June 1st - June 19th
It's almost summer! The last few weeks of school have come, and students will need to study hard for their final exams! Don't let up yet, or your grades won't be what you want them to. Of course, the weather is almost perfect and pristine, in attempts to lure students away from their studies.
A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend
Sean hurred down the path to Hogsmead, the entirely wizarding town that was close to Hogwarts. He was one of the last students to head down to town due to his Prefect duties. He had to make sure that everything was going smoothly as the age appropriate, eager students were let loose from the castle.
As he walked down the path he zipped up his black northface, pulling it closer to him. He knew he should of changed before he came down. He felt dressed up in his tan kackies but there was nothing really he could do about it at the moment. As a burst of wind shot Sean in the face he definantly wished he had worn a warmer top. The northface was warm enough but the short sleeved white collared shirt wasn't cutting it.
It was definantly still winter, as much as everyone hoped the splatters of sunshine was really the coming of Spring. No, Winter wanted to let everyone know that it was still in town and was going to stay as long as it liked. Although it did appear that the battle between the seasons was being slowly won by Spring. The temperature was slowly rising and the snow was beginning to melt.
When it had first started to snow Sean was excited. But after a month of it, he just wanted to curse it. He wasn't really use the cold. Ever since he lived in Australia he just fell in love with the warmth and the sunshine. The seventh year was definantly ready for that.
But Hogwarts did have its perks, Lynn being one of them. For the last couple of weeks Hogwarts had definantly improved. Everything seemed perfect. Sean had even stopped thinking about Kim, the girl he had liked and was sort of with in New Zealand. He had yet to tell her about Lynn. She still thought there was hope for them.
But at the thoughts of Lynn Sean's pace quickened. He just knew he was going to be late. He hated being late. Sean was rather a stickler on punctuality. He would also hate to keep Lynn waiting. They were suppose to be meeting at the center of the town. He couldn't wait to see her. He loved his Prefect duties, he felt he was doing some good, but at the moment he really just wanted to see his girlfriend.
Lynn leaped out of bed that morning, entirely excited about the day ahead of her. She and Sean had made plans to go to Hogsmeade together and, though there were a few hours yet until they'd agreed to meet, she had a few things still to do. Grinning, she grabbed a sky-blue mockneck from her trunk and complemented it with blue jeans, an old red varsity jacket from her mum's university days and hiking boots. Add her black hat with white snowflakes and a black tassel to it, and she had her ideal outfit for a day with her boyfriend.
She couldn't help but giggle occasionally. Sean made her giddy -- heck, the whole idea of having someone look forward to seeing her made her giddy. These past few weeks had been absolutely magnificent. There was no other way to describe it. Humming to herself, she zipped down to the Great Hall and ate some brunch, did a bit of her homework, then ran through the halls so she could head down to Hogsmeade.
Though she had planned to be early, she was a few minutes late. She waved to a few people that she knew and smiled at them, but didn't stop. With her luck, he would already be there, and --
Nope. This was her lucky day. There he was up ahead. She wasn't the only one to be a bit late. Grinning even further, she sprinted the last metres between them and leapt forward, grabbing his arm with a joyous, "Hiya!"
Today was going to be excellent. She just knew it.
"So I'm not the only one to be distracted today, am I?" she said, smiling over at him.
Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend
Hogsmead was really a lovely place. It was so beautiful during all the different seasons. During fall the streets were littered with different colored leaves, during the Winter snow made the small town sparkle, and Spring the flowers all around would start to bloom.
The town was the oportune place for students to enjoy a weekend from the Hogwarts grounds. It was also the oportune time for a date. It was hard to go on dates at school, it wasn't much fun. But this gave the different couples a chance to get out and do something fun and different.
Sean was nearing the end of the path, almost entering the city when he heard someone coming up from behind him. He was extremely surprised when he was nearly jumped on and heard a shout of "Hiya!". Nearly stumbling Sean looked at the girl grabbing onto his arm.
"Hiya" Sean said with a smiling, wrapping a arm around his girlfriends shouldars. "That was a pleasant surprise. Someone must be in a good mood" He kissed Lynn quickly on the lips before she started to speak again.
"So I'm not the only one to be distracted today, am I?"
The seventh year chuckled. "I suppose not" He said, giving her a shrug which was accompanied with an innocent look on the face. "Prefect duties are so distracting" He said simply. He was definantly inwardly sighing with relief. He would of hated being late and making Lynn wait.
"So you know where you want to go?" He asked her. "I want to buy you something" Sean was going to fight Lynn for this if she argued against it. He wanted to do something nice for Lynn and the pocketfull of galleons he had was screaming her name
Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend
Lynn loved Hogsmeade, it was true. In her earlier years at Hogwarts, when she had preferred her own company to that of others, she had counted down the weeks until that fateful day where she could finally go to Hogsmeade. She used to watch the older students go, sighing and annoyed that they had a different place to go … instead, she had to make do with the Great Hall or the Lake if she wanted to go off somewhere and read. She couldn’t fault those places, of course, but it got boring after a while.
She still remembered her first time at Hogsmeade. A young third-year, she’d gone alone and gawked the entire way. After exploring some of the shops, she’d staked out a table in Madame Puddifoot’s, where most students didn’t dare to show up – either that, or they were too distracted by their significant other if they were there – and enjoyed the solitude and gentle murmurs of the other patrons.
She hadn’t gone there lately. She would have to make it a point to go, alone, at some point. Much as she liked the company of her friends and, Merlin only knew, Sean, Lynn still had her days where she much enjoyed the buzzing of her brain. Still, today was a day to enjoy companionship; this was a first for them, as a couple, and a first for her as a person; she had never come here before with anyone other than her friends.
"Hiya" Sean said with a smiling, wrapping a arm around his girlfriends shouldars. "That was a pleasant surprise. Someone must be in a good mood"
“Well, I’m with you, aren’t I? That should be explanation enough,” she said, relaxing against his side as they continued to walk towards Hogsmeade. She liked how he snuck a quick kiss in before she could speak again.
"I suppose not" He said, giving her a shrug which was accompanied with an innocent look on the face. "Prefect duties are so distracting"
“I’m sure they are,” she said, admiring the innocent look on his face. His ‘studies’ were coming along nicely; though she’d never seen Sean as stiff, even she had to admit that he had vastly loosened up in the scant time that they had been together. Everything seemed to be moving so quickly, but not in a bad way. It seemed like only yesterday that they were walking back from the library, and yet they had confessed their love to each other.
"So you know where you want to go?" He asked her. "I want to buy you something"
Surprised, she faltered slightly before recovering her balance. Lynn slipped her arm around his waist as she thought about this. She knew that, morally, she shouldn’t let him … but he sounded so sincere. Not only did she really want to let him buy her something – for sentimental reasons, of course – but she was positive that if she refused, she would hurt his feelings.
“I really shouldn’t let you,” she said finally, smiling up at him as they came to the road that ran between the various shops and cafés of Hogsmeade. “But since you insist, I suppose we could make a stop in there.” With her free hand, she pointed to a bookstore that was just a little ways up. She had spent many a splendid hour there, perusing both the magical and muggle books the store had in stock.
Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend“Well, I’m with you, aren’t I? That should be explanation enough,”
As Lynn leaned against Sean he smiled down at her. "I suppose so" he said to her. Of all the Hogsmead trips Sean felt, no he knew, that this was going to be the best one yet. He would be getting to spend the entire day with Lynn. They were going somewhere new for a change, to the most popular place for Hogwarts students. Hogsmead was the ideal place for couples to go to on the weekends. It definantly served better than the castle that lost its appeal so quickly.
Many a times Sean had come. He had come with his friends, just spending the day relaxing, shopping, doing whatever they felt like. In New Zealand and Australia they got to go into town. But those were manly muggle towns. None of them had beem quite like Hogsmead. It felt good to be in an all wizarding town.
“I’m sure they are,”
Sean looked back at Lynn, smiled and flicked the tassle on her hat lightly before looking back at the road ahead. He was seeing more students now. It was a good thing too. Now he felt like he hadn't had to stay behind much longer than everyone else. He wanted to get in as much time in as he could in town.
As Sean told Lynn that he wanted to buy her something. He didn't really know how she would react. There were three types of girls when it came to guys buying stuff for them. One would immediatly refuse to allow, one would immediatly take the offer, and the third one would fight the offer and would either win or loose, of course.
He felt Lynn falter slightly but then she placed an arm around him and he knew that everything was going to be all right.
“I really shouldn’t let you,” she said finally, smiling up at him as they came to the road that ran between the various shops and cafés of Hogsmeade. “But since you insist, I suppose we could make a stop in there.”
So she was a number three. It worked for Sean. "Great" Sean said in a business like manner as he looked in the direction that Lynn was pointing at. He saw that her finger was directed at the bookstore.
"Well let's go then." He told her with a smile. The day was Lynn's. Whatever she wanted she would get. Grabbing her hand her lead her towards the store, weaving inbetweem the numerous students and town's occupants. Reaching the door he held it open for Lynn, allowing her to go in first.
As soon as he opened the door a slightly musk smell escaped. As he looked in he found tons of shelves stocked full with books of many kinds. It was probably heaven to a girl like Lynn. Sweeping a hand, taking in all the books Sean beckoned Lynn to have a look around. "Go to town." He told her, positively beaming at her.
Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend"Well let's go then."
With a grin a mile-wide spread across her face, Lynn allowed Sean to lead her towards the store and forge a path between the other students and Hogsmeade visitors of the day. She loved it here. It was particularly beautiful in the winter, she found, after a fresh snowfall; unfortunately, she’d missed most of her opportunities there recently, between being in the hospital wing and in the train wreck and all that … yes, many things had changed over the past month or so.
Of course, she wasn’t even going to think about that other pathetic life form in her life … he’d barely shown his face around her lately, and he called her his best friend! Pah … you didn’t not visit a friend in the Hospital Wing and then ignore her afterwards and then expect to go on as normal. Not that he had made any moves in that direction. No, she had barely said ‘hello’ to Romeo McAllister in the past few months. Bloody git. Maybe she was better off without him.
But, confound it all, she missed him!
Shocked back to the present by a rush of warm air and a musky scent, Lynn slipped through the door that Sean held open for her with a smile, taking a moment to stamp her feet at the door. Even magically, cleaning could be a bother. She didn’t want to create extra work for whoever’s job it was to clean the store after-hours. Taking her hat off, she glanced up at Sean and allowed the infectious warmth of his beaming smile to fill her up, head to toe.
"Go to town."
“All right then,” she said, contemplating where she should go first. Then she thought of something, and turned to face him. “Just a warning, you might want to find a book that interests you. I’m not particularly fascinating to follow around in a bookstore; rather boring, actually. I meander, and there’s no rhyme or reason to where I’ll go next.” With a quick smile, Lynn gave him a soft kiss and then headed towards the section on tales of muggle lore, and how it related to the wizarding world.
Her first time in here, she had been fascinated to realize how much of what she had once taken for granted as a Muggle child in history had actually been affected by wizardry. Always a fanatic of learning everything she could about history, Lynn had devoured everything she could on the subject, and had quickly become a walking encyclopaedia of both Muggle and Magical history.
Picking up a rather thick book, she hefted it into her arms, flipped open the cover, and began to read.

Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend
Hogsmead was one of the first times that Lynn and Sean would be in public together. He felt like some celebrity, having to hide their relationship and having had to wait to "go public". But what could he say, it was an exciting relationship. Sean never knew what was going to happen next, this was certainly different than any other situation that he had been involved in.
As he walked hand in hand with Lynn he felt so alive. The fresh air felt good. He was just ready for a day with Lynn. Hogsmead seemed better than ever, Sean didn't even mind how crowded it was. As long as he was able to spend the time here with Lynn than it would be a satisfactory visit.
“Just a warning, you might want to find a book that interests you. I’m not particularly fascinating to follow around in a bookstore; rather boring, actually. I meander, and there’s no rhyme or reason to where I’ll go next.”
Sean just smiled. "Spiratic is always a good thing" He told her, before she gave him a quick kiss and headed off, lost in the sea of books. Sean watched her back as she walked off. Even though a book store wasn't the most exciting thing as long as it made Lynn happy, Sean was happy.
Heeding to Lynn's suggestion Sean allowed her some "alone" time in the store. He didn't the bookstore as well as the one in Diagon Alley so Sean just wandered around until he found a section that suited his interests.
Walking among the shelves he found a book that looked interesting and grabbed it off the shelf. Of course the place he would find interest would be a quidditch section. He found a book by one of his favorite authors Kennilworthy Whisp. This one was called. "The wonder of the Wigtown Wanderers". For a couple of minutes Sean flipped through the creaseless pages. Snapping it shut he decided that this one was worth a try.
He wondered how Lynn was doing, if she had found anything interesting yet. He gave her a couple of more minutes by herself and then walked up to her, wrapping his arms around her from behind and kissing her on the cheek. "Find anything you like?" If she wasn't done than he would give her more space, if she was ready to check out than that worked for him.
Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend
Humming an old U2 song, she flipped through the pages of the book and then placed it back on the shelf almost as quickly as she had picked it up. It was all right, she supposed, but not fantastic. Picking up the one next to it, she flipped through swiftly, then through another, another, until finally she had made her way along the entire shelf. Why was it that nothing was pulling at her? Sighing, she made up her mind to give up, find Sean and tell him that they would have to find somewhere else, when she spotted something.
It wasn’t a very large book, mass paperback size, but it was thick; smiling, she knew before she opened it that this would be it. Flipping through it just to be sure, she allowed herself to be enveloped in the story of Ivanhoe. She’d read it as a young girl, but she had never read the Wizarding take on it. It looked like it would make a fascinating read. Smiling, she closed it and checked the price. Perfect! Not too little so that Sean would think that she was purposely choosing something inexpensive, and not such much that she would be taking advantage. This was really a generous offer he had made, and she didn’t want to fumble it.
Suddenly, she felt arms slip around her from behind and a kiss on the cheek. Smiling, she relaxed into Sean’s grip and closed her eyes. What was it about being held from behind that was so innocent and yet so intimate at the same time? She’d always loved this. "Find anything you like?" “Other than being held like this?” Lynn smiled and handed him the book over her shoulder. She didn’t want to move. “I really appreciate this, love.”
What could she do for him? She would let him decide. “It’s your turn after this, by the way. We can do anything that you want, be it getting something to eat, sitting on a bench or whatever it is. And if money is involved, it’s my treat.”

Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend
Sean was amazed at how long girls could shop for. He had spent countless good surfing hours with girls who wanted to shop instead. He had seen many different shoppers. Some would buy anything the instant they saw it while others were picky. Sean couldn't imagine spending so much money on shoes and clothing like they did.
He was glad that he and Lynn shared some of the same interests, books being one of them. Sometimes a curling up with a good book was perfect for a moment. The Prefect could often be found reading a book. He could be found any where; in his dorm, in the library, common room....anywhere, as well as anytime.
Sean also appreciated the fact that he and Lynn didn't argue. A lot of couples would spend some time figuring out how to spend their time together, especially what to do at Hogsmead. Sean and Lynn just sort of went with the flow. Whatever happened, happened.
The seventh year didn't mind a little PDA. He wasn't saying that he would just make out and grope someone in public like some people did but some PDA was good. It felt so nice and comfortable with Lynn in his arms. He didn't care who saw them like this.
“Other than being held like this?” Sean just smiled from behind Lynn. He liked hearing that. It was very comforting. Not that he had any worries about the relationship but he liked to hear how she felt about things.
Accepting the book that Lynn was passing over to him Sean took a peak at it and nodded in approval.
“I really appreciate this, love.”
"No problem." Sean replied simply.
“It’s your turn after this, by the way. We can do anything that you want, be it getting something to eat, sitting on a bench or whatever it is. And if money is involved, it’s my treat.”
"Ever so generous" Sean whispered in her ear. He then grabbed her hand, spun her around to face him and gave her a quick kiss on the forhead. "Well then let's go pay and then" He paused for a moment, "Then I'll think of something to do."
Leading her over to the counter he tapped the bell a couple of times and the cashier came to them immediatly. He slapped down the correct amount of gold and then turned back to Lynn. "Care to join me at The Three Broomstick's?" He asked her, holding out an arm for her, the bag of books in his hand.
Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend"Ever so generous"
Lynn smiled as he whispered in her ear and then spun her around to face him, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead. It was a pleasant change to be able to show affection in public, or to have that opportunity. She and her other ‘dates’ had never made it to Hogsmeade. Once, she had held out hope that she might with one of them … but he had other ideas.
"Well then let's go pay and then" He paused for a moment, "Then I'll think of something to do."
Nodding, she followed him over to the counter and smiled broadly at the cashier as Sean paid for the books. She had met the girl before, and knew her quite well. Allowing a quick wave in goodbye, she slipped her arm through Sean’s as he asked her about the Three Broomsticks.
“Sounds like a pleasant change to me,” she said, heading out the door with her arm linked through his. “I’ve hardly ever been in there.” That would probably be a bit of a shock to him. After all, few people knew her hiding place, and that was how she wanted it to be. She didn’t want people to start showing up when she didn’t want them to. After all, Madam Puddifoot’s was one of her only remaining refuges when she was at Hogwarts. If she didn’t have some silence every once in a while, she’d probably go stark raving mad.
“So what did you get?” Lynn said, glancing up at him as they entered the Three Broomsticks. A rush of sound and heat flew over them, and she let go of his arm so they could navigate through the crowd more easily. “For a book, I mean.”

Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend“Sounds like a pleasant change to me,” she said, heading out the door with her arm linked through his. “I’ve hardly ever been in there.”
As Sean held the door for Lynn as they exited back into the buisy street he couldn't help but have a semi-shocked look on his face at this news. She had hardly ever been to The Three Broomsticks? That was probably the most popular place in Hogsmead.
Once Lynn was out the door, however, Sean rejoined his arm with Lynn's and lead the way to The Three Broomsticks. "Well at then this is as good a time as ever to go." He responded, looking at Lynn. As the pair made their way down the road Sean saw a couple of people he was well acquanted with, waved to them, but continued on with Lynn.
It wasn't too far a distance to their destination. Due to the excessive amount of students in the town today it took a bit more time to get to The Three Broomsticks than usual. But they reached it eventually, luckily it didn't take too much extra time.
The popular eatery was well warmed, Sean found it very welcoming and cozy. All though it was crowded as usual it was a scene he well liked. You could be in the crowded building but yet get lost in conversation and feel as though the abundance of people surrounding you were not really there.
It was a crowded affair as he and Lynn made their way to an empty table, with Lynn asking, “So what did you get.... “For a book, I mean.”
"It was a quidditch book called "The wonder of the Wigtown Wanderes. Sounded interesting enough, ah here we go." Sean found an empty table by a window as well as the fireplace. He pulled a seat out for Lynn and then took his seat across from her. "This is nice" He told her casually as he looked around. He unzipped his jacket, took it off in one fluid motion and placed it in his lap. He was instantly colder but he knew the fire would warm him up a bit.
"Well the bookstore was a success. Hopefully it will be here too." He told her with a grin. Reaching across the table he placed a hand on one of Lynn's cheek gently, he then leaned forward and gave her a light peck on the lips. Pulling himself away he leaned back and told Lynn sincerly, "Thank's for coming with me today, it wouldn't of been as fun if you hadn't.You look beautiful by the way."

"Well at then this is as good a time as ever to go."
Indeed, it was; she had to admit that she wasn’t really partial the rowdy and rambunctious crowds that she knew were bound to be at the Three Broomsticks, but it would be an interesting experience, all in all. Besides, maybe she could just concentrate on Sean … she would try, anyway, despite the fact that she loved to observe people. It was part of being a writer.
As they neared the Three Broomsticks, Lynn braced herself for the transition from the buzz of conversation outside to the blast of chaos inside, and so wasn’t overwhelmed when she stepped through the door. Chances were that she would have a headache by the end of their time in Hogsmeade, but it would be worth it. Crowded or no, the Three Broomsticks really was a lovely place.
She followed him to an empty table, concentrating hard on his response to her question. "It was a quidditch book called "The wonder of the Wigtown Wanderes. Sounded interesting enough, ah here we go." Lynn smiled; she had had a feeling that Sean would be interested in a book about Quidditch. He was one of the more intellectual boys around Hogwarts, but it seemed like none of them could resist the sport!
When she realized that their table was by the fireplace as well as by the window, Lynn beamed and shrugged out of her coat. “You’re a godsend, Sean,” she said, grinning as she sat down in the chair he pulled out for her. When he said, "This is nice" she nodded. “This is really the perfect spot.”
Lynn reached across the table for his hand and held it in her own, smiling at him as he said, "Well the bookstore was a success. Hopefully it will be here too." She had time to say, “Bookstores tend to always be a success with me,” before he utterly and completely distracted her by using his free hand to caress her cheek before leaning forward and pecking her on the lips.
Lynn blinked, unsure of why it had such an effect on her, and pulled on well-honed acting abilities to school her face into a glow of happiness, smiling at him. She didn’t let go of his hand, even when he leaned back and away from her again; it was nice to have an anchor in this sea of chaotic conversations.
"Thank's for coming with me today, it wouldn't of been as fun if you hadn't.You look beautiful by the way."
“Oh, I’m sure that the Wigtown Wanderers would have been plenty good enough company for you,” she said, smiling at him as a faint blush came over her cheeks at his offhand compliment. “And thank you for indulging my wanderlust in the bookstore. As to the way I look, it’s the weather. I love it when it gets all wet and chilly like this. I like snow, especially fresh-fallen, but this …” Lynn shrugged, looking out the window as she absently caressed his hand with her thumb. “It’s gloomy to some people, but I couldn’t be happier.”

Re: A first together (Lynn) Hogsmead weekend
The Three Broomsticks was just one of the places at Hogsmead that you had to visit, well, at least it was on Sean's list. It was a crowded affair but Sean didn't really mind. Sometimes it just felt good to be lost in a sea of people. It was a weird thought but it worked for Sean.
As Sean sat with Lynn he felt quite comfortable. He had the warmth of the fire rolling down his back, the comfort of Lynn holding his hand and the knowledge that he didn't have to worry about anything at all except what to order.
“You’re a godsend, Sean,” Sean grinned at the choice of words. "Well I do try, Miss Stuart." He replied. “This is really the perfect spot.”
Looking around Sean said, "It's my favorite in this place." Sean liked this place best. It was one of the coziest places in the Three Broomsticks. Usually it was taken but today was just a lucky one. Sean found that he often was lucky when he was in Lynn's company. Everything seemed to be just perfect.
“Bookstores tend to always be a success with me,” Sean let out a small chuckle. "Yes, they most certainly do" He told her. "Well I suppose we all have something that is a "success" to us."
“Oh, I’m sure that the Wigtown Wanderers would have been plenty good enough company for you,”
Sean just shrugged. Wigtown Wanderers would of been a great find and would of made the trip to Hogsmeade worth it. Sean wouldn't lie, he laughed quidditch as much as the next guy at Hogwarts. But knowing what a trip was like with Lynn would of made just a book seem like a pointless trip to Hogsmeade. Knowing that he could of gone with Lynn but hadn't wouldn't of done, not at all.
"Well then I suppose your just a perk" He grinned jokingly. No, Lynn was most definantly not just a perk. She was the whole trip, the book was the perk.
“And thank you for indulging my wanderlust in the bookstore. As to the way I look, it’s the weather. I love it when it gets all wet and chilly like this. I like snow, especially fresh-fallen, but this …” Sean followed Lynn's gaze out the window. Hogsmeade was an interesting and fun place to visit, no matter what the weather.
“It’s gloomy to some people, but I couldn’t be happier.”
"Whatever works for you I suppose" He told her, he couldn't help but glance down at his hand that Lynn was holding and gently rubbing. Just a touch from her made him go all tingly.
"As for me, I prefer the sun. Guess it just soaked right into me when I was living in Australia." Sean was use to the rainy and cold weather but the sun would always have a place in his heart.
