Celebdaq Security
I opted to remain permanently logged in to Celebdaq so when I was aked for my ID and password just now I assumed that it was a routine check.

I took a guess at the password and got a message up saying that it was incorrect but did I want to keep it anyway? So I clicked YES and got in - so much for security!

[Good think the BBC don't do on-line banking innit!!!]

Anyway I then found my old password and logged off before re-entering with that one!!!! Strange!

Re: Celebdaq Security
sure it wasn't just a stupid Windows pop-up telling you it was different from the saved password?

I too have security issues - As you know my main PC failed and I had to use a standby one - I got a new password on that machine and low and behold I return tonight and find that my main pc (now fixed) still stays logged in even without requiring the new password!

The repairs may only have involved the hardware, I don't know what was wrong with it exactly. A hardware-related problem has no effect on the cookies already on your hard disk. You went online using your new, repaired computer and the cookie was still valid, so you were still logged in.

Replacing the motherboard does not affect your files.

Re: Celebdaq Security
Agreed Paul, but I would have thought that the cookie based on the old password would not have been accepted by the Celebdaq site. I would have imagined that it would have required the new password cookie to operate.

I expected to have been logged off when using the old cookie (on the repaired machine) as it had been replaced with a new one on the temporary machine.

Still I can access the site.
