ALRIGHTY THEN!!!!
Ok, here is my delima...although I am lvl 52 I have rarely solo'd. Now I am to the point that if I wish to level much further as quickly as I have from 38 to 50 it seems I must change my fighting tactics from grouping to soloing *sigh*. I have not solo'd since my early 30's and I wasn't very successful then even with quad kiting. I can't stand the downtime of soloing I love grouping and having fun with people. I would like to try CS like ALL the other druids, but I need new tactics to do so! I like the dot and squat idea, but the last time I tried that, I was on a hour long CR with a Cleric and SK to loc my corpse in OOT (I died in the water running before I found out I should have lev'd). Also it is soo lonely quad-kiting. What should I try?...Any suggestions appreciated!!

I LOVE that you're a grouping druid. I dunno, I can't relate as well with soloers. I grouped with shack, and my goodness i was amazed at the quad kiting thing, and the exp! and he didn't get hit once! But i didn't know what to do, i felt very useless, and had to follow him everywhere cuz there's really no "camp spot" for kiters i think.
But if you have to, i think cs is a good place cuz you don't get aggros (normally). And the zone is very close, if you have to zone. How'd you die in OOT?
And why is it that druids would get more exp soloing? Isn't the downtime so long that grouping would be better?

I did many a soloing with Vegabond. I suggest practicing in the wide open lands of velious or even do HG's in RM. Snare, Root, Dot, Dot, on ur bum, repeat. its cake....root is kinda iffy but hey thats what SoW is for zoooom u cant catch me.
Also feel free to come mooch Clarity off of Alkisti when ever u want. She will be in DL for a while so u could just bind there and then port to GD and go nuts =^p. Also anyone else in the guild feel free to bum me for some crack......orrr crack me for some bum......some bum for crack?

why would you get more exp soloing then grouping? If you go to velks, and get into a group with 6 people (and velks groups seem to always be full), you get a 20% exp bonus on top of the exp you would already get.
As far as soloing... It's different for each class. I do believe for druids it is snare, dot, root, med. Reapply root when it breaks, so you can med while it's dotted.

having a 51 druid as well as my ranger, let me tell ya soloing
with the druid bites, and bites hard. it is so damn boring it's
not even funny.
find yourself a nice six person group in karnors, sebilis, velk's,
or anyplace...hell even get yourself a partner. find a melee
and let em tank for ya. you would not beleive some of the
things trystain and i have killed with just the two of us going
after it **can you say named level 55 chromdrac in skyfire**
if you have the desire to solo...
CS is ok but it gets crowded fast, there are a LOT of quadders
out there so targerts can get thin fast. burning woods is a
great zone with a ton of targets to choose from. get to level
54 with your new dot and skyfire becomes doable as well.

i can solo all of 2 mobs before i go insane and have to move on.... and quading is not my bag.... grouping is the way to go. downtime with solo is too much... you wind up makeing more exp in a group. i still solo a little but ive pretty much grouped all the time as well. groupin is way better.

I would like to say that there is a time and place for soloing as a caster though...
I find that when I'm "working" at home, I can solo a couple blues on a full mana bar, then sit and med for 8 minutes while I do other things around the house. And I will say this... I gain experience faster this way than when I group in the same zones. In other words, in an outdoor zone where there is no or little exp modifier, I seem to gain exp faster when I solo than when I group up. Having a mana regen pet and the harvest spell affects this too, both of which are unavailable to a druid. Once I get Jboots or equivalent, I'll be able to quad kite, and then exp will be better than even the best group in the best dungeon.
That being said, A Da Hui group is usually very exp friendly, and relatively safe, not to mention much more fun, so is always my first option when I'm playing full time. But I have no problems with soloing for a couple hours then joining a bunch of guildies for a mini raid later on. I avoid pickup groups almost all the time, as they often end in death, and are usually no more talkative than if I were soloing.
So my advice is, find good Da Hui groups first, effecient soloing second, and lastly pickup groups.

I will add this to the earlier statments soloability depends on your lag if its laggy you will die soloing if not you weill reap mega exp alone in an outdoor area i will get the same exp as a 6 person group in a dungeon but i dont have to deal with worrieing if my gropmates will get me killed 90 percent of my deaths in a group were do to people freaking in a bbad situation 90 percent of deaths soloing tho are due to lag when its not laggy i get the same exp in the same amount of time with no worrieing and with all the loot if i can find a group with someonne i know and trust i would perfer that but if not soloing is the way to go not to mention i have nice setup so i can play games while in down time got a 27 inch tv ps2 ps dreamcast stereo gba nes snes genisis and dvd close enough to play without leaving my computer chair hehe
