Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.

"Hmm, this seems like a nice place to relax..."
Looking around, the young man known as Devlin Fragston bent down and fell backwards, rolling onto his back so that no harm would be done due to his failure to catch himself. Pushing himself back up, the Sophomore's hands sunk softly into the deep green grass surrounding the calm glistening waters of Lake Nica. Devlin's eyes rotated from one side to another, taking in the scene in front of him. Breathing in the fresh air, Devlin hadn't even realized what a nice day it was. A slight breeze blew towards the lake, pushing the student's dirty blonde hair forward over his face, blocking his view. Reaching upwards with his left hand, he pushed the hair back behind his face, mentally cursing his long hair, knowing the only reason he had it was because it was the only hairstyle he looked good with.
It was a truly was nice day out. The temperature was only about seventy degrees outside, a perfect day to be out and walking around. Devlin noticed as he looked up that the sky was nearly completely blue; the only thing preventing that were the three or four wandering cumulus clouds. Waves pulsed across the surface of the water, a sign indicating that the breeze was affecting the path of water as well as the fact that there were fish in the lake's depths. The breeze didn't only affect Devlin's hair and the water; the grass also moved back and forth gently as if rocking back and forth listening to their own silent form of music.

"Oh...another soul..." said a gentle voice from behind. For a nice day, the pristine white-winged girl still wore her signature black dress of white lace trim and ruffles. The ribbons in her copper blond-hair were just as dark and smooth as satin. A parasol of black lace rested on her shoulder, providing a shade of flower patterns from the sun.
Amber had almost decided not to come along, but the lake continued to beckon to her even in her own dreams. Every morning she would come and stare deep into the dark eyes of her reflection, yet nothing would come. She had arrived here again with a similar reason and instead she found an unfamiliar person enjoying a calm day at the lake. Her dark eyes glance left, right then settled on the young man for a silent moment.
"I'm sorry, I hope I didn't disturb you," she finally spoke again, ending her sentence with a slight curtsy.

The young man jumped slightly, not expecting anyone to actually talk to him. The man's body rotated to the left to see who was speaking to him. Seeing it was a girl, it took Devlin a moment or two to respond.
"Oh, uh, no. Don't worry about it," Devlin stammered. It was quite obvious in his speech that he was surprised. In the back of his mind, however, the sophomore welcomed the company that this person would bring. He would finally have someone to talk to at the school. In that moment, the young student realized that he had no friends here. Shaking off the bad thought before he could start feeling lonely, a smile appeared on Fragston's face. This was the perfect opportunity for him to make his first friend at Manga High School.
"So, uh, why are you here? Just admiring nature like me?"

The winged girl flashed a smile, half the reason being that she did not find what the dreams told her. Her eyes stared over the placid lake; the weather was perfect and she felt instantly calmed. The large boulder where she would normally sit late in the night or early in the morning still rested between the water and the land. Amber decided not to sit there and instead chose to sit next to the young man. Her dark dress flared out in gentle waves of ruffles as she sat down and she rested her lace parasol across her lap.
"I come here often...usually at night when I can't sleep."
She looked at him, tilting her head slightly in a cute and quizzical manner.

Itami had been at the lake for quite a while. She had watched and listened in to the the boy and girl that were a bit a ways away from her. She recognized the girl as Amber. She had seen her at the sleepover. But that didn't mean she was going to get out of her comfy spot to conversate.
She was laying down on the lakes bank, with her feet dangling in the water. Her shoes were sitting neatly next to her, with a sock folded neatly into each one. She smiled soflty as the sun shone down upon her.

And just with words, painful memories can be brought back to life. For Devlin, a picture of his late parents flashed into his mind. There was a reason he didn't like to talk about where he was from; this was exactly it. Finally noticing that he hadn't answered, Fragston shook his head a little.
"Oh, sorry... I'm from Nevada. I don't really remember the town where I grew up when I was little, but I lived in Vegas before coming here."
The truth was, he just used the excuse of not knowing to mask the fact that he really knew. He knew well. He had trained himself to say he didn't remember where he and his parents were from so that he didn't have to think or talk about them. Nevertheless, thinking about his childhood friend Saymo created a small smile across his face.
"So, how about you?"

If the winged girl seemed a little nervous before, it would not be apparent now.
"Nevada...you're the first person I met from there. How nice!" she said with a smile, "I moved from Los Angeles, but I don't consider it home exactly. Not a bad place, but I prefer to live somewhere more peaceful."
Half the truth, there was a lot more layered beneath what she said. He seemed like a nice young man, she thought to herself, and she was grateful that she didn't get an awkward stare from him. Amber suddenly bowed her head, just realizing she had forgotten to say something out of courtesy.
"Oh, I'm sorry...I'm Amber. It's good to meet you."

Realizing that he hadn't even mentioned his name, Devlin reached backwards with his right arm and scratched his head for a second before stopping and pulling his arm back to his side.
"And I'm Devlin. Nice to meet you, too. Now that I think about it, you're the first person I've really talked to around here."
There was pure truth behind his words; Devlin hadn't even made any friends, something very unusual for him. Usually, he had friends everywhere, but all of them were normal. Not everyone had a metal blade in their arm. Then again, Devlin remembered, most people here pretty much were normal. The only difference between Manga High School students and regular students was that MHS students were "gifted."
"So, California... Never been there myself. Vegas isn't the best place to live, either. All there is there is sex, drugs, and gambling."

She nods at him when he remarked that she had been the first person he spoke to in the school. Likewise, Amber was not too good with meeting new people, but since her arrival at the school, her nervousness was becoming less of a problem.
"Those things...drugs, sex, gambling; they can be anywhere. It's just something that occurs...as long as humans seek those kind of sins, it'll always be there."
Suddenly the girl bowed her head in embaressment. Thinking before speaking, Amber hated to do such a thing. It was true she had an aversion to humans and their behaviors but she had always hated herself for thinking about it. Not above, or below anyone; she would rather think that way than have those horrible thoughts.
"Ah, nevermind."
She felt the quartz crystal pendulum wrapped around her wrist, glowing with a cool, blue light. She relaxed again, but she had not looked up at Devlin again.

Devlin turned his head in a quizzical way, taking in this deep thought of insight, nodding his head slowly half-understandingly. Of course, the male didn't have the brains to completely figure out this meaning, so he was just as lost as most others would be; he was just better at hiding his stupidity.
"What are you able to do, Devlin?"
Fragston's face twisted into a surprised look; he had unconsciously forgotten that everyone at this school had powers; another downfall of his mind, his bad short term memory. Snapping back to his usual self, Devlin shook his head looked around, just barely noticing another girl near them. He stopped the motion of his cranium for a moment to look before resuming.
"Well, it's not really that impressive, but I can do this..."
The 15-year-old held his right arm out and rolled his wrist soothingly for a moment before snapping it backwards towards the top of his forearm. A thin, steel blade slid out of his palm and extended out, reaching a length of just under a foot before coming to a halt. It seemed to have no physical effect on him, but his mind was straining to just push out the weapon. This was, of course, the first time in a while Fragston had showed someone; the last time he did, he was being enrolled in Manga High School.
"Like I said, not much," Devlin reassured, rolling his right hand around for a moment before allowing the blade to resume its position beneath his skin.

Cute yet stoic Amber was not the kind of girl to be surprised easily, though inside her mind there was a part of her that was always surprised by the wide array of powers that existed in one high school. No two powers and no two people were exactly the same; that's what made it even more intriguing!
He held his right arm out and rolled his wrist before snapping it backwards towards the top of his forearm. A thin, steel blade slid out of his palm and extended to under a foot before it had stopped. Once it had retracted, she made a small smile of interest.
"That's not bad at all."
She stared out across the lake, looking at the young lady who seemed rested and relaxed, enjoying the day. Amber's own thought broke the serenity of the lake.
The porcelain white hands, they'll rise from the lake. Thier palms will bleed as if a nails had been hammered into each of them. The lake will turn red...crimson red and there will be a pillar of light right in the center. We'll be killed, strangled by the multitude of hands...grab us and down us in the lake...
None of those horrific thoughts surfaced on Amber's face, who seemed to just casually staring over the calm lake.
"Does it hurt, when the blade comes out like that?"

Devlin had never really thought of the fact that it might hurt if something slid out of his arm. To him, there was no pain at all. Fragston couldn't even feel the blade moving on top of his muscles at all. He had reached an answer after about 10 seconds, and worried that she might think he was uninterested, he quickly opened his mouth with an answer.
"Never really thought about that... It doesn't hurt at all. I can feel it when it slides in and out, though."
The boy rolled his wrist some more, stretching out the muscles in his forearms, double checking to make sure he couldn't feel anything. After another moment of saying nothing, he decided to speak again, this time with a question of his own.
"Uh, what can you do?"
He turned his head to look at the girl he had struck a conversation with, his eyes rolling over her face to take it in so he could remember it later.

If he had felt his power wasn't any interesting, Amber most likely felt the same way when he asked about hers. The winged girl took a moment, possibly thinking about whether to show or tell.
Before she stood up, she reached next to her by instinct and instead felt the lace parasol. Ah, that's right...she had left her sword on her bed, feeling that she wouldn't need to use it today.
"Hm...all right then," she replied, taking care of her dress while standing up. Amber held out her arm, aiming away from the young lady across the lake and a small object slipped out from the inside of her white sleeve. It was a crystal pendulum, pulsing steady with a calming blue light and the chain fastened to her wrist.
Sanctus.
The blue light pulsed bright once more before a blast of wind combined with the light shaped into a cross and shot across the lake. It reached the other side of the lake before the wind and light would vanish.
"Holy chi energy, so to speak," Amber said, catching the pendulum in the palm of her hand. "It appears as wind to others, but I see it as pure energy. If one were in its path, it would be quite painful."

Devlin stared across the lake where the energy had been aimed at, his right eyebrow propped up as if being held by a stick. On Fragston's face a smile appeared, followed by a chuckle. He stopped shortly after, just in case Amber had misunderstood why he was laughing, and explained himself before anything could be said.
"Yeah, I could imagine... I wouldn't want to be hit by that even if it wouldn't hurt. This wind here bugs me enough."
Dev pulled on the ground below, pulling up a handful of grass blades. He opened his hand after his raised it to shoulder level. The breeze pushed the blades out of his hand, carrying them towards the lake, showing how gentle yet powerful any gust of wind could be. It was this one thing that Fragston had to show others, and he was happy he could at least show something, even if that something was simply a breeze lifting grass into the air. Fragston's arm dropped back to his side, his hand resting on the ground just behind him. Fragston began to push up, rolling his legs forward and planting his feet firmly into the ground before regaining his vertical base. He looked around, trying to decide what to do. In the end, the boy decided to go closer to the lake. Before leaving, though, he turned his head back to the girl he had just met, his long hair blowing peacefully towards the lake
"Well, I'm going closer to the lake. I just wanna see exactly how clear the water is... Might be good for a swim sometime."

As hard as she tried not to show it, a hint of a worried expression crossed her face. Just as she realized that she had slipped up, she smiled at him. It was also apparent that she wasn't going near the water for one reason or another.
"It's very clear, and just as refreshing I'm sure."
Whatever may be in the lake, please don't drown him. He's a good person...
Instead Amber stood up, letting the crystal pendulum hang from her wrist. She wanted to be nearby just to see, making sure that what her dreams told her every night would not become reality. What better way to keep watch than to practice her Vis Vires. In comparison to her usual attacks it was still quite weak.
"I'll be here if you don't mind, I just need to practice a little." The pendulum pulsed with a violet light, a warning and in agreement with Amber's words.
