A purty love story (sequel to "Where's Billy?")
***this story is in know way endorsed by anyone in it, in fact it was most likely wrote against their will and despite the many beatings I'm gonna make it anyways...***
"Mmm that was amazing I love you honey..." Billy whispered as he rolled over and kissed Mary who was laying by his side.
"Mmm I love you too...too....too...BUZZZZZZZ"
Billy woke up to his stupid alarm clock buzzing like the antichrist.
"Uggghhh...." Billy groaned as he rolled over and threw the damn thing against the wall to thourghly break it and shut it up all at once. He laid back down and put his arm over the right side of the bed...expecting that his dream was reality. He felt around when he realized the familiar warmth wasn't there. He opened his eyes and rubbed them...though his vision sucked without his contacts he could see the bed was empty.
"@#%$...." Billy groaned to himself as he rubbed his eyes again and finally made himself sit up in the bed. It was then that he remembered why he was alone....he'd walked out on his friends and his girlfriend just 2 days ago.
As Billy got dragged himself into the bathroom for a shower he thought to himself *Well it wasn't my fault....J was an ass anyways!*... But as his shower began he started thinking about Mary....
*Well she deserved it too....she was just usuing me...stupid bitch....ya thats right....I don't miss her I'm better off alone!*
But after a few seconds he couldn't help feeling bad...
*Oh @#%$ who am I tryin to convince? I miss her SO bad....I'll just have to fix that...*
After arguing with himself for the remainder of his shower he just decided to go on with his day and say to hell with the memories.
***Meanwhile at Mary's apartment***
"Hey Mary I need to borrow some....whoa!" Katie said as she walked in to find Mary sitting depressed on the couch watching a TV that wasn't turned on.
"Umm you okay?" Katie asked.
"Yeah I'm fine...just umm FINE!" Mary said as she remained still.
"Okay umm....you need help...and I would do it but I'm not feeling to well...just a second..." Katie said as she left without Mary noticing.
***In the beautiful bahamas***
*ring* *ring*
"Mmm *giggle* Michael mmm.......damn phone just a sec..." Linda said as she peaked out of the covers to get the phone...she figured it must be urgent if it was ringing that damn long!
"Hey Linda its Katie..."
"Oh hey why the hell are you interuptting my Mikey time?" Linda asked as she looked back under the covers at her man.
"Cuz Mary's really bad....Billy left a few days ago and though I put Tracy on the mission I think she forgot it when she seen Meg's new bf....can't you come back?" Katie pleaded.
"Why should I? How bad is she?" Linda asked.
"She's sitting on the couch religiously watching a blank TV! I'm not sure how long but she looks really tired...." Katie said.
"Okay....I guess we can help...I'll be back tonight..." Linda said as they then finished with goodbyes.
***On da Natural bus***
*ring*
*WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!*
"Here Ben you take him...." Beth said as she flung a crying Hudson into Ben's arms so she could answer the savior phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey Bethy its me....umm look I know u and Ben are busy and all but you need to come help me with Mary...Billy left 2 days ago and she's a wreck!" Katie again pleaded her case.
"How bad?"
"Me when I found out Alex Band was gay bad..." Katie replied.
"Whoa! Okay I'm on my way..." Beth said thankful to be freed from watching Hudson 24/7.
***Back at Billys hotel***
Billy had tried to pass the day watching TV but it was no use. He was missing Mary something fierce! He wanted to talk to someone SOOOO bad but he couldn't call any of his old friends...they'd all screwed him over and they'd tell Mary where he was. Maybe he wanted that...? Nah...
Billy tried sitting and watching TV for a few more minutes...but Spongebob was really getting to him! It was the episode where SpongeBob meets Sandy and trys to impress her and all Billy could think of was how that was so like him and Mary!
"Okay I need OUTTA HERE!" Billy said as he flipped the TV off and headed outside for a walk...
As Billy walked he couldn't think of anything but Mary. Everything was reminding him of her and their fight and it was driving him nuts!
"Ouch hey watch where your going!!!" said a beautiful woman who Billy apparently didn't see in his path.
"Oh sorry..." Billy said as he helped her up.
"Well you look preoccupied...my names Cleo whats yours?" the woman now identified as Cleo asked.
"I'm Billy...Billy Vassi."
"Nice to meet ya...so whats up?"
"Nothing...just umm thinking about a fight me and my girl...well ex had." Billy said as he realized what Mary now was to him for the first time.
"That sucks...well hey I got notin to do later want to come over and we can talk about it?" Cleo asked. She was direct, never fooled around with anything including being subtle in conversations!
"Uhh gee well...I guess....sure..."
"Alright heres my address....just come by any time after 8!" Cleo said as she jogged off.
***Back at Katie's apartment...7pm that night***
"Okay now how bad is it?" Linda asked as she burst in the door. She was completly tan and her brown hair looked almost blonde in comparison.
She'd taken a little longer to get there then Beth...so Katie and Beth sat watching Wade Robsin's dance show and eating cheetos while they waited.
"Finally...." Beth said as she ate some more cheetos.
"Oh man its NOT good I mean shes completly lost! See I'd help but..." Katie said as she pointed at her stomach, "Ya know...anyways you guys gotta go help her...talk her through ya know?"
"Fine...come on Bethy..." Linda said as Beth reluctantly got up and parted with her cheetos.
*Knock on Mary's door...*
*knock again*
*knock*
"Oh hell here..." Beth said as she kicked the door open.
"Beth...that was SO KEWL!" Linda said as they entered the apartment.
Mary was sitting where Katie had found her hours ago, still just starring at the blank TV.
"Mary...hey you okay?" Linda asked as her and Beth sat on the couch by her.
"No..." Mary muttered as she shook her head.
"What happened?" Linda asked.
Mary took a few deep breathes before bursting out in sobs, "OH LINDA *SOB* BETH *SOB* I DROVE BILLY AWAY AGAIN!!!!!"
"Calm down calm down..." Linda said as she hugged her hysterical friend.
"NO!!!!! HE LEFT AND I DON'T KNOW WHERE HE ISSSSSS!!!! *SOB* HE HATES ME!!!!!!" Mary cried out.
"Shh....no he don't....look okay maybe he'll come back..." Beth tried to assist in the comforting.
"NO!!!" Mary cried out again...she believed he was gone forever.
"Mary chill....its not the end of the world....okay lets just umm...okay calm down and why dont you go take a nice hot relaxing shower and me and Beth will order in some Chinese and we'll talk more okay?" Linda offered.
Mary just sobbed and shook her head yes as she gave into trying to calm down.
***At Cleo's 8pm***
*ding dong*
"Hey! Come in..." Cleo said as she let Billy in.
"Thanks..." Billy said as he followed her into her living room. Cleo had a nice little house for anyone living in the area. Billy didn't seem to notice, he only agreed to come because he knew it might help him to talk with someone, even a perfect stranger.
"You look familiar..." Cleo said as she sat on a couch and gestured to him to sit down next to her.
"Oh you know of Natural?" Billy asked.
"Oh yeah my friend dragged me to one of their lame signings..." Cleo said as she rolled her eyes at the memory.
"Yeah I'm an ex friend of one of the members..." Billy said as he just looked down. He was to sad to even censor what he said.
"Oh...OH! I remember ya kinda but I was pretty wasted....haha! Anyways so you wanna talk?" Cleo asked.
"Kinda...I dunno..." Billy said as he had second thoughts on giving a complete stranger his history.
"Hmmm well fine we can talk about anything. What you do for a living?" Cleo asked.
"Well I'm trying to be a singer but yeah I'm not getting anywhere fast..." Billy said sadly at the thought.
"You sing? Me too! Well haha I'm kinda like you though I got no deal or anything like that..." Cleo said.
"Really? What kinda music you sing?"
"Ohh kinda a mix of my favs ya know like Mariah Carey and Stevie B..." Cleo said now a bit shy, she thought he'd just think she was crazy.
"OMG you like Stevie B? I thought no one even knew who he was anymore!" Billy said a bit perked up by the revelation.
"Ohh well I mean I love that man...who couldn't love the person who created 'Dream About You'?" Cleo asked with a shy smile.
Billys mouth dropped open, "That's one of my favs! Man Mary hated this stuff..." Billy said saddening himself at the thought of her again.
"Ohh was that your ex?" Cleo asked.
"Yeah...but hey its in the past now..."
"Yeah...so where you from?" Cleo asked.
"Right now I'm living in a cheap motel 6!" Billy said as he laughed, it was the only place he could afford after he stormed out on Mary, "But I'm originally from Ohio."
"Me too! Well not the Motel 6...my parents just moved us here 3 years ago this is actually their house I still can't afford an apartment of my own so I stay here while I save up..."
"Really? Awesome! I..." Billy said as his cell phone went off, it was his mom and he knew J had probably called her and worried her.
"Oh man...I gotta take this just a second." Billy said as he answered the phone.
After a few minutes of his mother prying and nagging Billy had no hopes of the convo ending any day soon.
"Mom just a sec....Hey Cleo you think maybe we could meet up for lunch tomorow? This isn't going anywhere fast..." He said flashing his greek smile.
"Sure...I'll see ya a little after noon meet me at that little cafe down on 5th." Cleo said, she loved that cafe.
"Alright...bye." Billy said as he hugged her and returned to his cell phone argument.
*In his car a few minutes later*
"Mom look I don't wanna go back okay..."
"Billy J called he said Mary was a wreck...she sounded like such a nice girl..." Mrs. Vassi pleaded.
"Mom! Look I'll live my own life...okay? Bye!" Billy said as he hung up. He didn't want to think about Mary and just because they tricked his mom didn't mean they could trick him into coming back. He was just going to go home and eat some McDonald's he'd pick up on the way and then sleep.
***Back at Mary's apartment***
*While Mary was in the shower*
"Ohh Beth look..." Linda said as she picked up a little ring box. She'd offered to clean the apartment up a bit while Beth had just returned with the Chinese.
"Ohh....you better hide that or it might throw her in to a tizzy again..." Beth said as she sat the food bags down.
Linda opened the box and looked at the pretty ring. "Ya know if he loved her that much to give this to her why did he leave?"
"I don't know men are weird I guess..." Beth said as she snuck open some seasme seed chicken.
"Beth! Wait for Mary!" Linda said as she pryed the food away.
Beth just gave her a dirty look, "I'm telling Ben!"
Linda laughed, "You go ahead...I got Michael..."
Just then Mary came out of the shower. Linda noticing she stupidly still had the ring box in her hand hid it in her pocket quickly.
"Linda what was that?" Mary asked.
"Oh umm just a my um change for the Chinese...come on lets eat!"
The girls quietly got their food and sat down on the couch. Beth had wanted to rent a movie but horror movies always gave them nightmares and obviously any movie with love in it would drive Mary nutty. So they opted to watch Cops and America's most wanted on FOX instead.
They pretty much ate in silence the rest of the night with barely any small talk. Then they headed to bed.
***Noon at the Cafe***
"Billy hey!" Cleo said as Billy entered the cafe. She had actually been looking forward to talking with him again.
"Hey!" Billy said as he sat down in the booth with her.
"So how'd it go with your mom last night?" Cleo asked.
"Eh it was okay...she yelled at me and thats about it...ouch my neck!" Billy said as he started to rub his neck.
"Oh...what happend to it?" Cleo asked.
"Its those damn hotel beds...eh I can't hold up there forever anyways..." Billy said as he realized what he just said was very true.
"Well...ya know we have a spare bedroom and my parents would probably be cool if ya wanted to stay with us awhile...you seem nice enough."
"Really? Nah I don't want to be a bother..."
"It'd be no prob! Really." Cleo offered.
"Well...fine but I'll pay rent otherwise I'll feel sooo bad!"
***3 weeks later at Katie's apartment***
"Hey honey...how was Mary?" Katie asked as J returned from going grocery shopping with Mary.
"Miserbale....she looks so sad...I wish I could get a hold of that ass named Billy...." J said as he put some grocery bags down on the counter.
"*sigh* Yeah I have no clue where he is...and we got to head to Tampa in a month so you guys can start practicing for the tour...." Katie said worriedly.
"I know..." J said as he started putting the groceries away.
***At Cleo's***
Meanwhile in the past few weeks Billy had been having quite a good time. Cleo's parents adored him and insisted he stayed rent free. But he felt guilty so he got a job at the cafe anyways just to help out. Him and Cleo were becoming really good friends and a lot of people were starting to suspect they were more then friends...
***At the mall***
"Hey Billy would look good in that..." Said Kelly, Cleo's mom. Her and Cleo were bored while Billy and her dad worked so they decided to go shopping.
"Yeah...I should take him out shopping someday...were talking about going to some auditions and looks are key!" Cleo said as she admired the shirt in the window.
"I bet he'd like that on you!" Kelly said as she pointed a low cut shirt up on another manneiquen.
"Mom!" Cleo laughed as she tried to ignore the comment.
"What? You know Michelle called and she was saying..." Kelly started. Michelle was Cleo's best friend who just had an undying theory that Cleo and Billy were more then friends.
"MOM! No do NOT listen to Michelle she's nuts! Can't a guy and girl be just friends?" Cleo pleaded, she hated rumors (ALMOST AS MUCH AS THE AUTHOR lol okay I'm better !)
"Well you two would make a cute couple thats all...and hes such a nice boy...." Kelly started as Cleo interuptted with her protests.
"Mom no no NO NO NO no no NO no! We're just friends...thats all!" Cleo insisted.
*Later that night, Billys room*
"Hey Billy you gotta help me with sometin..." Cleo said as she sat down by him on his bed.
"Hmm what?"
"Okay Michelle and Mom and god help me but I'm starting to think dad all think that we ummm....were more then friends and I just wanted to make sure were not right?" Cleo asked.
"Well yeah I guess...ha why do they think that?" Billy asked, he didn't tell Cleo but her dad had asked him about it the other night!
"I don't know...people enjoy rumors..." Cleo said as she leaned in and kissed Billy!
Billy obviously hadn't been expecting it but he kissed her back.
As the kiss ended Cleo smiled and shook her head, "Nah didn't feel right...right?"
"Right." Billy said as he smiled back, sure it felt good to be kissed but it felt dirty wrong like kissing his sister...
"Alrighty then...thats a good thing to know...ohhh we gotta go shopping tomorow..." Cleo said as she started a new topic.
***3 months later***
A lot had happened in 3 months. Katie had her baby and J was now proud of his little daughter. Mary was still moping over Billy but she was slowly coming to accept he was gone. In fact when Natural headed over to practice for their up coming tour Mary came with, Katie had hired her to be her assitant and help with the baby. Billy and Cleo had been having fun too...making people believe whatever they fancied at the moment. Neither had found someone to date but it didn't matter, they were having a great time hanging out and working on music together.
That morning Cleo woke up like every other. Billy had the day off so he was sleeping in. They were the only ones home since both her parents had work that day. She rolled out of bed and onto the internet like always. As she checked her email she noticed an urgent one from one of her friends...
"BILLY!" Cleo shouted excitedly as she jumped on his bed.
"Huh...wha?" Billy mumbled as she woke him up. He'd been having a wonderful Mary dream and was slightly pissed at being woken from it.
"Billy wake up....look what Michelle sent me!" Cleo said excitedly.
Billy looked quickly at the piece of paper in her hand, "That's nice..." he said as he rolled back over and closed his eyes again.
"You dork..." Cleo giggled as she pounced him to wake him back up.
"Alright alright I'm up I'm up whats so important?"
"Look...oh fine be lazy I'll just tell ya...see Michelle sent me an fwd that American Idol was gonna have auditions for another season and their coming to Orlando!" Cleo said.
"I guess your gonna make me go aren't you?" Billy asked teasingly.
"Yes...unless you don't love me!" Cleo said.
"Fine I do I do...when is it?" Billy asked as he rubbed his eyes.
"Next Saturday."
"Fine I'll get Thursday off and we can go sleep on the side walk for 2 nights...good clean fun now can I sleep?"
"Yes..." Cleo giggled as she hugged him then left him alone.
*** Next Thursday, some lovely sidewalk in Orlando***
"Man where already at least the 100th people in line!" Billy said as him and Cleo got in line.
"You just whine to much..." Cleo teased.
That night they both had the joy of sleeping on cold cement and waking up to the doors opening for early auditions. After long hours in lines and being told to go by 2 different casting people they were both outside the 3 judges doors.
"You think we'll make it?" Cleo asked nervously.
"Well we made it this far..." Billy said trying to reassure himself also.
"Yeah but I've seen that show...they let bad people through for a laugh sometimes!!!" Cleo said worriedly.
"Cleo you know your good..." Billy tried to reassure her.
"Yeah well I need a few extra minutes...you go first!" Cleo said as she shoved him in front of her.
"Cleo..." Billy said before the doors opened and a casting guy dragged him in.
"Umm....a hi...I'm Billy Vassi and I'm 23 and I'll be singing 'Dream about you' by Stevie B..." Billy was barely able to mutter out. All 3 judges were watching him waitingly...

Billy had had his eyes closed the whole time, he didn't need to see Simon cringe if that was the case...He took a breathe and opened his eyes only to find Randy and Paula clapping...and after a few seconds even SIMON clapping.
"Bravo! I say Hollywood..." Randy said.
"I agree that was fantastic!" Paula smiled.
"I hate being nice...but you have some true talent...hollywood!" Simon said as he tried to hide a smile.
Billy was ecstatic as the other cast guy gave him the paper with the info he'd need. Now all he had to do was wait for Cleo...he'd feel SO bad if she didn't make it and he had...
*5 minutes later*
"Oh god your crying...I hope thats a good thing..." Billy said when Cleo emerged with tears on her cheeks.
She just smiled and held up the yellow paper.
"YES!" Billy said as he hugged her.
Over the next few months a lot happened. The Natural tour got kicked off at the end of the 2 months, and Billy and Cleo both made it to the top 10 on American Idol. Of course no one in Natural really knew. J hated him, the rest of the guys were busy with their lives, and the girls were all busy and couldn't get a hold of him anyways so they just gave up.
***At the AI House, midnight***
"Hey Cleo you awake?" Billy asked as he snuck into her room.
"Yeah...why you up?" Cleo asked as she sat up in her bed.
"Kinda nervous bout tomorow..." Billy said as he sat down on her bed. Tomorrow was their first live show where they would have to perform to stay on the show.
"Ohh don't be..." Cleo said as she hugged him.
"You think that...Mary might be watching?" Billy asked. He had tried to get her off his mind even with all the good things going on but it was no use...especially because the Stevie B song kept bringing back memories for him.
"She might be...why don't you call her?" Cleo asked.
"I don't know...I was an ass to her..." Billy said as he tried not to cry but it was no use.
"Ohh...you'll be okay...if its meant to be it will be..." Cleo said as she hugged him.
***In Katie/J's hotel room, same time***
"Hey Mary what are you doing tomorow?" Katie asked. It was a Friday and their first day off since they had began practicing for the tour now months ago.
"Oh just ya know I could watch Aurora for you..." Mary offered.
"No Pam (J's mom) insisted she got her for the weekend...you should go out have some fun!" Katie prodded.
"Katie I don't think I can..." Mary said as she looked away. She missed Billy just as much as he was missing her.
"Mary it's been almost 5 months! He ain't comin back and I have no clue where he is! Let him go! In fact ya know...I think Wade's been having his eye on you..." Katie said with a teasing smile. Wade Robsin had been hired to help choregraph and dance in Katie's part of the show (she was the opening act.)
"Oh god no he hasn't!" Mary said, she'd never believe that.
"Yeah he has in fact he asked me about you one day and when I told him about the messy break up he understood so he didn't ask ya out...but he really wants to..." Katie said.
"*sigh* Well It is time to move on...whats his #?" Mary asked bravely.
*The next night, AI stage*
Billy and Cleo had both performed with raving reviews from all the judges though Simon tried to be a bit harsh to Cleo. The fans had cheered wildly. Right now they had 3 more performances to wait through before they would know who was voted off for the night.
"You okay?" Cleo asked. She was just smiling and so excited while Billy looked downcast.
"Yeah...that song really reminded me of Mary..." Billy said as he looked away.
"Billy...you should call her..." Cleo said as she had to shout over the cheers as the 3rd to last performance ended.
"No...I just...I don't know yet nows not a good time..." Billy said as Cleo gave him a hug. Of course about 50 backstage people seen that and took it as something more then it was.
The night ended well, neither of them was kicked off and instead of joining the other surviors Billy just headed back to the AI house and Cleo joined him.
This again raised some suspicion...
*At a small restraunt*
"You really liked my show?" Wade asked shocked that he was dating someone who had actually watched it.
"Yeah it was cool...of course I don't dance but it'd be neat to learn how." Mary said shyly. Inside she was hating this date...but outside some odd personality of hers was taking of and she was flirting majorly with Wade.
"Well maybe I'll have to teach you someday..." wade said with a sly smile.
Mary just giggled. After a night of flirting the two headed back to the hotel. They were holding hands as they said goodnight and Wade even got a good night kiss.
"Think maybe we could go out tomorow after the show?" Wade asked.
"Uh yeah sure." Mary smiled.
*3 months later*
A lot happened in 3 months. The Natural tour was a success and on hiatus for a month then it would be the American leg of their World tour. None of them had had any time to watch TV let alone hear any news about anything! Nobody had any clue what was going down that night...
*AI Stage*
"Tonight...America will have a new idol..." Ryan Seacrest announced as he was interuptted by loud tweeny cheers.
"Yes thats right...so tonight you vote it's between Cleo Thome and Billy Vassi!" Again he was interuptted with cheers. Both Billy and Cleo had made it to the top 3, and just the week before had beaten out the 3rd contestant. The night before Cleo and Billy agreed...they'd both have fame anyways so they were gonna be happy no matter who won.
***Meanwhile, Beth/Ben's hotel room***
Beth had been bored...so what do u do when your bored and your husband's busy? Why get on his laptop and catch up with the world of course! Beth quickly logged on to mtv.com after she had hit every other site. She wanted to see if there was any gossip on her and Ben...
"What the..." Beth said as she seen Billy and Cleo's face plastered on the front page.
Billy and Cleo more then just friends?
For months we've watched their cute antics and amazing voices...and tonight one of them will be the next American Idol. But one must wonder through all the tears and hugs and kisses are they more then just friends? Both Billy and Cleo have denied it in about every interview they've been able to do but the press can't help wonder. Ex American Idol contestant Cheena Wilkins (top 3) believes so. In a quote with "M" magazine she stated "They never really hung with the rest of us...they were inseprable but I never seen anything incriminating so I can't say for sure..." This obviously screams Justin and Kelly all over let's just hope theres no movie...
Beth's jaw dropped to the floor! She had no clue! So thats why Billy never called or came back...
"Linda...what time is it?" Beth asked as she hurriedly looked up the time for the show.
"almost 9pm...why?" Linda asked.
"@#%$ turn on the TV on FOX now!" Beth said as she turned around to see the TV.
Linda obeyed just in time to see the end of Billys performance.
Her mouth dropped also at the site.
"OMG Beth...oh God where's Mary?" Linda asked.
"She's out with Wade...said it was an *important* night and not to bug her..." Beth said as they both looked back at the TV which was now on commercial break.
"How could we not have known?" Linda asked upset.
"I don't know...we've been busy I guess..." Beth said.
"Yeah...get Katie in here she'll know what to do!" Linda said as Beth quickly got up and dragged Katie and Aurora (her daughter if u didn't already get it lol) in to the room.
"Okay now whats this about?" Katie asked.
Just then the commercial broke and went back to the show showing a very nervous Cleo and Billy center stage.
"Well I'll be damned..." Katie said as she sat her daughter down by Linda on the bed.
"And welcome back to American Idol 3...were tallying your votes as we speak...dial ***whateva da # is*** ex 001 for Billy and ***whateva da # is*** ex 002 for Cleo. We'll have your votes at the end of the night...." Ryan Seacrest said as he babbled on for another 10 minutes.
All 3 girls (okay 4 but the baby didn't really care lol) sat watching the TV speechless. They had no clue who Cleo was (cept for Beth) and they were all waiting to see what would become of Mary's ex.
Meanwhile on the very stage Billy and Cleo stood paralyzed holding each others hands. They knew the stupid rumors but if they let go they'd probably faint...
*A few minutes later*
"And the next American Idol is....BILLY VASSI CONGRATULATIONS!" Ryan read as everyone screamed and hollered.
Cleo was so happy for him she forgot about the cameras and kissed him right on the lips (closed mouth...though gossipers said otherwise...)!
Back in the hotel room the girls eyes got huge. Billy was the new American Idol now what would become of Mary? She was doing so well with Wade...in fact a little to well...
*At Wade's suite that he rented just for that night...*
"Mm I love ice cream..." Mary said as her and Wade sat eating their desserts from room service.
"Me too...but there's something I love more....Mary I know we've only been dating a few months but it feels like forever! So..." Wade said as he got outta his chair and down on one knee.
"Mary...will you a...marry me?" Wade asked nervously.
"OMG!..." Mary said as she thought a second...for the moment Billy for the first time in awhile crossed her mind for the first time in along time. "Yes...yes Wade I will!" Mary said as he smiled and put the ring on her finger.
***Meanwhile back at Beth's hotel room***
"Okay....ya know we have another few weeks off....Mary's gonna hear about this..." Linda said worriedly.
"I know...what do we do?" Beth asked.
"Well I'm gonna try and call him..." Katie said as she picked up her cell phone.
Billy and Cleo had decided to avoid all the media and party crap going on, and just head back to the AI house.
Billy opted for a shower while Cleo searched the kitchen for some food.
*ring*
Cleo was annoyed as Billys cell phone on the table interuptted her food search but outta curiosity she picked it up anyways. Cleo didn't recognize the # and thought it might be Mary.
"Hello?"
"Hmm your not Billy..." Katie said as she heard a female voice on the other end.
"No this is Cleo Billy's in the shower...is this Mary?" Cleo asked.
"No but I'm calling about her...I'm her friend Katie." Katie explained.
"Oh...okay just a second let me see if I can get him..." Cleo said as she headed for the bathroom.
"Billy!" Cleo shouted as she knocked on the door.
"What?" Billy shouted back. He'd just gotten out and only had a towel on.
"Some girl named Katie's on the phone...she said it was about Mary..."
Billy made a mad dash for the door and reached his hand out for the phone.
"Hello?" He asked outta breath.
"Hey...long time no talk..." Katie said as Beth and Linda listened in excitedly.
"Yeah...sorry I just I've been busy..." Billy said wanting to ask sooo badly how Mary was but he was trying to behave.
"Obviously...congratulations!"
"Thanks...oh congratulations on the baby...its born now isn't it what is it?" Billy asked holding his Mary urge back.
"Yeah she's born, its a girl named Aurora. So why didn't you ever call Mary?" Katie asked.
"I don't know....I was really terrible to her....is she okay how is she?" Billy asked a bit to eagerly.
"She's okay...look Billy she just started dating again a few months ago and she really misses you...maybe you should call her tomorow..."
"Alright....I will...look I got to go I'm dripping wet...bye." Billy said as he hung up.
*Next morning, the tour bus, Natural had to travel back to Fl for the remainder of their break*
"Dude what time is it?" Katie asked as she entered the tour bus rubbing her eyes awake.
"9am..." Linda said as she cuddled next to a sleeping Michael in a chair.
"I'll have Lou's balls for this..." Katie said as she sat by Beth on the couch.
"I'm sure he'd like that!" Beth teased.
"Ya know we were supposed to leave at 8 but they couldn't find Mary so J went out to find her...he told me to tell you when you woke up." Linda said.
"Oh...well then yay Mary...damn Lou I HATE HIM SO MUCH!" Katie said as she started trying to fall back asleep.
Just then J came in holding Aurora and was soon followed by Mary.
"Mary!" Beth said exictedly
"Bethy! Guys guess what!" Mary said as she came in beaming.
"What?" The girls all asked half comatose.
Mary just grinned happily as she pulled her left hand out behind from her back, "Wade and me are ENGAGED!"
Linda and Beth smiled and congratulated Mary hesistantly as Katie's eyes just got huge as she immediatly thought of Billy.
"A...Mary are you sure your ready?" Katie asked hesitantly.
Mary thought a second...honestly knew she wasn't and she KNEW that she missed Billy sooo much but she didn't wan't to admit it.
"Yeah I'm sure...in fact I hope we can get married very soon!"
All 3 girls just gave her a hesitant look...it was almost as she was trying to convince herself not them!
*The AI House a few hours later...*
"Billy what are you doing up?" Cleo asked as she woke up to find him at the table starring at his phone.
"Couldn't sleep...I told Katie I'd call Mary today and....yeah..."
"Billy I'm sure she'll be glad to hear from you...come on just call her..."
"O...kay...." Billy said hesistantly as he picked up the phone and dialed.
*On the bus*
The bus trip was just pure agony. Everyone but Beth, J, and Mary decided to sleep instead of bare out trying to bite their tounges.
3 hours after they departed they made a potty stop at a small gas station in the middle of nowhere. Mostly everyone got out to stretch and fill up on Mt. Dew, including Mary. As she was returning to the bus her cell phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Uh...uh...hi." Billy said nervously as Cleo held his hand and prodded him to talk.
Mary froze...she hadn't been expecting this. She barely had time to think before she could react!
"Well it's been almost 6 months...nice of you to finally call!"
"Mary look...I'm sorry I @#%$ up I really did and I don't blame you for being mad and...and...I mean Cleo told me to call months ago but then that whole American Idol thing started and well yeah I hope you knew so you'd understand...." Billy said quickly. Alls he could think was *don't cry, don't cry*...he just wanted his Mary back.
"What do you mean?" Mary asked confused.
"You didn't know?" Billy asked now even more upset...he thought for surely Mary would have heard.
"Know what?"
"I won American Idol...I thought you would know..." Billy said disappointedly.
"Oh sorry I've been on tour and I just got engaged so I had no clue!" Mary snapped back. *Why am I doing this? BE NICE* is all Mary could think yet she couldn't help herself.
"Your engaged?" Billy asked now very close to tears. Cleo could see he was upset and hugged him but it was no help.
"Yeah Wade asked me last night...what about you I'm sure you have someone...." Mary said now regretting what she had said.
"No...I lost her..." Billy said as he hung up and broke down in tears.
"Whats wrong? What happened?" Cleo asked as she tried to comfort him.
"She's engaged Cleo!" Billy managed to cry out.
Cleo was silent for a few moments... Here was a man who just had all his dreams come true and yet he was crying! Crying over something that happend so long ago...
"Billy...*sigh* why don't you try and calm down and just relax and ya know when you have time to be sane I'll help you okay?" Cleo offered.
"Cleo I lost her!" Billy said through his tears...a few seconds later he dried his eyes and composed himself.
"Okay your right...I have to meet with the managers in a few hours...I'm just gonna throw myself into this!"
A few months passed and misery just was heavy in the air always masked by a false happiness.
Mary and Wade were the talk of the town. They were always lovey dovey to everyone around them yet Katie and the rest of the girls noticed Mary was always looking slightly upset. Poor Wade he really thought it was love! One day Katie confronted Mary on it and only ended up pissing her off...
*In Mary's hotel room*
"Hey a Mary can I talk to you a second..." Katie asked. Mary was busy picking out a dress amongst 3 of them and some other wedding stuff.
"Sure what?"
"*sigh* Mary do you love Wade?"
"Yeah of course..." Mary said a bit worried about where the conversation was leading now.
"Mary he looks at you so...like J looks at me. Yet you look at him like Beth looks at...Lou." Katie said hesitantly
"Katie what are you getting at?"
"Mary you don't love him! And I think I know who you love and I seen him on TV the other day smiling over his depression! He misses you and you miss him just MAKE UP already!" Katie almost shouted at Mary.
Mary just gave her the coldest look she'd ever gotten in her life except the one day she told Lou no..."Katie you don't know what your talking about! I LOVE WADE! Billy can go to HELL for all I care!"
"Mary your being stupid!"
"No friend would say that..." Mary said coldly as Katie just shook her head and left. Mary collapsed on the bed and started crying. She knew Katie was right but she didn't want to admit it....
Meanwhile Billy and Cleo both rehearsed with the other top 10 finalists for the American Idol tour...he also started recording his debut album. Once the tour actually started Billy was almost running himself ragged trying to avoid reality. He did the show, then he would go record music, and if he wasn't recording he was writting or doing publicity.
"Hey a...Billy?" Cleo said as she knocked on his open hotel door.
"Oh hi..." Billy said as he put his notebook and pen down. There were starbucks cups and crumpled notepaper all over the floor by his keyboard.
"Billy I'm...I'm worried about you... You barely even sleep anymore!" Cleo said as she sat down on the bed by him.
"Cleo no I'm fine! Work is good...I need it..." Billy said defensivly and half sadly.
"Billy you need help! You want to talk about it?" Cleo asked.
"No! I'm fine! I'm over her!"
"I didn't even mention her..." Cleo said as she looked at him.
"I'll be okay...." Billy said as he returned to his work.
Both were total wrecks and on the verge of destruction...yet neither would admit it! Katie and Cleo worried silently to themselves on their own tour buses as they both entered Atlanta....
*The next night*
"Hey Mary I called up Burger King...here's the order go get it!" Lou said as he handed Mary a long slip of paper.
"Lou why didn't you just pull up there?" Beth asked.
"Eh why wase the tour buses gas?" Lou said as he relaxed on a chair way to small for him.
So Mary headed out reluctantly to fufill her job duties.
*On the AI3 Tour bus*
Billy had been a wreck the last few nights... he hadn't even slept the night before! Cleo was so worried about him but nothing was any good to convince him.
"Hey a Billy were in town...want me to go get you sometin from Burger King?"
"No I'm not hungry..."
Cleo was worried...she hadn't seen him eat or drink anything other then coffee in the last few days.
"Billy I'm going to go get me and you some food and your going to eat it or you hate me and MARY!" Cleo said stubbornly.
"Fine...but I won't like it!" Billy said also being stubborn.
As Cleo pulled in to the parking lot (the driveway was way to busy...) she noticed a poor girl getting about 20 bags of food.
As she entered the restraunt she stopped at the door....that girl was familiar. But how? Cleo thought a moment...then she remembered the picture of Mary Billy had shown her awhile ago. 'OMG' she thought, 'Thats her!' Cleo decided to be sly.
Cleo ordered then went to wait for her food by the girl now identified as Mary.
"Hey." Cleo said, she was hoping Mary didn't have a clue on who she was.
"Hi..."
"Thats a lotta food! Why so much?" Cleo asked.
"Oh I...I work for a band and they sent me out to pick up everyones dinner." Mary said. She hated strangers prying but eh she didn't care anymore...she'd actually been thinking about Billy while she waited for the huge order.
"Oh really? I'm working for a tour myself! Where's your band playing?"
"Umm I can never remember this...I'm not sure!" Mary said as she tried to remember. She never paid much attention to that stuff...it was Glenda's job not hers.
"Oh well my groups playing the collesuim tomorrow...We'll probably just camp out there instead of get a hotel." Cleo said still trying to be casual.
"Yeah I think thats what were doing too..." Mary said as she cashier finished her order.
"Well it was nice meeting you..." Cleo said as Mary and a few employees left.
"Uh you too."
Cleo was ecstatic now! She knew where buses hid out and if she could just find out where Natural was playing she could get Billy to go there...
Cleo rushed home with her bags of food.
"Biillllllly!!!!" Cleo shouted as she came in the tour bus door.
"What?"
"You love Mary right?" Cleo asked as she handed him his food.
"Yeah...but shes engaged now..."
"Okay if you love her you got to win her back! So take this bag and come with me! Cheena tell Fuller we'll be back in an hour or so..." Cleo said as she drug Billy off the bus.
"Okay now where are we going?" Billy asked hesistantly once they were in Cleo's rented car.
"Well I asked the cashier and Natural's playing this little staduim...so I found out where their bus is and we're going to go pay Mary a little trip..." Cleo said excitedly.
"Cleo what NO!?" Billy said as he tried to stop her but she wouldn't let him.
"Billy remember when I said why don't you try and calm down and just relax and ya know when you have time to be sane and I'll help you?" Cleo asked.
"Yeah..."
"Well now is the time!" Cleo said defiantly.
"Cleo I don't know...she's engaged...she doesn't love me..." Billy said sadly.
"You'll never know less you try! And if I'm wrong I'll personally find a girl for you! Now eat! You don't want to look sickly..."
As Cleo drove and Billy ate he was going nuts inside. He loved Mary yeah that was true but she could reject him quickly...and she had every right I mean she was engaged to WADE ROBSIN! But Cleo was right...if he didn't try he'd never know...
*On the dancers bus (theres more then one bus obviously lol!)*
"Hey where is everyone?" Mary asked as she found the bus empty except for Wade.
"Out. They said sometin bout goin for food and maybe to a club or sometin...no biggy gives me and my lovely fiancee` sometime alone..." Wade smiled.
"A....I'm kinda tired tonight..." Mary said as an excuse. She didn't know why but that girl had really reminded her of Billy.
"Ohh please baby....we don't get much alone time tell the honeymoon..." Wade pleaded.
Mary sighed...everytime she even kissed Wade it felt like a revenge act on Billy.
"Fine...I need some cheering up anyways..."
*Meanwhile outside the arena*
"Cleo I don't know about this..." Billy said as he breathed deeply. He was trying not to shake he was just that nervous!
"Billy...look this same thing happend to me a few years ago...almost exact same thing! My boyfriend and me got in a stupid fight, I left, he got engaged, and I wussed out and never told him how I felt....Last Michelle heard he was happily married with 2 kids and a good job...and it eats away at me EVERY day! So go while you still can!" Cleo said as she looked away. She hadn't told anyone that story for a long time!
"Cleo I'm sorry...ya know if it happend that way it wasn't meant to be...maybe like me and Mary aren't either..."
"Billy you might be right about me...but if your not meant to be with her then why are we here?" Cleo asked teasingly.
"Okay...." Billy said as he and Cleo got out of the car in the empty parking thingys (lol the word escapes me right now ...)
"Now where are we going?" Billy asked confused.
"Well I know you never pay attention but I noticed where the busses always park so....that way!" Cleo said as she pointed towards some walled off concrete areas.
After climbing the wall because the door was locked (Cleo didn't count on that lol) and then having to pick open another lock they finally arrived in front of 3 tour buses and 4 luggage busses and 2 cars.
"Hmmm..." Cleo said as she studied the busses in the dimmed light.
"Okay wait I kinda remember this from when me and J were friends and I toured with them....that bus is the main one but I don't know which one Mary would be on..." Billy said as he looked at the 3 people busses.
"Well let's try for it..." Cleo said as she drug Billy over to the main bus.
*knock*
"That better be Beth and she better have pizza and baby formula..." Katie said as she went to answer the door.
"Uh hi...is Mary on this bus?" Cleo asked as Billy hid in the shadows. He didn't need J calling secruity on him...(which had happend when they got in fights in the past...)
"You sound familiar...who are you?" Katie asked.
"Oh forgive me I'm Cleo..."
"Oh....OH!" Katie said smiling as she remembered, "Well I hope you have a greek with you and Mary's on the last bus..." Katie said as she pointed out the door.
"Of course I do! Thanks..." Cleo said with a sly smile as she started heading over that way. Once Katie shut the door Billy followed.
As the pair stopped outside the 3rd bus's door Billy started getting super nervous.
"Cleo..."
"No! You can do this...I'll wait around the corner okay?" Cleo said as she hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "Good luck."
Before Billy could object Cleo had left.
He waited a few moments to compose himself...he didn't know why he was doing this other then by force...
Meanwhile inside Mary and Wade had started going to sleep after their *comfort*. Of course Mary was having trouble sleeping as always...she was missing Billy something bad.
*tap* *tap*
Mary thought she was just hearing things so she didn't budge...
*knock* *knock*
'If it's Katie asking me to watch Aurora I swear I'll scream!' Mary thought to herself as she put on a robe and headed for the door.
She couldn't believe her eyes when she opened it to find a shell of a man she once knew as Billy.
"Uh...hi." Billy said trying not to imagine why she was wearing a robe.
"Hi...what are you doing here?" Mary asked.
"A...think you could come out here and talk with me for awhile?" Billy asked hesistantly...if she said no he'd be devastated.
"...okay just umm let me go get something warmer on..." Mary said as she went back inside. As she threw on her jeans and a t shirt she caught herself making sure she looked alright in the mirror. Thankfully Wade was asleep...
"Okay...so what do you want to talk about?" Mary asked as she came out and shut the door.
"Well...Mary first I want to apoligize...I really @#%$ up..." Billy said. He couldn't look at her...it was just gonna be to painful.
"It's okay...ya know I got to thinking about it and I was kind of in the wrong...I mean I shouldn't have taken it the way I did and I mean who cares who knew then? Yeah..." Mary said shyly.
"Well I mean I was outta line and I shouldn't have stormed off like I did...anyways okay thats in the past! Mary I know your engaged and all and well...I want you back!"
Mary eyes got huge, she hadn't been expecting that!
"Billy...I...Wade....you know..." She managed to mutter out.
"I know I know... It's just look if you still love me as much as I love you then...yeah..."
"Billy I don't know...if and I mean *if* we were back together what would you do now? Your famous!"
"Well it would be up to you...I'm not gonna argue over stupid stuff anymore..." Billy said, he still couldn't look at Mary though he wanted to so badly.
Mary sat and thought for a few moments...
"Okay...I'll have to deal with Wade and all but umm if were going to do this how are we going to be together?" Mary asked. A huge weight had just been lifted off both of their shoulders.
"Well we have tomorow off...and if Cleo's right then Natural's performing tomorrow so then you could come see me then...and we can talk more."
"Okay...where and what time?" Mary asked.
"Here...thats my address and any time u can get there....think I could have a good bye kiss?" Billy asked teasingly. He was in a good mood for the first time since...since this sequel started lol!
"Well...just one..." Mary said as she leaned over and the two locked lips for the first time in over half a year.
Billy just smiled, "Okay....I better go...see you tomorrow..."
"Bye..." Mary said as she got up and went back to her bus as Billy left.
Cleo had been waiting anxiously the whole time. She'd gone off far enough so she wouldn't be prying. She was just hoping Mary had forgiven him at the very least...she had known Billy for so long but she knew she hadn't even met the happy version of him.
"How'd it go?" Cleo asked as she seen Billy climb over the wall.
"Great!" Billy said beaming.
"Wow I forgot you could smile!" Cleo teased.
"I think I did too..." Billy said as they headed back to the car.
Meanwhile back in the dancers bus Mary was having trouble sleeping. She felt sooo bad yet sooo good. Poor Wade...he was just sleeping happily unaware of his morning fate. Mary was dreading it but she knew it was the right thing to do...
*Next morning, the main bus*
"Aurora shut up pleeassse!" Katie pleaded with her crying baby. She hadn't shut up since J had left for breakfast and rehearsal.
"Man that babys annoying...what happend to going shopping?" Beth asked a bit annoyed.
"Well Mary was supposed to watch her but she hasn't showed up yet...and I don't want to walk in on that site again ugh..." Katie said remembering one night she had forgotten to knock on Mary and Wade's door.
Just as Katie was about to call her, Mary came in the door.
"Finally! What took ya so long?" Katie asked as she handed Aurora thankfully to Mary.
"Had to break up with Wade sorry..." Mary said as she tried to calm Aurora down.
"What?! Why? You okay?" Katie and Beth asked almost at once (lol Linda was in the shower so yeah ...)
"Yeah I'm fine...he's not but he'll be okay...I just realized I wasn't in love with him and yeah I'm gonna be okay..." Mary said as she sat down.
"So now what?" Beth asked.
"Notin...just umm...you guys think I could have the day off to ya know keep my sanity?" Mary asked.
"Yeah alright...Linda owes me a favor anyways..." Katie said as she picked Aurora back up from Mary's arms.
"Thanks...I'll be back later don't worry bout me I'm just gonna ya know go walk and stuff..." Mary said.
*Back in Billy's hotel room*
"Billy I need to borrow your....well I'll be damned!" Cleo said as she came into his room only to find him actually sleeping (and it was 1pm!)
"Huh?...oh sorry I just wanted to be awake today..." Billy said as he rolled over and sat up to wake up.
"Man this girl better treat you right! I just wanted to borrow your laptop cuz Cheena is *usuing* mine...I figured you wouldn't need it today anyways..." Cleo said.
"Oh sure its on the desk...@#%$ I gotta get a shower I'll talk to ya later!" Billy said as he dashed into the bathroom realizing Mary could show up in any minute.
Cleo just shook her head and laughed as she left. It was good to see him happy though .
*An hour later*
*knock*
Billy had just gotten out of the shower and dressed by the time he heard a knock on his door.
"A...just a second..." Billy said as he made sure he looked okay. If it was Cleo he would just go insane!
"Hi..." he said as he opened the door only to find Mary.
"Hey..." Mary said as she came in.
"So...are you still okay with everything?" Billy asked nervously...he was hoping she'd say yes.
"Yeah...I broke it off with Wade last night...he wasn't to happy but eh..." Mary said as she sat on his bed.
"Oh...then why you still wearing his ring?" Billy asked after noticing Mary's ring finger wasn't bare.
"You must not have your contacts in..." Mary teased, "This is umm...our ring...if you don't mind...."
"Eh I was aiming for the glasses look but I think Cleo hid em somewhere!" Billy said as he tried to play off caring about her ring.
"I missed your sense of humor." Mary teased.
"I missed you..." Billy said as he sat down by her.
Mary just smiled, "Alright well if were going to be together then we gotta discuss how..."
"Well...our tour ends in 3 months...and your tour ends what next month? Well then we're free to do whatever we like!"
"Billy your the American Idol! It won't be just that easy...you'll have your CD and...everything..." Mary said, she hated even thinking about half of it.
Billy's smile faded, "Oh...yeah...well ya know I'll have a month break...we could get married....I mean...well...sorry just went ahead of myself! Uh....well we could tell people....might be for the best because of all the rumors anyways."
"Alright...*yawn* sorry I'm tired I just didn't sleep much last night..." Mary said as she laid back on the bed.
"Ohh I'm sorry...well unless you have somewhere to go we could just ya know relax and stuff here..." Billy said as he laid down by her and put his arms around her.
"*giggles* well I guess cuddling would be fun..." Mary said as she cuddled into him.
"I love you..." Billy whispered.
"I love you too..." Mary whispered back as she fell asleep in his arms.
