June 1st - June 19th
It's almost summer! The last few weeks of school have come, and students will need to study hard for their final exams! Don't let up yet, or your grades won't be what you want them to. Of course, the weather is almost perfect and pristine, in attempts to lure students away from their studies.
Took me long enough... Anyway, people playing students, please keep in mind that your students probably won't accomplish any Apparitions today, so keep it realistic. They might feel a jerk or fall over or something or maybe someone might get splinched, but the odds are unlikely. Reread pg. 382 through 386 in The Half-Blood Prince if you've forgotten how things went. As for Heads of Houses, you're not required to post them, but if you wish to, you may. There probably won't be much for them to do, except make sure people are paying attention or, in the unlikely chance someone is splinched, reattach their limb or whatever.

Nervous? Oh yes. Nervous was an understatement to how Harry was feeling and he wouldn't have put it passed him to pass out. Or run out of the door. After all, the students hadn't begun arriving yet, so he still had some time to make a run for it without anyone noticing. And who could blame him? It had been ten years since he'd been at Hogwarts last and it wasn't as if those last few memories were warm and fuzzy for the former boy wonder. Harry had also somewhat vanished from the public view for a few years and he was sure he'd be oggled at plenty and he had never been one to really enjoy all the fame and attention. Just like when he first had his apparition lessons, he doubted the students would be told who their Apparition instructor was, so when they saw him or when he said his name, there would probably be some surprised gasps and murmuring Harry wished he could just drown out.
Hell, he just wished he didn't have to be here at all. This definitely hadn't been in his job description.
When Harry had accepted the job the Ministry had offered him, it was to teach aspiring Aurors, not teenagers. At least adults, for the most part, could control themselves, but students were all over the place, not to mention there were some who just didn't want to pay attention. He supposed he would be hypocritical if he said teenagers were too moody for his taste, but they were. All of those unbalanced hormones did seem to make them a bit crazy and well, Harry had never been all that great with kids. He wasn't all that great with people in general, and the fact that these people were probably scatter-brained and unstable didn't make anything better. It certainly didn't make Harry feel all that great, despite the fact he did have quite a bit of teaching experience now. He wouldn't call himself a "fun" teacher after all and well, teenagers did tend to have very short attention spans.
Tapping his wand nervously against his leg, Harry decided he needed to do something so, instead, wandered around the Great Hall making sure everything was in place. Soon enough, the Heads of Houses entered the room and Harry greeted them, attempting to hide his anxiety. He believed he did a fairly good job at that, but he wasn't certain. But, not wanting to risk the chance of showing his complete and utter terror, Harry continued to assess the room. All the tables and benches were gone, leaving the floor cleared of anything and everythting. It was dark and cloudy outside, even at this time in the afternoon, and the clouds were emmulated in the room as well -- the magical ceiling swirled with eerie clouds that looked as though they would release rain or snow any minute.
Finally, the students began to slowly trickle in in small groups. Harry felt his heart racing, but he kept his cool and stood amongst the Heads of Houses, watching as the students gathered in front of them. His dull green eyes scanned the faces of the students, realizing he didn't recognize any of them. Of course, that shouldn't have been a surprise, for it wasn't as if he often socialized with underaged witches and wizards. He was sure none of the people he knew when he went to Hogwarts had kids that would be sixth years (he would be very very frightened if they did), so he supposed it was only natural that he didn't know anyone. But it was just so weird, seeing these kids all grouped together when it felt like Harry had been one of those wide-eyed faces not too long ago. He looked at them and expected to see his peers -- Ron, Hermione, Lavender, Parvati, Dean, Seamus... but these faces that stared back at him were strangers.
"Good afternoon," Harry said. The students were all assembled in front of him and had been quieted by the other professors and were (hopefully) now intently staring at him. Of course, he was sure there were some who were probably staring intently at his forehead instead. "My name's Harry Potter and for the next twelve or so weeks, I'm going to be your Ministry Apparition Instructor." Just as Harry had expected, a low murmur broke out amongst the students and they had to be quieted down again. "And at the end of those twelve weeks, most of you, hopefully, will be taking the test to get your licenses.
"Now, as most of you know, the Hogwarts grounds are enchanted so as not to allow Apparition or Disapparition on the premises. If you didn't know that, well, you're a bit behind, I'm afraid," Harry said with a wry grin. "But the headmaster has lifted the enchantment in the Great Hall for the alotted time, so as to allow us to continue with our lesson. Of course, after this lesson is finished, the enchantment will be replaced, so I advise you not to attempt to Apparate once you leave this lesson." Harry rubbed his hands together, just so he had something to do with his hands. "But before we get started, are there any general questions?"
The man braced himself for questions about his personal life or his past, but he was hoping that at least some students would have something logical to ask.

Apparating. Oh Merlin, it was something so untouchable that Tucker had been wanting to do since he had gotten to Hogwarts and learned what it was back in his first year. It was the one thing that muggles wished they could do. Disappear, and reappear exactly where they needed to do. Imagine the convenience! You could leave a total of two seconds before you needed to arrive at work! No driving commute, no walking commute, no bloody bus, no stupid bicycle... Life was going to be good. No doubt about that. Well, hopefully. That was if Tucker could figure out how to disappear and reassemble himself in one piece. He didn't fancy splinching himself that day, but you couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't happen. Oh man, the pain.
"Good afternoon," an adult voice addressed the students. Tucker looked over in a bored manner, but once he caught sight of their new teacher, his jaw dropped to the floor. Bloody hell! It was... "My name's Harry Potter and for the next twelve or so weeks, I'm going to be your Ministry Apparition Instructor." Habba...wibba...whooba... How the bloody hell did they get Harry Potter at Hogwarts to teach Apparition lessons to a bunch of snot-nosed sixth years? Seriously! Wasn't he an Auror on a much higher scale than that? Didn't he have enough money to settle down in a huge mansion on top of a huge hill? You would think as much... "And at the end of those twelve weeks, most of you, hopefully, will be taking the test to get your licenses.

Questions started to explode in Tucker's mind. Like hell he had questions for him! He was the famous Harry Potter! Tucker was in the presence of royalty for crying out loud! But he kept his mouth shut, knowing that the famous Harry Potter probably didn't want to answer questions like "What did You-Know-Who look like?" or "Did you SERIOUSLY bang our History of Magic professor?!" If word got back to Professor Weasley, she would probably kill Tucker without holding back. But seriously...it was a fair enough question.
So for now, Tucker kept his mouth shut, and waited for the lesson to proceed.

Jesse could hardly contain his excitement. Finally he was going to learn how to apparate. He was always amazed at the ease with which his father would just pop into the kitchen or just vanish with a quick, "Well, I'm off to work." Now it was his turn.
He found himself wondering vaguely what splinching would be like. Would he bea able to wriggle his fingers if he left a hand behind? Well, it was as likely as not that he was going to find out.
HE entered the Great Hall and noticed that the tables had alkl been cleared away. HE stared straight ahead as the other sixth years crowded into the Hall. There, at the front, was it ---Harry Potter? Coule it be?" THere was no mistaking it. There was the all too recognisable lightning bolt scar.
ooc> I'll post more later. I have to go to class now. I'm really sorry.
