Putting Words in God's Mouth

Its a dangerous thing to be putting words in God's mouth. There are times people will come to you and ask you to pray for them, and seek a Word from God. Sometimes they will want you to come forth with a prophecy from a prophetic dream. Unless God says it, and its confirmed in your heart it is to be released, be careful you are clear that you are speaking from your own self, and not as God's mouthpiece in the moment.

It happens to us all at some point or another. We will speak out of turn and end up paying the price like Paul did when he cast the divining spirit out of the woman without her agreement. He immediately had trouble. We have enough trouble, we don't need to invite any!


When you believe you have something from the Lord to share with others follow a few simple checkpoints.

1. Is this to be released now?
2. Am I sure this is what God is saying?
3. Who is supposed to be released to if #1 is yes
4. What is the timing of the release if #1 is yes

Just because we have a operational gift of the Spirit, and just because we have accuracy, keep guard over your heart to be obedient to Him in all things, and to not be pressured into using the gift " as a reward or pressure release- gratification, pride, fear of man". Balaam was a prophet. He was a false prophet because his heart wasn't right before the Lord EVEN THOUGH he was an accurate prophet. Be careful of what you may be giving up in the process of putting words in God's Mouth.
