A certain extradition treaty
Alrek's attourney called him with regard to a certain legal matter: "It turns out one of loopholes did not check out. The Japanese government wants your ball-sack on a platter since Sumitomo or what's-its-name got burned with your phony bond issue. I'm afraid you're going to have to camp out in international territory, but you've got money up to your armpits, so you'll be OK. You like penguins?"

"Yep, they're pretty funny."

"Antarctica is international territory, why don't you crash there? You can still get online via sattelite, and imperishable food is pretty good once you get used to it."

"How about I just get monthly food shipments?"

"The shipping will kill ya unless you use a helicopter and arrange the ship to meet you in international waters."

"Sounds good. But what about North Korea?"

"What /about/ North Korea? You may have connections, you may be on the Japanese shit list, but unless you're on a first name basis with Kim Jon Il, you are by no means safe."

"Point taken."

"My cousin's wife's old college room-mate runs a climatology lab down there, he could helicopter in a mobil unit from the base and hook it up with their power grid. If you arrange the shipments of the food and buy some warm clothing, you should be OK."

"Thanks for the advice. 15 minutes at the usual rate?"

"$450 if wired to the Credit Suisse account, $750 otherwise."

"Consider it deposited. Bye."

The attourney disconnected, as did Alrek.
