A familiar face returns
Dmitri Serbryinannikov, like in the old days, was in the library. He hadn't been seen in these parts in a year for reasons he didn't want to discuss, and he had in fact just transfered in again once more; today was his first day returning to campus. He still remembered every detail about the place; most of the books were in the same place, although the library had gotten a few new ones (which were, of course, at the table Dmitri was sitting at.) He remembered the strange, but friendly girl he had met last time he was here; Kanami was her name. He hoped he could find her again, for she was the one friend he made.
He sighed, remembering the conversation he had with her at the chinese resteraunt before he left; he hadn't seen or heard from her since then.
He hadn't seen or heard from anyone since then. For nearly a year, his world had been darkness and terrible nightmares. Just remembering enclosed spaces sent a chill down his spine.
"You'll never see her again, Dmitri." (No one else can hear this.) A bodiless voice said. He chose to ignore it, but it visibily disturbed him; sweat ran down his cheek, and he quickly buried himself in a book to avoid being noticed.
