Promoting her self-titled debut album due in stores September 25 and her single “Always Getting Over You” from the American Pie 2 soundtrack.
She had a dream:
“[My career is] kind of like a childhood dream, like you see on TV, like ‘Wow, I wish I could do that!’ But, I never thought I could. I didn’t have the confidence for it until years later when things started happening, and I was like ‘Oh, my god! I can’t believe this is happening to me out of everyone I know!’ So, I’m very, very grateful for it.”

She was discovered when a Mary Kay makeup saleswoman heard her singing through an apartment door. It turned out the woman was an accountant for a lady whose husband taught at a music institute with a man who grew up with someone who works at her record label.
What about Kathie Lee?
“I like writing for other people, as well. In fact, I think one of my dreams is to hear somebody huge sing one of my songs on the radio. Like, it would be cool if Madonna sang one of my songs, or even Britney Spears. That would be really cool.”
