Alias (possible spoilers)
Well, in my new trend i'm going to start, i shall be recommending a band, or tv show or film and giving reasons to watch.

The 1st thread is about Alias, i don't know how many of you know of this...so if you do...Feel free topitch in, i shall try to keep spoilers to a bare minimum

So...the basic premise, is that Syd Bristow (jennifer Garner) is a secret agent, who works for SD-6....she soon learns how-ever that this is not the real cia. And so, her aim, is to bring down SD-6.

The show's 1st season is very arc heavy, so i suggest dvd buying here(or dare i say it..downloading them until the sales are on the dvd boxset). I brought my dvd off amazon for £20, bargin.

The characters are well rounded, cleverly written and cosistant in their behavious, with syd bristow showing us not only a spyaction side, but my fave part of this show, are the more real elements, the drama, the heartache.

However, it's the two old hands, Ron rifkin and Victor garber, who (throughout the show) show everyone how to play it. Their roles are fantastic, and their portrayal of such are nothing short of superb.

The music for the show feels, at times, like a feature film, and the special effects are quite good for a tv show. With thick and faced pacing, some very good plot turns and twistsd (most of seasons two's twists i never saw coming).

I suggest you watch

Re: Alias (possible spoilers)
Welcome aboard the Alias Express. Alias is the new buffy for me, cause Buffy was all about the relationships and the heartbreak, with the main theme of the show playing out in the background. Those who are more interested in the stunts/fighting, it gives Buffy a run for its money, Alias has the advantage cause Jennifer does the majority of her stunts:bow Ron and Victor are fantastic in the show i agree, they provide the seriousness a how needs i think, and you can always rely on Marshall for the comedy. As for emotional moments, my favourite, season 1 finale, when Arvin Sloane tells his wife Emily, the truth, the scene at the beach where the dialogue cuts out, and all you here is Natalie Merchant song My Skin, which is in itself fantastic, you see the emotion carried over, and you don't need to hear the words they're saying because the final part of that scene is phenominal, the actress who plays Emily (I forget sorry) is outstanding.

Amy Irving thats her, thanx, t'was buggin me andcouldn't find a name on Alias site or IMDB. Don't forget Justin Theroux, of Charlies Angels: Full throttle fame, and (i might be wrong,) Rodrigo Santoro, i recall something of him and Alias, unless i got him mixed with Justin. And some british bloke called Ricky Gervais apparently... never heard of him:\

Ricky Gervias is somewhat a cult hit over here. He had a hit show called "the office" and he won golden globes for it in the usa..he turned down the simpsons and chose alias.

Alias
Alias is great. I discovered this and The West Wing this year and have been impressed by both. I had an indication that Alias was the best thing on TV that I wasn't watching. Now I've seen to the end of season 2. I was extremely surprised by that major event that happened about 8 episodes from the end ;)

Re: Alias
8 eps from the end.....hmmm......

i think the best of of season 2 is episode 13, called phase one.

It marks the change from the past, and shaping the future, with a stunning and shokcing twist at the end (well it shocked me ok).

I think this might be the one you're tlaking about boyo.

Re: Alias
Either way it was a good one. It started with me wondering what was wrong with the red one too.

Yep it's Phase One then. And I agree, the ending is shocking.

I missed a couple of episodes towards the end of Season 2, but the Finale was stunning. Longest fight scene between 2 female leads on tv apparently.

Re: Alias
yeah, and very much tarantino inspisred methinks.

A stunning fight, and you have to watch the eps you missed, builds up into it.

But yes, Phase one is a stunning episode. twists and turns (written by the creator..who writes the best ones i think).

The twist at the end of series 2, is nothing short of fantastic

and having just watched the series 3 finale.....it's not on par...but damn it's good. Grrrr

Re: Alias
with Angel finishing in three weeks, i'm trying to keep something to look forward to during the summer months, so as tempting as it is, i'm not gonna download Alias eps. I need it to keep me sane.
