A poem of mine...The Storm
Yes, Jade writes poetry.
The Storm
Thunder clashes overhead.
Standing in the pouring rain,
You check your watch with
A casual flick of your wrist.
It is time.
Your jacket becomes the darkest ebony hue,
And the hood conceals your emotionless face.
An inside pocket keeps a secret surprise,
One that your fingers slip over time and time again.
…And it’s all for him.
Your steps are slow, almost pulling you back.
But each footfall has a deliberate motion.
A task has been set your mind’s dark realms,
And your path is taking you to the scene.
Soon you’ll be there.
You can sense your quarry nearby.
The fool messed with your world,
Destroyed your precious balance and
Evaporated all love from your life.
He shall pay.
You shall prove the quote true.
“You can run, but you can’t hide.”
Even a petrified human, scared for his life,
Can run only so far for only so long.
And it’s not forever.
Soon the alleyway comes into view.
No emotion rakes your features…yet.
And then you sense it again…your quarry,
The one you have followed for years.
And a smile forms.
He senses you and quivers with fear.
He has noplace to go, or to hide.
Cornered, he starts to mumble into the rain,
Apoligies that are empty and useless.
His skin isn’t saved.
A voice in your head tells you softly
…Wound the legs, he can’t leave.
Lightning flashes, his form is visible.
Quick as a flash, your secret is out.
No escape now.
His moans of pain are drowned out
By the storm that rages ‘round you both.
Walking with the calmest of steps,
You move and stand over your foe.
Your smile grows wider.
Striding around his wounded form,
You tell him everything you’ve felt in the past years,
The pain, the loathing, the deep grief…
And now another emotion sweeps over you.
A lust…for death.
His eyes watch your every movement,
Dodging from your smile to your hand.
Then, as his bloodless face meets your pitiless stare,
Your arm raises and you mutter one final word.
“Good-bye.”
Thunder drowns out the gunshot blast,
But fails to drown out his agonized scream.
You stare as his form slumps forward,
A blood torrent streaming from his skull.
And you laugh.

Alright, now all you good little kiddies read it and dont reply!!!
~Jade, who should end the endless sarcasm...
You mean you can put something worthwhile down here? Interesting...
If somebody said that I never reply when I'm told not to...
Sombody lied. This is a pretty nifty poem, heck, if you added a chorus, you could prolly pass it off as a song. The lines I liked the most were A voice in your head tells you softly, Wound the legs, he can't leave. It helps to avoid all the unnecessary chasing.

Re: If somebody said that I never reply when I'm told not to
I would say this poem scares me but lately as you can see I have been writing up spooky things like Against the Will. So it just reminds me of how morbid my writings are.
Strangly, I'm inspired now to work on my book and to finish my short story. Now if I was only at home so I could write.
I finally put some type of fiction up. That's Against the Will, in the general forum. Chapters 1-4 are available to read. So go there and read them.
