughed a little at himself. He was bound to make stupid mistakes like this; the dog boy was clumsy as hell, even if he could use his abilities to keep from being attacked (or whatever). But because of his clumsiness, and his likeliness to do stupid things, he had come to learn to laugh at himself. So, now, rather than being embarrassed or worried like most would in such a situation, Knives leaned his head back and just let out a laugh.
When Knives looked up, he noticed that Evan had actually acknowledged him this time. His words of apology came to the dog boy's ears, and he shook his head, causing his longish, curly brown hair to wave back and forth from the movement. He let out another laugh, this time at Evan. The punching bag was actually all that was Evan's fault; and Knives had avoided it. The rest was simply because of his own clumsiness. But, as he looked up at the other student, Knives noticed the outstretched hand. He lowered his eyes from Evan's face to look at the hand - to realize it was wrapped in a towel! Knives blinked a couple of times, and tilted his head confusedly, to give him that curious look that a dog gets sometimes.
With a big, friendly smile, he reached out with his own hand to grasp Evan's, so that he could be helped up. By pulling on Evan's hand, Knives was able to lift himself to his feet. After stretching his arms high above his head and groaning a bit, Knives proceeded to dust himself off. He wiped his back off hastily with his hands, brushing them along the white shirt that he was wearing (which didn't actually remove the dark streaks that were now left on the shirt from the landing, though Knives couldn't tell, since he couldn't see his own back).
"Are you going to be alright?"
Once dusted off, he lifted his head once again to look at Evan. With a big, friendly smile still on his face, revealing the large, sharp canines within (his canine teeth are bigger than usual, like fangs..), he nodded his head in response. "Oh, yeah, I'm pretty solid." He raised his own fist, and pounded on his chest, creating a soft thud upon the impact. It wasn't much force, so it didn't really hurt; but he was just a little sore from falling on the weight rack. "I'll be ok. Don't worry, I'm clumsy like that all the time!"

Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
With another raised eyebrow, Evan backed off from the boy. He let the towel drop, hanging from his hand to the ground as it swung every so gingerly. A look of confusion was pasted onto Evan's face, though his cold eyes were still as piercing as ever when they collided with Knives' gaze. An odd mix, but it worked for the boy covered in dark clothing. With a slight shift in his psoture, he sized up the other boy in his peripherals. The memories then came flooding back as he remembered where he had seen this student before. That eerie night in the woods. He had been there with Dango and himself. What a ghastly experience...
"Knives, right?" he asked, hoping he remembered the boy's name. He didn't extend his hand to be shaken, a normal greeting from Evan.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so? Knives tilted his head to the side again, but not in a curious manner this time; rather, he seemed a little proud to have been remembered, though it was only a slight pride - it was normal to remember someone, after all. In response, he nodded, and then scratched his head sheepishly (oh no! another adverb!) again. "Yep!" With a smile on his face, he looked at Evan. It wasn't too difficult to remember the boy's name; actually, though forgetful of many things, Knives could easily remember names. He lowered the hand from the back of his head, to hand at about his middle, a finger lifted to point, very casually, straight at Evan. (Wow, that was a confusing description of pointing O.o but I refuse to change it! That's what happens at 1:30 am >.>)
"And you're Evan!" He smiled, and laughed a little. "Alright, now we know names!"
With that, he turned his head, so that his blue eyes could fall upon the red punching bag. As he watched it, it was still swinging, round and round in a tiny circle - its path had shortened immensely since it had attacked him moments ago. He let out another small laugh, before returning his gaze to Evan, and shrugging.
"You sparring with a punching bag? Well, until today, I wouldn't have thought they'd be good sparring partners....they usually don't fight back like that!"

Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
"I would hardly call it sparring. I can barely throw a punch to save my life." he said as he looked back over at the punching bag.
Of course, this was totally contradictory to the scene in the forest they both had experienced. That voice had told him what to do, though, so could it really count as himself? Then again, where did that voice truely come from? Better yet, why did it sound identical to the person that stepped out of that portal? It was all too confusing to be burdened by it right now. At the moment, he needed to keep practicing his fighting form.
The boy then turned away from Knives, walking back over to the punching bag. Squaring himself up once more, Evan began to simply punch the bag with a right and then a left. Right, left, right, left. The combonation made a steady beat with his still blarring msuic. The loose earphone tapped against his side with each movement, swinging back and forth while his hips swayed with the motion of pucnhing. It was rythmic, obviously a practice for the real thing. More like an extremely short form for a martial artist. Then again, that's exactly what he had been aiming for anyways, slow, steady and repetative without anything fancy.
"Sooo..." Evan finalyl said, breathing a little harder as he began to punch the bag harder. "What brings you here today?"
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
Knives laughed a little at Evan's comment. As he looked over at the punching bag, watching it still moving around in its circular pattern, he knew that this other student had strength. He could tell by the powerful hit that had sent the bag flying at him; but was Evan lying to him, or was this some sort of hidden power? Knives couldn't tell, he could only sit and stare at the bag for a moment. And, of course, he could respond to Evan's comment.
"Barely throw a punch, huh? I think the bag just proved you wrong..." He returned his gaze to Evan, a smirk on his face. "That, and the soreness from that stupid weight rack."
Evan began to punch the bag once more, and Knives stood and watched for a moment. He wanted to see the strength that the boy had; after such a powerful punch that had almost hurt the dog boy pretty badly, Knives was sure that watching Evan hit the bag would pay off - something similar might happen again. Of course, this time, as he stood with his eyes following the other boy's movement, Knives made sure he was a much safer distance away, where the bag would not reach him.
"What brings you here today?" Knives blinked. He'd been focused on the punches he was watching, and didn't realize at first that Evan had actually spoken. After only a short moment, though, he snapped back to reality, and shrugged to Evan. He tilted his head to the side, and gave a bit of a smile. "I dunno, just some training, I guess. I didn't realize I was gonna be attacked by a punching bag, though....guess I've already had some good training today, huh?"

Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
The joke wasn't funny. Unlike Dango or Kanami, he wasn't someone who could crack a smile on Evan's face, or at least make him smile on the inside. Maybe it was because he was concentrating on the punching bag or maybe because Knives just wasn't the comedic type. Either way, he wasn't doing a very good job of making light of the situation. So, evan simply continued to keep his rythmic work out going, letting the punching bag tilt one way only to be smashed the other.
"I'm guessing you come here often?" he said witha raised eyebrow, even if Knives would never see it. The other student seemed fit as a fiddle, so he msut have made the gym his home away from his dorm.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so? Knives shrugged when he hadn't gotten a response from Evan. In fact, he never expected much. He knew his joke was terrible, even before he had said it; but it hadn't prevented him from saying it. Sometimes it worked, and the dog boy wasn't even really looking for much of a laugh. He had just wanted to lighten up the situation, so that Evan knew he was alright, even after what had just happened. Apparently, it didn't work.
So, when Evan didn't say anything, Knives just took a step back. This time, rather than watch Evan work out, his eyes wandered around the gym; he might not get in a workout today, but it really didn't bother him. Not much did, usually; if he didn't get the chance to work out, so be it - he'd just have to do it tomorrow. Knives was a pretty laid-back guy, and took whatever came his way (mostly, unless it really was harmful to him or someone he cared about).
"I'm guessing you come here often?" Knives laughed a little. "What makes you say that? Nahh, I come here some, but I'm too lazy to come here often." He shrugged. It was true, he really was rather lazy. The reason he was so fit was because he liked to play like a dog, running around and whatnot. Of course, the weight lifting and sword training he did do didn't hurt at all either. "Why, do you come here often?" After that powerful punch to the bag, Knives was sure that Evan was pretty strong; and where else would he gather such strength?

Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
Evan kept punching the bag as Knives gave his explaination. It made enough sense to the boy. Dogs did like to run, and with those protruding ears, it was difficult not to say he didn't have some connection to them. Knives' question then caught Evan off guard. Him, come here? Did it really look like he did? The boy looked like he could barely lift a paperweight let alone lift weights. His only true advantage was technique, which was very poor at the moment. So, for the moment, Evan could only chuckle at the comment.
Then, something struck him. A ping inside his mind that caught his total attention. The laughter stopped for a split second as Evan tried to analyze the problem. A faint whisper, growing louder and louder with every second. It was trying to speak to him, call out to him. It wanted to tell him something but it was so far away. As the message was repeated, it kept coming closer and closer. Finally, Evan could make it out.
"Kill the innocent...Shatter the souls...Purge the living...Wipe out what exists!"
Evena's eyes became wider in the instant it took for the message to be repated a thousand times over. It seemed to take hours, but the messanger was finally upon him. Only his voice could be heard as Evan's surroundings became complete darkness. Only one light shone from an unknown source, beaming right down on him. Now, from all sides, the voice kept chanting the same phrase over and over. Frantically seraching, the boy couldn't find any trace of someone being there. Then, the voices overwhelmed him, the darkness sweeping over him and eveloping Evan.
In reality, it had only been a split second that Evan had paused. His eyes wide, his pupils became small specks before bursting into an orchid fire. The flames flickered from the sockets and misted off like some sort of massive energy source disipating as it leaked from it's source. Evan's hands then lit up as the chaotic energies that spurred forth from his eyes swirled around them. The last thing to change was the momentary pause in his laughter. It quickly began again, becoming more twisted with very chuckle, and quickly with eveyr cackle.
Quickly, in an unexpected movement, Evan spun around on his heels and lept from the ground, punching downwards towards Knives. His fist was aimed to connect right between his neck and shoulder. One well placed hit and it would be over in a second, especially with the energy gathered for a good Pain Touch. Now he just needed the hit to connect!

Re: A Workout to Remember (open)
Knives blinked, and laughed too a little. It wasn't that he thought anything was funny; rather, he couldn't help but chuckle when the other boy was laughing. He seriously believed that this other student must be strong, though, due to the earlier incident, even if his physical appearance told otherwise. Knives simply scratched his head, trying to understand what was funny.
And then, when the laughter stopped so suddenly, without warning, Knives blinked again. His ears twitched a little, and his face contorted into a curious look, as he watched the other student. Something strange was going on, Knives could tell - not only by the sudden change in demeanor, but the look in his eyes also gave it away, that strange dilation that Knives only barely noticed.
Before Knives had the time to even think about what this meant, he saw the burst in energy, the light that burned not only from his eyes but his hands as well. Quickly, the dog boy took a step back, his muscles tensing for battle. He didn't draw his sword from its sheat at his side, afraid to hurt Evan (who didn't have a sword to defend himself with). In fact, he didn't even form his claws - he was ready for anything to happen, but he woldn't hurt Evan if it wasn't necessary.
Without further warning, a punch came towards Knives. Again, without hesitation, he pushed off from the ground, leaping backwards; this time, he avoided any sort of objects that he could trip over. This was good enough to dodge the punch; Knives wasn't going to attack yet, he would first guage the opposition. That energy that burned from Evan's hands was quite deterrrent; the dog boy was sure contact with it would not bode well for him.
As soon as his feet hit the ground, Knives leapt back again, giving himself some good distance. Once he was safely away from Evan, he took the chance to think out his battle plan: he would wait, and guage his opponent's strength. But he wouldn't wait around for Evan to attack. Rather than stopping when he hit the ground, he began to move, sidestepping quickly and moving around Evan; he made sure he moved at a fast enough pace to avoid being an easy target, but not too fast, in order to conserve stamina.
