Haven't started Chapter 7 yet, been trying to think up what to do in the way of developing Cotton a bit more or screwing this other Chargon around.

Man I suck o.o

Call of the Dragon Chapter 2

I flew around for quite a while before my thoughts straightened out. Everywhere seemed to be tainted by the human paws, ruing everything that the worlds could offer. Even high in the cotton of the parrot like Swablu, pained screams from human and Pokemon alike can be heard. Sometimes my own being can be a curse in it’s self in such a plagued world. As I wheel round again and hover. Staring at the dark pits of humanity, I feel I must seek out another friend, one who hasn’t fallen to the onslaught. I pray he is still alive. His name would be Iron Claw, one of the strongest of the Arcanine clans that lay scattered in the lands. They live in an old burrow, untouched by the cramp conditions. They once lived far from the humans, offering service to those once known as Officer Jenny. When the darkness came, the Jenny’s of the world but a law protector were quickly murdered and taken out of the puzzle. It saddens me greatly; they knew how to treat us right.

It doesn’t take me long to glide to he tree that stands as a door way to Iron Claw’s den. Now they are bordering the human dens, I worry that he may have been taken by surprise. I land by the tree, carefully placing my paws upon the tangle of roots that poke out of the earth so I don’t slip. I lower my head so my horn doesn’t point with its tip so I can gently bang my head upon the tree’s body. My horn sits above my eyes, long and scarred though a deadly weapon when I must use it. Once it looked as though formed out of one of Ho-oH’s golden tail feathers but the years have cut it down to a mute bronze. I wait patiently for an answer.

‘Who are you, friend or foe?’ I voice unfamiliar snarls.
‘Friend. I seek my friend Iron Claw’
‘Speak your name stranger.’ The voice continues to growl.
‘To those who give me one, it would be Chargon.’ The voice growls a little longer then fades.
‘Very well your scent does not cross those of human contact. You may enter.’
I step back to allow part of the tree’s body to swing open and quickly dart inside and pull it closed with my tail. The Arcanine who stood before me is very different from the one I know. His hide is a shade darker and his claws that peer away from his paws are coated clear with a little pink than the black I am used to. The stripes form bands around its body instead of the more rounded stripes of iron Claw. He growls again and nods his head behind where he stands then turns around and slowly pads down the dim tunnel with his tattered crème paw tufts trailing upon the ground with his low held tail. I follow, more cautious and keeping my wings wrapped tight against my body and ducking trailing roots hanging around as though half done decoration.

Within the main area, some light drifts from the worn roof. Upon small tree bodies, two Growlithe pups sit waiting. Their tongues loll over their crème muzzle fur while their eyes twinkle with youth. Their chest fur looks scuffled, as are their blunted front claws though their size shows how young these little ones are. Their stripes haven’t formed yet, their dark brown fur still has no trace of them coming through yet. Near them sits a quite feminine face, quiet though beautiful in her own way. Her body looks tired, weary though her eyes still show her youth and beauty with a blue sparkle. Though covered in dust her coat shines with unmatched color though masked and hidden from the world. I receive no longer to look as the one from before appears again and places himself in the middle of the den. His whiskers bristle and his black tipped ears remain perked as he stares at me with a cold gaze.
‘You said you seek Iron Claw did you not?’ I nod with silence.
‘I regret to say you have come too late. My brother fell to the claws of those wolf packs little more than a week ago. He fought hard till the end and gave honor to his clan.’
‘May I ask who you are then? I know this to only belong to Iron Claw and no other.’ The Arcanine chuckles.
‘You have not seen him in a while have you Dragon? I am Iron Claw’s younger brother, Fire Fur. These others you see would be my mate Sapphire Eyes and my two pups, Little Flame and Tiger Claw.’ I nod to each in greeting and they do in return including the strangely silent cubs.

‘We are what’s left of this clan now, the humans have seen to that. If it was not for my brother the last of my family would have also fallen to those shadow fangs. Before your arrival we went over what be our last stand against the humans.’
‘Last stand? I hope you don’t plan on wasting your life in a futile assault on the blood driven Mightyena.’ My eyes fill with concern as I look into his frozen gaze.
‘It is the only way my family will live.’ He growls. I look over to Sapphire Eyes who is wiping a tear away with her paw.
‘You’re not planning to let him go through with this are you my dear lady?’ she smiles faintly.
‘What kind of mate would allow their other to watch their family fall to the fangs of the darkness? I wish for our cubs to grow in a world free of this evil, as it was when my great grandmother brought forth her own cubs.’ She hangs her head against her chest, hiding the tears rolling from her eyes.
‘If he does go out, there is little chance of any of you getting away let alone with two young cubs. Those wolves are too fast, you’ll never get away fast enough!’ Her mate snarls.
‘It won’t be for nothing! They still thirst for the brother of this clan and I’ll give it to them to save my family from suffering more than they have already! I will avenge my fallen brother and save what I have left to fight for!’ I withdraw slightly.
‘Are you sure you will go through with this? The hunters are close, I can almost sense it in my paws.’
‘Yes we are ready.’ He pads over to me and looks over to the cubs and his mate. ‘You better take your leave now. I wish all the goodness that still guards these worlds to protect you all. Be strong because you are part of the Iron Claw Clan never forget that.’ He turns away from Sapphire, unable to look at her fading form with two pups playfully chasing after her, still oblivious of what is to come.

‘Dragon, could you come with me a moment? I wish to show you something before my time rounds for it’s final time.’ I nod and follow him back up the tunnel to where I had entered, pausing only to allow him to nudge the latch out of the way with his nose. We both step out, catching the feeble breeze passing through the still air.
‘Yes they indeed come. I hope my family have enough time to escape.’ His eyes look almost glassy at the faded darkness gradually running towards up followed by the silver’s shots.
‘Do you see the dark one, the one with a scar crossing over his eye?’ I look over the wolves, trying to target the one he mentioned. My eyes lock onto the one Fire Fur speaks of.
‘Yes he leads the pack and looks more scar ridden than any of his followers.’
‘That one is called Silver Fang; he was the one who delivered the final strike to my brother’s throat. I will take him down; I will avenge my brother’s soul. It will be my final gift by taking out one of the most dangerous of their numbers.’
‘I wish you luck my friend, you’ll doing your fallen brother proud.’ He smiles.
‘’I wish you luck on your own path Dragon. Keep our memories safe.’
‘Always.’ I say with a final smile.

With a final smile, Fire Fur runs as fast as a true Arcanine of the Iron Claw Clan is able to. His fur melts into a blur and he runs headlong and proud to his final battle.
‘Always’ I whisper again. I spread my wings and shake the dust away, flapping them hard and returning once more to the skies.
‘Fight hard, my friend.’ Within the next instant, I am lost to the hunters, leaving a true warrior to the end to die for his family.

Another tear falls, a tear for a life.

I have nothing for you so get the hell outta my room! *bonk and more carriot related bonks*
