An Old Friend and Still a Fan!!
Hello Danny,
This is Steph G. from Florida A&M University. If the initials throw you off, your lighting designer friend from the Essential Theatre back in Tallahassee. I happen to come across this board it after receiving an email about your latest project. I hope that you really do read this board.
The last time that we spoke, you were finishing up school in New York. I've been following your career from the WB's "DC"...50 Most Beautiful People...the movies, etc. WOW, what a career you have been having over the past few years! This comes as no surprise because you were extremely talented at FAMU and now you're even more talented today!!!
I came across a Post-it note that I asked you to autograph for me when we were working on some project down in Famu's costume shop years ago. I knew then that you were going to be BIG TIME, so I had to capture that moment. I also came across some pictures that I took of you and Anika Noni Rose when we did "Checkmates". She's another one that has hit BIG TIME. For anyone that's reading this thread, Anika won a 2004 Tony this year for the play "Caroline, or Change". She's also in this month's Essence magazine.
Danny, I'm still into my lighting design and I've lived in Los Angeles for seven years now. I was sad that I missed the screening of the movie last night (12/4/04) in West Hollywood. I don't know if you were there or not, but I'm told that the director and cast did a special Q&A session after one of the showings.
Congratulations and I wish you nothing but continued success. I pray that you keep up the GREAT work that you do. Make us fans proud to say that we are Daniel Sunjata fans. Much, Much love to you!!!
I know the schedule is very busy for you, but I'd love to catch up with you again either here in LA or NY, or even by email. Could you reply to this thread?
