We have added a few things to the requirements to power and ability upgrades. Be sure and read the details in the most recent update when you request a new power / upgrade.
Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

Back Alleys and Bedrooms (Hellsy)
Hawthorne was wandering through the seedier part of the downtown Buffalo area. She passed by the rather seedy nightcub known as the Shattered Blessing. Idly examining it, she wondered whether or not she should go in. It was late, long after midnight, and the place was prolly closing soon anyways, at least she assumed that that was how it would work.
Tonight she was back in her original clothing, ripped jeans, Cannibal Corpse t-shirt, spikes at wrists and collared around her neck, and big silver hoops hanging out all over her face. She was looking for trouble, or maybe even a fight, she didn't know. All she knew is that she had revealed a part of herself that she didn't like to share, and she was angry.
Still, the girl wasn't sure whether she was comfortable enough to go inside the nightclub. She had heard rumours that Sakura worked there, but she wasn't sure if she would run into anyone else from the school, and what kinda student would hang around a place like this. She looked around and then decided to approach the door.
Information. there was no seedier or better place to get it than the Shattered Blessing. Vash was doing his now bi-nightly rounds and decided to stop in to get some good information. His prime informant was the wall of a bouncer, Stone! His broad physique, those cold eyes with that frozen stare, and his grim expression gave him the perfect look for his occupation. His personality, however, was slightly skewed towards helpful; at least, once you got to know him. He could give anyone a hard time, but he was still a nice guy to those who deserved it.
In any case, the two were now talking about recent events, catching up with eachother as Stone knew almost every MHS student on campus. He was well versed in their unique talents, to say the very least. He accepted their lifestyles, though, and freely gave the information Vash asked for. the two were having quite the conversation when Hawthorne stepped up to the door.
"Hey, kid, I'll need some I.D.!" Stone said, sliding infront of the door and crossing his arms for added effect.

Re: Back Alleys and Bedrooms (Hellsy) "Hey, kid, I'll need some I.D.!"
The bouncer addressing her made up Hawthorne's mind. She hated being carded. It didn't matter that she was underage, she knew she looked older. Nonchallantly she fished out her fake ID. It had never been questioned yet. After all, Drewe's buddy had done this for a living for a very long time. It was even her picture on the damned thing. It was even close to the expiry date, just to make it believable.
"No prob, zhaagnaash. Here ya go."
She sighed and flipped her spiked bracelet around on her wrist, appearing completely bored with the situation. After all, she'd done it half a million times over the years. While waiting for the bouncer to approve her ID, she examined the guy beside him. He looked a little older than her actual age, but she figured he had to be a student, unless former members of the school made a habit of staying close by when they graduated.
The Ojibwe girl was getting fidgety. She wasn't impressed with how her decision here had been forced. She woulda rather had a chance to think about the options available. Thorne almost asked for her ID to be returned, but the boy was there so she couldn't back out now, there was her reputation to think about.
Re: Back Alleys and Bedrooms (Hellsy)
Stone took the ID, snatching it out of her hand forcefully. His eyes scanned the card carefully, veteran's eyes to any studying his technique. The bouncer then smirked in a pleased manner before crushing the card with one hand, afterwhich he tore it into pieces. He then let the pile of plastic flutter to the ground before looking back at Hawthorne, the smirk still on his face.
"Crazy kid..." he said in his deep, gruff voice. "Just don't cause any trouble, y'here?"
Vash, on the other hand, couldn't help but chuckle at the situation. She had obviously never been to the Shattered Blessing before if she tried to use a fake ID. Stone was an expert at these sorts of things, almost super human in his own respects. Maybe that was why the students of MHS always gave him so much respect when they entered the bar. In any case, the dunpeal decided that the girl might want a companion after seeing her give him a once over with a quick and curious glance.
"I suppose you are new here?" he asked in his thick Romanian accent.

Hawthorne watched the bouncer study the ID, before he destroyed it. She raised her pierced eyebrow at the big man. He seemed rather pleased with himself as the laminated card bits drifted to the ground. She crossed her spike-adorned arms in front of her. She wasn't threatening or anything, more like mildly amused.
"Crazy kid..."
"Just don't cause any trouble, y'here?"
"Sure buddy, but I hope you're gonna pay to replace that, or at least buy me a drink. They ain't cheap, and I'm not exactly a rich kid."
The boy beside the large man chuckled at her predicament, and she turned her gaze to look the boy over a second time. He gave her a curious glance, appearing to look her over, she gave him a saucy smirk and stuck her pierced tongue out at him, the little happy face winking in and out of the light.

"I suppose you are new here?"
The boy's accent was almost as stand-outtish as her own was in this little American corner. She gave him a small smile, nearly a smirk, but not quite, and put her hand on her hip.
"I guess I am, since this is my first visit to the seedy underbelly of the city. I'm sure most students manage to make it down here within their first few days at the school."
Re: Back Alleys and Bedrooms (Hellsy)
"Student, are we?" he asked rehtorically. "I suppose you are from Manga High, then?"
The last one wasn't rehtorical. Though he was almost sure that's what she ment, the students of MHS came in all shapes and sizes. From quiet bookworms to punk rockers, campus life there had a wide diversity of experiences and people to give them out. It was a refreshing life style, though it became difficult to tell who was a student and who wasn't at some points. It was especially important to remember that since Manga High was no ordinary school.
In any case, Vash walked up to the door and swung it open. The sounds of the bar spilled out into the night air, filling the scene with the drunk debauchary that was so common to the Shattered Blessing. Smoke creeped out from the dark hole of a bar, trailing off into the sky. Vash simply looked at the girl with a smirk and bowed slightly, gesturing for her to enter.
"After you."

Re: Back Alleys and Bedrooms (Hellsy) "Student, are we?"
"I suppose you are from Manga High, then?"
She examined the boy, trying to place his accent, but it escaped her. Oh well, it wasn't like she was fully experienced with many different cultures, so it wasn't surprising that she couldn't figure out an accent.
"I do, I take it you do as well?"
She had never seen a student that looked quite like the boy in front of her. She didn't stress about it though. The boy was kind enough to hold the door for her after all. It was funny that the bouncer let her in, despite her fake ID, but she wasn't one to question good fortune. She inhaled the whiff of smoke that snaked out through the door, images of her past flashing through her mind like a slide show.
The bow was a slightly outdated, though gentlemanly gesture. She smirked at the irony of that. After all, the pair of teens wasn't exactly wandering into a place known for the higher mannerisms of life. She gave the boy a little curtsey.
"After you."
"Thanks."
She sauntered into the bar, taking in the new scenery. Manidoo, but it looked a lot like the dives that Drewe used to own, operate, and deal in. How many times had she sat at bars just like that, trying to pretend she wasn't there? Too many to count. She turned to the boy who had welcomed her into the demisne of depravity.
"Can I buy you a drink, my gallant escort? Or are you too old fashioned to accept a purchase from a female?"
Re: Back Alleys and Bedrooms (Hellsy)
"Of course" he replied while keeping the door open. "Why would someone dressed like I am not be?"
He gave a small wink and a chuckle after his small comment. Then she gave a small curtsey to his small geasture of kindness. Either in jest or sincerity (maybe even both) he wasn't sure, but it was nice that she at least noticed. Americans were so rude sometimes, especially in New York. Afterwards, he simply slipped into the bar, giving Stone one last tip of his hat in thanks to the information. Stone just nodded once, keeping his classic tough guy persona.
"Can I buy you a drink, my gallant escort? Or are you too old fashioned to accept a purchase from a female?"
Vash raised an eyebrow, smirking a little at her offer. Obviously she was new around here. In this place, the men were tough, brave and chivalrous while the women were cute, kind and spoiled. It was a breath of fresh air, however and the dunpeal would simply have to adjust. This particular girl seemed to be very independant. It was intriguing, which might have been why Vash had offered his company in the first place. Or it could have been the chivalrous thing...
"If you feel so inclined, it would be fine, though you are correct in saying that I am, how you would say, 'old fashioned.' "

Re: Back Alleys and Bedrooms (Hellsy) "Of course"
"Why would someone dressed like I am not be?"
She trilled a little laugh at his statement, a little out of character with her outfit, but that was all right. Thorny was tough enough that she didn't really need to be macho 100% of the time. Besides, he was amusing, and the girl was sore pressed for amusement these days.
He smirked at her offer to buy him a drink, and Haw blew a little air out her nose in frustration. Jun-Bo had done something similar when she had offered to pay for their meal at the restaurant, but she had won him over to her way of thinking then as well, this boy would be no different. Vash had done her a courtesy, and had behaved like a gentleman to boot, and she had her own opinions on how a female rewarded kindly fellows, which did not involve her body.
"If you feel so inclined, it would be fine, though you are correct in saying that I am, how you would say, 'old fashioned.' "
"I have noticed that many of the males at MHS tend towards the old-fashioned niceties, it isn't what I'm used to at all, though I am trying to adapt. We girls will just have to teach you that we too can be tough, especially those of us who have eschewed the role of cutesy little arm candy."
It was obvious that she was talking about herself, for there were few places that the punk-rock piercing image was taken as being adorable, though the building that they had just entered may be one of them. Still, she held herself mostly like a man, and if there was a bit of a sway to her hips, the oversized jeans Hawthorne wore disguised them a goodly bit.
She moved quickly over towards the bar, making sure that she didn't leave the other teen behind her, and perched gamely on a stool. Catching the attention of the bartender, Thorne smiled, flashing her pearlies to full affect.
"I need a double Jack Daniels, no rocks, and . . . " She waved the dunpeal over. "Whatever this fella wants."
