According to an article in an archival issue I have of Black Stars (Sept. 1974) Calvin Lockart was born on October 18 and would have been turning 40 that year (so today he would be 6 . I'm not sure if he's still alive, but there is a fairly recent pic of him on the web that a fan had taken at a music festival so he very well may be.
He was born in Nassau Bahamas and it has been said that he lived in Europe for some time. Before acting he was in the Construction business. According to the article he had two teenaged boys, a toddler daughter and his current (1974) wife was from the West Indies.
We have a short bio of him on the website which is temporarily down for updating. I will be sure to add pictures from the magazine to the few that we have online.

I just saw this movie on a digital cable channel. He is the only reason I kept watching. Calvin Lockhart, looked him up, who was he in Coming To America? I don't remember seeing him.

I have loved Calvin Lockhart since I was 10 years old. He is simply a gorgeous black man! I wonder how he is today and what is he doing. Does anyone have a update on him? Please let me know.
