Change Of Heart
As Marie lay in bed asleep the phone rang. "Hello?" Marie answered groggy "Hey Marie. This is Kate. What are you doing?" Kate said. "I was just sleeping. What's up?" "I was wondering if you would like to come with me on tour. You can be my assistant. I will be touring with Natural, so what do you say?" Kate asked. "Well, sure! Id love to! You sure Lou doesn't mind? Marie asked. "Lou? I could care less what he thinks. Natural works for him. Not me! Uh!" Kate said with disgust. "Oh yea…my mad. Ok. Well, I will pack and get ready. When do you need me?" Marie asked with excitement. "Can you be in Orlando by the end of the week? I will fly you out here." Kate asked. "Sure, I'll be there! Thanks a lot Kate! I owe you for this!" Marie said ask she hung up. For the next four days Marie went out bought new clothes, got old clothes, and got all her things ready for Fri. Marie was very excited. She liked Natural. She had heard of them, but she hadn't ever met them or anything. She new Kate and J were together, but she didn't know much about the others. Secretly Marie liked Patrick, but she never told anyone. Not even Kate. As she packed, all Marie could think about was how would she react when she met Patrick. She knew he might have many girl friends, but she didn't know if they were serious. She had also heard rumors, but she just ignored them cause she liked him so much. Marie never thought she had a chance in the world with Patrick, but if she did, she wanted to look her best. Her secret dream was to have just one chance, but she never thought that would ever happen. Marie thought and thought about this as she packed. What was a good thing to take, what wasn't, what make up does she needs what not, all those silly things you could think of. As Marie was packing the phone rang. "Hello?" Marie answered. "Hey, this is Kate? How are ya? You getting ready? You know Im picking you up from the airport tomorrow?" Kate asked. "Yea, I know. Im getting ready. I can't wait! Im so excited." Marie beamed. Finally Friday morning arrived. Marie got her baggages to the airport, got on her plane, and sat with nervousness. Marie was so excited, but worried at the thought of meeting Patrick. What would he think of her? How would he act when he met her? Will he even give her a second look? Marie just kept asking herself these questions. Finally after a 2 ½ plane ride, Marie got to Orlando. Kate was there to meet her. "Hey girl! You ok? You look really nervous. What is wrong with you?" Katie asked with a bit of concern "Oh, it is Im just jet lagged. That is all. Im so happy to see you!" Marie said as she gave Kate a hug. " I need to run by the studio real quick to give J something, then I will take you to the house to put your things away." Kate said. OMG, Marie thought as they walked through the airport.
"wait could I um...quickly freshen up?" Marie asked. She assumed Patrick would be at the studio so she wanted to not look jet lagged.
"Go nuts, I'll wait here." Kate said as she sat down on one of the chairs by the restroom.
Marie went nuts trying to decide what to wear, she finally decided on a top that laced in the front, and some jeans thats had a little flower design on the flair. She put on a little make up and combed her hair and came out 10 minutes later.
"Whoa what are you so dressed up for?" Kate asked. Kate was used to studio life, she just was wearing a baby tee that said 'natural' on it, and some loose jeans.
"Oh just didnt want to look bad, thats all." Marie said quickly. Kate didnt believe her but let it go at that. In the car Marie drove and Kate sat and told her all about studio life. Kate and Josh were engaged, and all the CD's were coming out soon and they were touring in 2 weeks and all that good stuff. Kate didnt say much on the other members so when she finally mentioned Marc in Sarah getting married, Marie took the chance to ask,
"So whats up with the other guys? are they all engaged or something too?" she asked trying to hide her purpose
"Umm lets see....Ben just broke up with his girlfriend so hes kinda down, she was a hoe anyways! And Michael and Jamie are still just dating, and Patrick's been single since i came up here." Kate said matter of factly.
Just then they pulled up at the studios.
"Wanna come in?" Kate asked Marie as she got out
"Yeah sure." Marie said excitdley.
The girls went in and went to studio B. There sat Patrick and Michael, Ben wasnt in site, and Josh and Marc were recording their parts.
"Hey guys this is my friend Marie. She gonna be my assitant on the tour." Kate said as she opened her purse and took out a few pieces of folded paper.
"Hey I'm Michael." Said Michael with a wave
"And I'm Patrick, you look kinda familar." He said. Patrick had been staying single because there was a fan in particular he had been holding out for. It was Marie, but he didnt put two and two together.
"Hi. I went to a few of your shows maybe you remember me?" Marie said shyly. She had barely talked to them when she seen them at the shows, but Patrick had liked her anyways.
Just then Kate came back from giving Josh the papers and said,
"K lets go. See ya guys later." She said as she practically dragged Marie out of the studio.

As Kate and Mary drove home, Marie couldn’t speak. If she spoke, she would scream. For some reason she wanted to scream. It was from the shock of seeing Patrick. “Well, what did you think? Was Patrick and Michael nice to you?” Kate asked. All Marie could say was…uh hu. Marie was to worried to say to much. Marie couldn’t believe she saw Patrick. She remembered seeing him before, but she never said anything to him. She was always too scared, or shy to. Marie was afraid Patrick would think of her as a lil odd or strange, since she was a fan, and she liked him so much. “Here we are.” Kate said. Marie was in deep thought. “Hey! Hello?? You ok? You are being offly quiet. Are you ok?” Kate asked Marie. “Yep let’s go.” Marie said as she got out of the car. As Marie and Kate went to carry her luggage in to her room Kate noticed she had a couple messages on her phone. After Kate put the baggage down she checked her messages. “Hey Kate, this is J. Patrick, Michael, Ben, and I are gonna come by for a lil bit to work on some music and we can all go to diner afterwards. We can meet Marie and hang out with her, and you. I love you, and see you about 6pm.” “Screams” Marie heard the message. She couldn’t help it. “Marie!! Are you ok? Kate said running. “Ummm…yea. I forgot…ummm, I forgot….(with a laugh) Oh well, forgot again.” Marie said worriedly. “Ok, J and the guys are coming over. Just to let you know.” Kate said with a funny look. “Ok, yea. Ok.” Marie replied. As Kate walked out, she heard Marie say to herself…OMG. Patrick is coming over. OMG, OMG, OMG! What am I gonna wear? Kate laughed to herself, as she said..Oh! That is what this is all about. Hahaha… Marie went through at least several outfits, and she was a wreck. Kate didn’t say anything. She didn’t want Marie to know she knew. Finally after an hour of trying on clothes, Marie came out of her room. “OK, here I am. What is going on?” Marie asked trying to look calm. “Nothing, the guys are coming over, and you are the one freaking out. You tell me!” Kate said with a laugh. “Hush! I don’t like anyone, so hush.” Marie said worriedly. “ I never said anything about liking anyone! Are you not telling me something?” Kate asked with a sleigh grin. “Nope. Don’t think so.” Marie said as she went back to her room to look at her self again in the mirror. Marie staid in her room till the guys got there. She needed to prepare herself for seeing Patrick and she just needed to relax, She was a nervous wreck. Marie even tried to come up with some topics to talk to Patrick about, but she was having hard time thinking. Finally after another 45 min or so, the guys all arrived. Marie didn’t come out of her room. She was too nervous. Finally Kate walked in. “Hey, the guys are here. They want to meet you. Come on!” Kate said. “Ok, give me a sec. be right there.” Marie said as Kate closed the door. Marie looked at her self in the mirror. “OK you. Patrick is out there. Be calm and don’t act stupid! Ok?” Marie told her self in the mirror. As Marie took a deep breath she walked out of her room down stairs. Patrick, J, Ben, Michael, and Marc were all waiting to meet her. Kate saw Marie coming down the steps. Just as Marie got to the last step she was shaking and almost tripped. OMG she thought. “Hi, Im Marie.” “Hi, Im J, this is Patrick, Ben, Marc, and Michael.” J replied. “Hello.” Marie said. “You ok?” Patrick asked. “Ya, why?” Marie said. “Well, you just tripped.” Patrick said.” Oh…ya. Im fine.” Marie said kinda embarrassed. Kate gave Patrick a punch on the arm. “Well we’re going to the studio for a lil bit, be back soon, and we will head to diner.” J told Kate and Marie. Marie sat on the couch with tears in her eyes. “You ok? Kate asked. “Yea.” Marie said as she ran up stairs.

Kate went upstairs and knocked on the door
"Marie whats wrong?" Kate really didnt see anything that she could possibly cry about!
"Patrick seen me trip...." Marie said through her sobs
"So? Josh seen me trip a million times..." Kate said matter of factly.
"Yeah well...I dont know! I'm just a wreck tonight....sorry." Marie said as she went to reapply her makeup.
"Its okay. Just chill!" Kate said. A half hour later Josh called and asked them to come to dinner now. When they got there Marie promised herself she wouldnt freak out. Michael had ran out for Burger King, and was going to bring it back to the hotel rooms, where Natural was mostly staying (Kate was staying at her managers summer house.) The two girls went in and Katie ran over to Josh and they kissed and hugged. They were kind of a mushy couple but they seemed very happy. Ben was laying on the bed crying into a pillow because Burger King reminded him of him and his ex's first date. Michael obviously wasnt there, and Marc and Sarah were sitting with each other on another bed. Kate and Josh were sitting on the couch. Patrick was sitting playing play station 2 by the couch (he was sitting in front of it, not on it.) Marie just walked in and sat by Patrick because well Katie was there, Patrick was there, and there was no where else to sit! Patrick seemed pretty interested in his game to Marie. Actually he wanted to impress her a little so he was trying to beat Ben's (the playstation 2 master ) high score. Marie really could care less but Patrick didnt know that. Marie just sat in silence watching him, when Patrick finally lost his final life in the game. Marie just joked, "How could you miss that target it was so easy?" She wasnt trying to insult him, but he took that way.
"Well if its so damn easy why dont you play?" Patrick said a little angrily as he put the controller down and went in the other room (their hotel room was two rooms combined basically.) Patrick was thinking 'great she hates me...' and Marie was thinking 'great he hates me...' Marie looked a little upset and Josh noticed and said, "Oh just ignore him he's PMSing or something..." Patrick heard that and shouted back, "No I'm not!" He was even more upset now. Just then Michael came back in with the food. Patrick ate alone in his half of the room, and Marie just ate in silence as everyone else ate. Kate and Marie left early that night and Patrick and Marie just sulked and didnt mention to anyone how upset they were. The next day Marie came with Kate to the studio. Patrick was there, he was helping Kate with the song. He was the only one. Marie hadnt known he was going to be there so she was just dressed down. She still liked him even though they'd had that little tiff the night before. Marie didnt say anything to Patrick, and Patrick didnt say anything to Marie, until Kate excused herself to take a call from Josh. Patrick said aloud to himself, "Great she'll be gone an hour!"
Marie thought he was talking to her so she said with a shy little laugh, "Yeah Kate and Josh will go on forever if you let them." Patrick just said, "Who are you talking to?" He was still kinda depressed because he thought he had know chance. Marie was a little upset now and said, "Well who were you talking to?" Patrick just said very bluntly "Myself." Marie just said with a forced laugh, "Well you two have fun then." Patrick just sighed and rolled his eyes and said, "You think your funny dont you?" Marie said very sarcastically, "Yeah I crack myself up." Patrick just kept working and said, "Obviously." They were both close to tears so they didnt say anything. Patrick just finished his work on Kate's track and Marie sat silently pretending to write some paperwork down. Kate came back about 10 minutes later and said,
"Let's eat shall we?"
Patrick just got up and said, "Yeah." and Marie followed. Patrick drove this time and they went to the mall. Marie sat in the back seat because she was scared to sit by Patrick for fear he'd hate her more.
When they got to the mall they went for chinese Patrick offered to buy for everyone. Marie thought that was sweet of him but she didnt know what to think. Small talk was kind of hard to make because her and Patrick didnt get along to well. Kate talked about the wedding plans with Josh and then somehow the conversation got to touring. Patrick didnt talk to much. Then Kate suggested they went shopping. Patrick and Marie both had had a hard time during the meal. Though they thought the other one hated them, they still had a crush on each other. Patrick had a hard time not starring at Marie. When Kate left them alone to get a refill, Patrick had gotten in so deep of thought about Marie that she said, "Patrick is something wrong?" He'd been starring at her for 10 minutes!
"None of your buisness..." he just said as he quickly looked down at his food. Marie stared at him too and when Kate was gone again Patrick said, "What are you looking at?" He said it very coldly and Marie came back harshly by saying, "What do you think? How much you look like a girl!" Patrick just rolled his eyes and got up to get a refill. Anyways when they got up to go shopping Patrick again was having trouble not looking at Marie. He kept thinking how stupid he was that he just wasnt nice to her! As the walked through the mall nothing was said until Marie said, "Oh lets go in to American Eagle! I love that store!" That kind of through Patrick off because just then he'd been thinking how good she'd look in a pair of American Eagle undies. He didnt know she liked American Eagle! Kate said, "Oh thats you fav store too isnt it Patrick?" Patrick just said plainly, "Yeah." They went in and right as Patrick was thinking how cute a certain pair of pants would look on her she ran over and picked them up and said, "Oh Kate look at these pants there so cute! I'm gonna try them on." Marie said as she also picked up the shirt Patrick thought would look perfect on her. When Marie came out of the dressing room she asked Kate how she looked.
"It looks so cute! You should definitly get it." Kate said and before Marie could go back in the dressing room Kate said, "Patrick dont you agree? Doesnt she look good in that outfit? We need a mans opinion!" Come on Patrick say something nice, is what he thought.
"Oh I'm sorry according to Marie I'm not a man, and those pants make your butt look big!" he said as he walked away and into the mens section. Marie almost burst out into tears right then.
"Patrick your an ass!" Kate said as she then turned to Marie and said, "No it doesnt, you look fine, Patrick is just in a bad mood today!"
Marie decided she didnt want to care what Patrick thought, but she did....but then again she wanted to buy the pants to just prove she didnt care what he thought.
"Alright I'll buy them...but I hate him!" Marie said very angrily. Patrick heard that and he almost broke down himself. HE felt stupid and mean and wished he hadnt said that because in his opinion she had looked very sexy in the outfit! Marie came out and Kate said, "Hey I want to buy Josh some good pants, he has none! What do you think I should get him?" Marie walked over and Patrick watched her (he couldnt keep his eyes off her) and she picked up a certain pair of khackis and said, "Josh would like these, besides they're really cute." Kate went over and looked at them and said, "Okay I'll get them. Thanks." Patrick took note of that. After the girls checked out Kate said "Come on Patrick we're leaving."
"Umm I'll catch up with you two in a second, where will you be?"
"Hot Topics?" Kate said as she looked at Marie for confirmation. Marie shook her head yes. Kate said, "Yeah Hot Topics."
"Okay see ya there." He said as he waited for them to leave, then rushed to buy the pants. Marie had also mentioned a few shirts that would look good on Josh, so he bought them too (thankfully Kate hadnt.) Patrick never wore khackis but he would for Marie. He also seen the shirt Marie had wanted but she didnt want to pay to much. he bought it and figured he could give it to her as an 'i'm sorry' present.
As Kate and Marie walked into hot topics Marie couldnt help but say very sadly, "Maybe I should return those pants..."
"No I know Patrick didnt think your butt looked big! He was almost drooling over you!" Kate said with a laugh
"No he wasnt....he said I looked bad..." Marie said sadly
"Marie listen dont take it personally, I think Patrick has the 'helga' syndrome." Kate said
"'helga' syndrome?" Marie asked like Kate was insane
"You know that cartoon 'Hey arnold?' On the show there was this girl named Helga who liked him, but she was to scared he'd reject her, so she was mean to him and such all the time. But she was so in love with him! I love cartoons." Kate said as she browsed through some shirts
Before Marie had time to think on that Patrick walked in carrying a few bags.
"What'd you buy?" Kate asked
"oh just something for the tour..." Patrick said slyly.
They finished shopping and Marie and Patrick both noticed that they had the same likes and dislikes. They were a perfect pair but they didnt say anything on it. Thankfully the rest of the day went on with out any insults.
Patrick dropped Kate and Marie off at their house and then he drove to his hotel. When he got in there Michael asked,
"I thought you were recording....when did you stop at American Eagle?"
"When Kate and Marie took me to lunch and then we shopped. Listen Michael I need you to do me a favor. See this box? Could you give it to Marie for me and just say it was an 'i'm sorry' present?" Patrick said kind of worried. He didnt know how Michael would take this
"Okay....why?"
"Because I said some really mean stuff to her and I felt bad...Anyways I got to go I'm gonna drive around see if the girl I like is out." Patrick said trying to throw Michael off. He didnt want anyone to know he liked Marie
"Whos this girl?" Michael asked suspiciously
"Oh shes a girl I met at a club the other night. She's so sweet! Shes beautiful, I think I'm in love." Patrick said as he described Marie only changed some of the details.
"Ah okay, well if you want any girl help I'm here."
Michael was coming over that night with Josh to meet Kate and write some more music. He and Josh got in the car and left.

Finally, after a while Michael, Ben, and J went over to Kate’s house. “Hey Kate. Where is Marie?” Michael asked. “She is upstairs. Why?” Kate asked. “Well, Patrick gave me this box here to give her, and I was just gonna give it to her.” Michael replied. “Ok, hold on. Marie!” Kate yelled. “Yea?” Marie answered back. “Michael needs to speak with you. Come down here.” Kate answered. After a couple minutes Marie came down stairs. You could tell she had been crying. “Here. Patrick wanted me to give this to you. He said it was to apologize for his actions today, and earlier.” Michael said handing Marie the box. “Where is Pat?” Kate asked. “He went to look for some pretty girl he met earlier. He said he wanted to find her, cause he just couldn’t stop thinking of her. Or something like that.” Michael said kinda puzzled. “Well, thanks Michael for bringing me the box. I’ll look at it later.” Marie said as she tossed the present on the couch. “Man, I hope that wasn’t breakable!” J said with a laugh. “Oh well.” Marie mumbled back. As J, Ben, and Michael went to the basement to practice Marie helped Kate clean, and fix diner.
“So, what is it with you and Patrick?” Kate asked as she handed Marie the plates. “What? Nothing. He hates me, I hate him, and that is the bottom line.” Marie said in a sad tone. “Well if you ask me. I think you two like each other, but wont admit to it. That is my theory.” Kate said with a shrug. “Well I don’t think he does. Besides, he said I looked fat in those pants, he snapped when I tried to talk to him, he completely ignores me, and you think he likes me? Are you ok? The guy despises me!” Marie said. “Well, I am not sure what the deal is, but I KNOW you like him, and from what I can tell. He likes you also!” Kate said as she set the silverware out. With a sigh, Marie just said quietly…”I wish he did. But that is never gonna happen.” “What did you say?” Kate asked. “Nothing, nothing at all.” Marie said in a quiet tone.
“Hey guys!” Ben said as he walked in from the basement. “Hey. What’s up? Marie said with a smile. “Not much. Just writing some music, putting some rhythm with it, and trying to think of some good music for our next CD.” Ben said with a smile. “Well, I think you guys will have great luck! I mean, your last CD went platinum, and the world loves you guys. So don’t fret ok?” Marie said as she gave Ben a hug. “Yea, you’re right, I just worry about those kinda things ya know? Besides, this next CD will kinda tell whether we still got it or not.” Ben said. “Hey, are you seeing anyone Ben?” Marie asked. “Nope, I just broke up with her about a week ago. But, Im moving on. Why?” Ben asked with a grin. “Just asking, Nothing personal. Hope I didn’t offend you.” Marie replied. ”Nope, not at all. Do you have a boyfriend, or dating anyone?” Ben asked. “Nope Im single, and ya.” Marie said as she went to the sink for some water. “Well, if you like to hang out sometime, or go on a date, that would be cool!” Ben said. Hearing the conversation, Kate about choked on her Pepsi. “You ok?” Marie and Ben said to Kate. “Oh yea, just went down the wrong way, that is all.” Kate replied. As Ben got up to go back to the basement, he looked at Marie and said, “You busy Friday?” “Nope, Im free. Why?” Marie asked, hoping Ben would ask her on a date. “Would you like to go to diner, and maybe we can catch a late movie?” Ben said. “Yea! I would love to! Sounds great. OK Ben, a date it is.” Marie said with a big smile. As Ben walked out of the kitchen he gave Marie a kiss on the cheek. “Great, sounds good. See ya in a lil bit.” Ben said as he walked out. “Are you like NUTS? Or just completely off your rocker?” Kate said as she looked at Marie. “I like Ben. He is sweet, cute, and an awesome guy to hang out with. It’s nothing serious. Just a friend dating a friend. It’s just a platonic thing!” Marie said with a grin. “Girl! You like Patrick, Patrick likes you! You blind, or just stupid?” Kate asked as she gave Marie as smack on the head. “Im neither! I want to go on a date with Ben, and Im going to. OK?” Marie said as she went to get something from upstairs. When she got back, all the guys were at the table, and Ben saved her a seat next to him. After a couple minutes Patrick came in. “Hey! We are in the kitchen. J said. Marie just ate, and never looked up. “Hey, guys. What’s up? This is Kristen.” Patrick said. “Hey, we were just about to eat. Care to join?” Ben said. Looking up, Marie saw young blond, which looked like she couldn’t have been more then 15 or 17. “Kristen is going to graduate in a couple months.” Without even thinking, Marie said….”From what, Kindergarten?” Marie and the others just chuckled. Before Patrick could speak, Kristen said…No from 10th grade.” Everyone had to put their heads down. J and Ben excused themselves from the table. “We will just be going. We will go in the basement to work on the music. See you guys later.” Patrick said looking at Marie. “Im sure there is more to work on.” Marie said under her breath. Nothing was said at diner about the date or Patrick after that. Everyone just talked of the tour, and more small talk.

Patrick walked fast near dragging his date downstairs. She said, "Ouch Patrick your hurting me." Patrick was upset with Maries comments and he seen the way Ben was eyeing her, he didnt like it.
"Oops sorry Christian." Patrick said as she let go and ran down to one of the chairs to sit and close his eyes
"Its Kristen!" She said very annoyed he hadnt known her name. He had met her outside the mall (where he'd really gone back to instead of a club) and he asked her out for the night and she said sure, but she had no clue they would just drive straight to a house and then go in a basement. She went to sit on his lap and he said, "Ummm theres a chair over there." as he moved her hands away from his private parts.
"Well why did you take me down here if your not going to do anything with me?" she said a little offended as he moved her aside and got up and sat in another chair.
"Because I'm just not comfortable around Kate and Marie. I just want to stay down here and make them think we're doing things." Patrick said as he looked up the stairs to see if anyone was following. Him and Kristen spent the whole time just in silence down there. Everytime she said something to him, he just blew it off with a 'yeah' 'no' or 'what?'
*meanwhile upstairs*
Everyone finished dinner and was about to leave. Josh went to start the car up after kissing Kate goodbye. Kate went to go put dishes away. Patrick still hadn't came up. Ben said shyly to Marie, "I had fun tonight, so I'll see ya on Friday right?"
"Yeah it was fun....umm...yeah I'll see you then." Marie said shyly, Ben was a nice guy, but now she was realizing he'd taken her 'platonic' date idea and took it as more, and she didnt want that.
"Could I give you a kiss goodbye?" Ben asked right as Patrick was coming up the stairs. Marie noticed and decided him and his underage whore probably had fun so she wanted him to see this.
"Sure. I'd like that very much." Marie said right as Patrick got in sight and seen Ben lean over and give Marie a kiss on the mouth. Patrick almost tripped on the stairs especially when he seen Ben's tounge! He just grabbed Kristen and pulled her around and gave her a kiss too. Marie noticed but pretended not to care. After her and Ben's kiss Ben said,
"Whoa ummm....see ya on Friday!" he said quick because he was a little embarassed he had been so forward, and he bolted out the door. Him and Josh drove off since Patrick had his own car. Patrick just stopped kissing Kristen mid kiss when Marie left the room, and he just walked up the stairs almost forgetting his date. As he walked out he noticed the unopen box that he had given Marie. It kind of hurt him even more and he gave the girl a $20 and told her to call a cab and left before she could say anything. Kristen walked back in the house and said "Umm hi...could I use your phone?" as she walked into the kitchen where Marie and Kate were.
"Why wheres Patrick?" Kate asked suspiciously
"He left, you knows hes ignored me all day! He met me at the mall at like 5 and then he said lets go on a date and I'm thinkin oh yeah this will be fun, and he takes me here after talking the whole way about some girl named Marie he likes and hows hes an ass around her, and anyways then he took me in the basment and just sat across the room and didnt even talk to me! Can you believe that?" Kristen said in a cheerleader tone as she picked up the phone and dialed a taxi service. Kate gave Marie the 'see?' look and dried her hands and walked over to the couch where the gift was laying and said, "Open it now." With a sly smile. Marie looked at Kate like 'i dont want to' but dried her hands and opened the box right as Kristen left. Inside was the blue tie sweater she had said was very pretty when Patrick shopped with them. Inside was a note that said, 'Marie I'm sorry I was so mean, this is just a way to say I'm sorry.-Patrick.'
"Whoa that sweater was $80!" Kate said amazed Patrick had done such a thing.
"Yeah well he cant buy sorries, he shouldnt be so mean to begin with!" Marie said as she put the sweater back in the box and said, "I need to go to bed, I'll see ya in the morning." The next morning Marie woke up to the phone ringing. It was Thursday morning.
"Hey Marie its Ben I just wanted to call ya." Ben said very shy yet eager on the other line. Marie thought 'oh great, I have to fix this, ben is a sweet guy, but not for me.'
"Oh hi Ben, listen could we meet up for lunch today? We need to talk." Marie said
"*gasp excitdley* really? Sure okay umm I'll take you for chinese, Patrick told me you really like it." Ben said very excitdley.
"Umm sure I'll meet ya at the mall in a half hour k?"
"Okay bye."
"Bye."
Marie put on the sweater (it was May and a little chilly oddly enough) and her pants from the day before. When she got there it was obvious Ben was trying to impress her. They sat down at a table and after ordering before Ben could say anything Marie said, "Ben what kind of relationship do you think we have?"
Ben thought a minute and said hesitantly, "Well I was hopeing a romantic one, because your so beautiful and not only that your very sweet and kind." Marie felt so terrible right then but she had to do what was right, this couldnt be a "gone with the wind" scenario.
"Ben I am so sorry, I never intended for us to be more then just friends who hung out, you just ummm suprised me last night when you asked for a kiss, so i just said yes, i wasnt really thinking...I have really strong feelings for someone else and I am so sorry, your a sweet guy but I think of you more as a big brother then a boyfriend." Marie said hesitantly and gently.
Ben looked devistated right away and said, "Oh god I'm a bad kisser!"
"No! Your a good kisser!" Marie said quickly, it was true
"I moved to fast!"
"No you were very sweet and respecting of my wishes."
"I'm ugly!"
"No your nice looking"
"I'm fat! I'll always be alone!" Ben said in tears as he got up and left before Marie could say anything else. He was an attractive sweet guy, but she didnt feel for him the way she felt for Patrick.
When Ben got back to the studios he was in tears.
"Whats wrong? What happend with your new girlfriend?" Patrick said coldly
"She....*sob* I took it wrong *sob* she just wants to be *gasp* friends!!!!!!!!" Ben said as he started crying again.
"Why?" Patrick said very amazed
"She said she liked *gasp* *sob* some other guy and it wouldnt be *gasp* *sob* *cry* fair to me!!!!!!" Ben cried as Marc comforted him and Sarah brought him a coke.
"What guy?" Patrick said as he stopped tuning his guitar
"WHY DO YOU CARE! YOU'VE BEEN A BITCH TO HER SINCE YOU MET HER!!!!!!!! I HATE YOU I HATE EVERYONE!" Ben said as he got up and left back to the hotel. Patrick was hopeing she had meant him, but he didnt think she did. That night Patrick was working with Kate alone again and said,
"Hey umm where's Marie?" with a forced laugh
"What do you care? I thought you hated her." Kate said bluntly
"I dont hate anyone....so where is she?" Kate looked at patrick very funny and said,
"Shes at home, something about she was going to work with Michael and Josh on some notes about the tour or something."
"Oh...so she hates me doesnt she?" Patrick said trying to pretend he didnt care
"No she likes you, she thinks you hate her." Kate said matter of factly
"I dont hate anyone." Patrick restated. Him and Kate worked awhile and then he said when she was least expecting it,
"Kate I need some girl advice..."
"On who? Kristen?" Kate said jokingly
"No....just a girl I seen the other day. She was really beautiful and seemed sweet. But she hates me I mean ummm boy bands. Anyways I like her A LOT! But how do I tell her? I'm really shy." Patrick said hopeing she wouldnt catch on
"Well I always thought it would be really romantic if a guy just came up and kissed me and told me he liked me. Josh never did that....but that would be so sweet! Marie told me she thinks so too. And then you gotta take the girl out somewhere real nice, unless you have a lot of guts and you and her go farther then kissing." Kate said with a laugh
Patrick mentally made sure he remembered it all.
*back at Kate's house where Marie, Josh, and Michael are meeting*
Marie, Josh, and Michael were going over some of the details of the tour. They talked and the Marie said when they were least expecting, "Hey guys I need some guy advice."
"On who?" Michael asked interested
"Definitly not poor ben!" Josh laughed
"Oh I feel terrible about Ben, he's so sweet but I dont love him and it would be crueler to say I did. Anyways I like a certain guy I met a little after I came here. I dont think he likes me much though...what should i do?" Marie asked
"Well tell him!" Josh said bluntly
"Well how? I'm shy." Marie said
"Well I always thought it would be nice if a girl just sat me down and told me and gave me a kiss and a hug. Patrick and Marc always thought so too." Michael said
Marie took deep note of that.
The next day Marie was coming with Kate to record. Patrick would be there again. They both knew the other would be there. Marie wore her blue sweater and pants, and Patrick made sure to put on his khackies and the shirt Marie had said was the cutest. Then the 3 people left for the studio ready to see each other.

At the studio Patrick was tuning his guitar. He was actually just killing time till Marie arrived. If he could, he was gonna try to tell her he liked her. Suddenly J, Kate, and Marie arrived. “Hey, what’s up?” Kate asked. “Not much, just practicing and tuning our instruments.” Marc replied. “Hey Marie, you look really cute!” Marc said looking at her. Patrick looked up. Marie was wearing the shirt he gave her, and the pants she bought. “Nice.” Patrick replied as he shot Marc a look. “Thanks.” Marie replied back. “So, how is the tuning coming?” Marie asked Patrick as she walked up to him. “OK, Please step off the cord. (with a laugh) Hate for you to get shocked.” Patrick replied. “Right, I think Ive had enough shock since I got here.” Marie replied. “So, how did your date go with Kristen last night? Marc asked Patrick. “Oh, it is was awesome! She is so sweet. I just can’t stop thinking of her, and she is the best thing since, well, since…Marie.” Patrick said. “Since me? What? That poor girl left by taxi last night! You kinda forgot her!” Marie said with a laugh. “I didn’t forget her smarty pants! I had to leave, and I just told her to take a taxi. I paid! I talked to her when I got home. She was cool with it and understood everything. Is that ok with you?” Patrick snapped. “Good God! Why do you always snap at me? Do you think Im deaf or, do you like yelling at me?” Marie spatted back. “You are so annoying! God, why are you so hard to talk to, and communicate with. You act so damn sensitive about every little thing!” Patrick said. ‘Sensitive? Who you calling sensitive you idiot! If you like someone, you sure the hell don’t yell at them! And you like me? God, I hate to see what you do if you hated me!” Marie said. “Like you? Who the heck told you that? I don’t even know you! I have a girl friend…Kristy. Remember? (With a laugh) “Yea, I remember, and I also remember her name is Kristen. You may want to remember that for future reference!” Marie sighed. While all this was taking place, everyone in the studio just watched. They thought it would be best to let Patrick and Marie work things out. Even though they wanted to sat something.
Ben just couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Patrick might have liked Marie, but he had a bad way of showing it. “Hey, ummm..Why do you yell at her?” Ben asked Patrick. “Cause she seems to be hard at hearing, and she never listens! She only hears what she wants. And why in the heck do you care?” Patrick asked realizing Ben was cutting in. “Cause if you like a person, which I think you like Marie, you don’t yell at them. You are to have a normal calm conversation, and don’t get so annoyed.” Ben said. “Thank you Ben! Least one guy knows how to talk to a lady!” Marie said sitting on the floor. “Oh please! Give me a break! You don’t even have a girlfriend, and you’re telling me how to talk to a girl?” Patrick snapped. “Well apparently Patrick, It kinda seems you don’t have a girl either! So, leave Ben alone!” Marie replied. “Oh God! Im outa here. Im leaving. Later.” Patrick said as he walked out of the door.
‘Well, that is great. We can’t practice! Patrick left…again!” Michael said. “Good, I can’t stand to be around a stubborn ass like him!” Marie replied. “Marie, Im not sure what to tell you, but for God sakes, please try to talk to Patrick?” Kate said. “You don’t think I just did? What did I just try to do? Patrick hates me, and he won’t admit it. Or admit that he doesn’t! Whichever!” Marie sighed. Well, if I were you, Id go after him! Try to talk to him, and just try Marie.” J replied. “Did you all just see what happened? Or were you to dumb to notice? Patrick hates me, so face it!” Marie snapped. “Marie, he doesn’t hate you. He really likes you, but he doesn’t know how to react around you, or tell you.” Michael replied. “How did you find this out?” Ben asked Michael puzzlingly. ‘He told me the other day. I wasn’t supposed to tell, but he does, and I honestly feel Marie likes him, for some odd reason.” Michael replied. All Ben could do was look at Marie. He really didn’t say much, till 15 minutes later. “Is he the guy you said you had strong feelings for, and you didn’t want to hurt me?” Ben said. “Yea.” Marie said sadly. "I think Im gonna go home. I will see you guys later. J, can u bring Kate home when you guys are done?” Marie asked, “Sure.” J replied.
Instead of going home, Marie went to Patrick’s hotel room. Kate had told her where the guys were staying before this big mess. Marie knocked on the door. “Yea?” Patrick said opening the door. “Oh, it’s you. What do you want?” Patrick asked. “May I come in?” Marie quietly asked. “Sure.” Patrick said looking at her. "What can I do for you? You want another fight, or what?” Patrick said kinda harshly. “No! I want to talk to you. I want to know what is going on? Why do you hate me so much? Turn around, buy me a gift? Pretend you have a YOUNG girl friend? And then yell at me at the studio? What is the deal Patrick? Do you really hate me, or are you just against me completely?” Marie said with tears in her eyes. “I don’t HATE you! I am not sure why you think that, but I don’t! You go out with Ben, knowing I like you, and then when I try to talk to you, you have a sassy comeback everytime! It is silly. You don’t have to have those dumb come- backs everytime! I HATE them!” Patrick said. “Ok, I am sorry. I shouldn’t do that, and I will be more considerate for now on. I was trying to be funny, and lighten the moment, but obviously, they don’t work. Wait! It isn’t all me! You said I looked fat in those pants at American Eagle. You snapped at me during lunch. You acted like you hated me since I arrived! You made sure to say something when I tripped on the last step the other day, and you say Im inconsiderate? No! It isn’t just me!” Marie sobbed. With a sigh, Patrick sat next to Marie on the bed. “Look Marie, you want the truth, and honesty. Here it is. Ive liked you since I saw you. You are all Ive thought about, and I did those dumb things like, Kristen, and all to see how you would react. Yea, that was dumb, but I was scared cause I didn’t know how to act around you, and Ive never had these feelings for anyone like I do you. Marie, I like you A LOT, and I want us to get to know one another, and try to work things out, but Im not sure how.” Patrick said. As Patrick was talking, she was thinking of the things J, and Michael told her how to tell Patrick she liked him. “OK, Patrick, I really like you. Ive liked you since the moment I saw you, but I was honestly to scared, and I didn’t know what to say, or how to act around you. Patrick I have feelings for you as well, but Im not sure what to do.” Marie said with her head looking down. “Marie, can we try to start over, and get to know one another, and keep it simple for a while?” Patrick asked as he turned Marie’s face towards him. “Ok, I like that idea.” Marie said as tears were pouring down her cheeks. Just then Patrick kissed her on the mouth, then held her closely. “Im sorry, I shouldn’t have acted the way I did, and Im sorry.” Patrick said as he held Marie tightly. Looking up at him, Marie said…”I am to. And I really like the shirt you got me. I love it, thank you!” Marie said as she gave him a hug. "Well since we are being honest, can I tell you something?” Patrick asked with a grin. “Sure, what?” “ You remember when you asked me if I liked these pants on you, and I said what I did. Well, you looked really good! I couldn’t stop looking at you! So, I lied. Im sorry.” Patrick said giving Marie a kiss on the cheek. With a smile, Marie said….” I knew you liked me in them. (with a laugh) I knew you did.” After about an hour and a half of talking, and just hanging out, Marie decided she needed to get home, before Kate did. As she was going to leave, Patrick walked her to the car. He held her hand, and as she got in the car to leave, he asked….”May I give you a kiss goodbye?” With a laugh Marie looked at Patrick and just said…”What are you waiting for?” Patrick leaned over and gave her a kiss on the mouth. ‘I will talk to you later. See you soon.” Marie said as she closed the car door. “Wait!” Marie said opening the door. “Let’s keep this meeting to us. I don’t want Kate and the others to think anything. Patrick watched Marie drive away then he went back into his room and just laid and thought awhile. He was really excited, it was hard for him to believe she liked him! Marie had the same thoughts racing through her head as she speeded home. When she got there she came in and Kate and Josh were sitting on the couch cuddling.
"Where have you been?" Kate asked curiously
"Um...I just stopped for a bite to eat because I was upset, I'm better now." Marie lied as she quickly rushed up the stairs
"Well if you see Patrick tomorrow and he's smiling, we'll know that was a lie!" Kate told Josh with a laugh
The next morning Marie woke up at 6 ready to go to the studios hopeing Patrick would be there. She went downstairs and Kate wasn't there. After eating breakfast very fast and getting all ready to see Patrick Kate still wasn't up (It was 7 now) so Marie went into Kate's room and Kate and Josh were sleeping. Marie really didnt want to go in, but she didnt want Kate to get in trouble so she walked over and shook Kate awake.
"Wha...what?" Kate said groggily and a little annoyed
"Kate were going to be late!" Marie said urgently, she wanted to see Patrick very badly.
"Marie remember I told you yesterday in the car on our way to the studio, today is everyones day off!" Kate said as she turned over and fell asleep again. Marie really didnt recal the conversation but she had only been thinking of what to say to Patrick....
Marie knew if she went over to the hotel that everyone would know why she was there. Ben and Patrick shared a room and she didnt want to hurt Ben anymore because she really wanted to be his friend. So she just put her pajamas back on and went to sleep. She woke up an hour later to the phone ringing.
"Hello?" Marie said tiredly
"Hey Marie it's Patrick....sorry did I wake you up?" Patrick said excited, but concerned
"Oh no umm...I've been up." Marie lied quickly
"Oh okay....I was wondering if you would like to do something tonight since we all have the day off." Patrick said nervously
"Sure what time and where?" Marie asked a little more awake now.
"Ummm 6 at the mall?" Patrick asked
"Okay sounds good. See ya then." Marie said happily
"Okay great, I'll miss you tell then." Patrick said nervously. Marie was a little taken back by that and then said, "I'll miss ya too, bye."
"Bye."
Now Marie was excited, but then not 2 minutes later Ben called.
"Hey Marie I was wondering even though you kind of blew me off and I overreacted....I was wondering if we could go out as just friends tonight..."Ben said a little upset. 'Great' Marie thought.
"Ummm Ben I kind of had other plans, how about tomorrow?" Marie asked reluctantly
"Oh I see...I'll just be *sigh* alone tonight like I desevere....all the other guys are goin out with their girlfriends and I just didnt want to be lonely....thanks anyways." Ben said about to cry as he hung up. Marie felt really bad now and didnt know what to do. She went downstairs and watched TV tell noon when Kate and Josh woke up and came down for some breakfast.
"Hey Kate I have a problem....Ben asked me to go out with him tonight but I was already going to go out with a friend and anyways I told Ben that and he was really upset....what should I do?" Marie asked fastly.
"Well dont worry about Ben, my sister is coming in to town today and she'll fix him. Who's the friend?" Kate asked as she poured some cereal.
"Oh okay...no one just an old friend." Marie said quickly as she ran upstairs.
Kate's sister Brittni did come that night, and her and Ben met up and hit it off right away. At 5 Marie was getting ready to go meet Patrick. When Kate seen her all dressed up she said, "Jeesh thats kind of a lot of makeup to wear to see just an 'old friend'!" Marie just smiled and said,
"Whats wrong with wanting to look nice?"
"I guess nothing, good thing your not going out with Ben or Patrick!" Kate said with a laugh as she hung up some clothes in the closet.
"Why?" Marie asked concerend.
"I didnt think you cared...oh of course you wouldnt know! After you left yesterday Ben was really down, so Lou came in and seen the chaos made and he said you and Patrick have to stop fighting or your fired, and he also said no employees of his shall date any of his other employees! He said different singers are okay, but no like assitants dating any of the band members. He said it would save Ben and him trouble!" Kate said with a laugh. Oh great....Marie thought sadly.
"Whats wrong?" Kate said after a few moments of silence
"Oh umm nothing, just worried bout my job cuz me and patrick are ....we always fight!" Marie said trying to cover up what she was thinking of.
"Well I'll just leave you home when me and Patrick are working..." Kate started but Marie interuptted her.
"No! I mean, its okay I dont want to fight I'll just ignore him." Marie said quickly.
"Oh...ka...y" Kate said as she just walked away. Marie figured she'd just tell Patrick about it when she seen him and ask what he wanted to do. His job wasnt in danger, just hers, and she needed the money and even if she didnt, she wanted to be around him, and if she didnt have the job she couldnt be!
Marie drove to the mall and right as she walked inside she seen Patrick right away. He ran up and gave her a hug and said, "Hey Marie! Oh I'm glad your here waiting seems to take forever!" Marie hugged him back and said,
"Aren't people going to notice we're together and being over friendly?"
"Well I know Josh and Kate wont leave their house tonight, and nor will Marc and Sarah or Michael and Jamie, and Ben has a new girlfriend that he wanted to impress with his cooking skills, so we're fine. Whats it matter anyways?" Patrick asked concerned.
"Kate told me the rule Lou made after we left last night, singers can date each other, but employees and singers can't. Otherwise I lose my job...." Marie said sadly.
"Well we haven't told anybody....do you not want to date me?" Patrick asked sadly
"No I want to date you! I just dont want to lose my job...I guess love is worth the risk..." Marie said as she realized she'd said 'love.' Patrick noticed too and gave her a kiss.
"Well if it's love then why not?" He said jokingly.
First they went to a movie (the mall had a movie theatre in it) and then they went to eat and shop. The movie was some romantic comedy or something, neither of them really noticed. Patrick put his arm around Marie half way through it and just cuddled with her. He wanted to kiss her but didnt want to be to forward. While they ate they just talked and got to know each other. Neither of them realized they had so much in common! Half the conversation was apologizing for the things they had said before they told each other the truth. Patrick and Marie both realized this was love, but neither wanted to say it again. When they shopped they tried on outfits for each other and Patrick was getting a little turned on . By the end of the date Patrick insisted that Kate and Josh would be at Josh's hotel room, and it would be safe to go back to the house. Marie hesitantly agreed, she didnt want the night to end! They went into the house and sure enough: Kate and Josh weren't there. Kate had left a note saying her and her sister wouldn't be home tell noon tomorrow. Patrick and Marie sat on the couch and started talking more.
"Do you think maybe....I could stay the night?" Patrick asked hesitantly.
"If I let you stay the night....we'll get caught!" Marie said nervously. She wasn't quite sure how far Patrick had wanted this first date to go!
"I'll leave first thing in the morning, I wake up early, I promise! Trust me I know Josh and Kate well, we dont have any work tell the show tomorrow night, then we get on the bus. Kate and Josh will sleep tell 1! And I've met her sister before, that girl won't wake up tell 2 if you let her. And ben won't either even if they dont do anything." Patrick said as she stroked her side.
Marie was hesitant but said, "Okay... you can stay but you got to promise you'll leave first thing in the morning!"
Patrick smiled and said, "Okay I promise." as he leaned in for a kiss. That kiss didnt stop, nor did the kisses after that! After making out for a half hour things really started to get heated up. Before they knew it they'd gone all the way! When they were finished they cuddled in Marie's bed and fell asleep. The next morning they both slept a little longer then intended. Marie woke up at 11 and Patrick was still there!
"Patrick...Patrick wake up!" Marie said urgently as she tried to gently shake him awake. Patrick relucantly woke up and said, "I'm up I'm up! What time is it?" he said as he reached for his glasses and then looked at the clock and almost freaked!
"Oh my god Marie I'm so sorry! I've never slept this late, ever!" Patrick said as he got up and put his boxers and pants back on.
"Its okay I dont think their home yet!" Marie said as she found her pajamas and put them on. They both got dressed in a hurry and Patrick said,
"I know I have to leave, but I just wanted to say I love you, I really enjoyed last night." as he walked over and kissed Marie goodbye. Before either of them had a chance to say anything Kate just walked in (She wasn't looking up) and said, "Maire get up we need to go...(look up)...shopping for the show. What the hell was that?!" She asked startled. Patrick was still shirtless but he had his jeans on and Marie was dressed in her pajamas, and Kate had seen them kiss. Marie and Patrick both jumped a mile.
"We're drunk really drunk!" Patrick tried to lie, Kate just laughed and said, "Sure ya are! I seen nothing if you'll tell me all later!" and she walked out. Marie got a worried look on her face and Patrick hugged her and said,
"I'm sorry....I should have got up earlier! I love you, and if you get in any trouble just let me know, I have power over Lou, he doesnt like being alone so I'll just say I'm moving out if he doesnt hire you back! Or I can get you some other job or I'll support you just..." Patrick rambled on and Marie interuptted him with a kiss on his last sentence.
"You are so sweet, I'm okay, Kate's my friend...I dont think she'll tell, but you better leave before her other half finds out." Marie said as she handed him his shirt.
"OKay I love you bye bye." Patrick said with a quick kiss.
"I love you too, bye." Marie said as he hugged her and then left.
Patrick barely left before Josh pulled up thankfully! Josh gossips, he would have told everyone! When Josh came in Kate and Marie left to go shopping. When Josh ran off to go to the bathroom while they were on their lunch break, Kate said, "Marie tell all now before he gets back!"
Marie hesitated and then said, "It was great! Patrick is so amazing, I love him so much and he loves me! That night we got in the fight and both left, well I went over to his hotel and we talked and we figured out we loved each other and we went out and last night we....we're together and he's amazing!" Marie said fastly
"Is he any good?" Kate asked with a laugh and a smile
"OMG yes he's the best!" Right then Josh came back so they changed the subject.
***Meanwhile at the hotel***
Patrick pulled up and went into Michael's hotel room since Ben would ask to many questions. Michael was sitting on the couch eating a sandwich when Patrick came in.
"Hey where were you all night?" Michael asked with a laugh
"Out with my girlfriend!" Patrick said with a smile.
"Whoa I see she left some love bites on your neck!" Michael said with a laugh.
"Damn I didnt notice, OMG Michael I'm in love!" Patrick said as he looked in a mirror at the two bright hickeys on his neck.
"Patrick isn't it illegal to love a 15 year old?" Michael asked concerned. He thought Patrick had been with Kristin.
"Ummm yeah...I didnt think of that!" Patrick lied.
"Patrick you have to stop this! Listen you cant have Marie now so why dont you just date some normal aged nice girl?" Michael asked, when he spoke about Marie he just meant it was to late to tell her he liked her. Patrick knew he meant it that way.
"Well I dont...like Marie...and I will date a normal aged girl!" Patrick said defiantly. It wasn't a lie, he didnt like her, he loved her! Later that night before the show him and Marie didnt get a moment alone. After the show Patrick caught her a little before they got on the bus.
"Hey Marie wait! I wanted to give you something." He said as he caught her and looked around, no one was around (they were all showering off, he was dripping with sweat but he didnt care he had to see her alone for a moment! Patrick gave her a hug and kiss, "Sorry I'm a mess, I'm goin to the showers in a sec so I just wanted to give you this while everyone wasnt around!" Patrick said as he handed her a small black velvet box. Marie opened it and inside was a diamond heart charm on a gold necklace chain. It looked really expensive (and it was!)
"Oh Patrick its pretty, thank you!" Marie said as she gave him a hug and kiss.
"Your welcome, I love you, I want to go on another date when we have a chance. I really enjoyed our last one." He said with a laugh right as they heard footsteps coming. They quickly jumped apart and Lou came down the hall.
"Patrick what the hell are you doing? Go to the showers we have to get on the bus soon!"
"Yes sir!" Patrick said as she winked at Marie and left. That night Marie got on Kate's bus and Kate wasn't there yet so shw just looked at the heart. On the back of the charm she noticed it said, 'to the love of my life' and she almost melted! Just then Kate and Josh came on the bus. Josh had been very insistant he was sleeping on his fiancee`'s bus. Marie wished Patrick could too. Right as the door was about to close (5 minutes later) it reopened and Patrick walked on.
"Hey I got ya a suprise Marie, like it?" Kate said with a laugh as she cuddled closer to Josh. Kate had told Lou she wanted Patrick to sleep on her bus so they could work on music some more.

“OMG! Patrick! I can’t believe you are here!” Marie said as she ran into Patrick’s arms. Patrick picked Marie up, and hugged her. “Told you I would find a way to be with you.” Patrick said as he hugged Marie. “Hey now! You have to keep cool, and don’t let this out to anyone. J, you need to keep quiet. Don’t mention this to anyone!! You go me?” Kate said looking at J. “Ok. But I thought Marie was with Ben?” J said looking puzzled. “No! She was just going to go out with him, and hang out with him as friends, but he liked her more than a friend, and she didn’t want to lead him on cause she loves Patrick. Got it?” Kate asked J. “Ok, whatever. So, Marie is with Patrick? Right?” J asked still puzzled. “Right J! Marie is with me. And Im with Marie. End of story. And don’t ever repeat it! Got it?” Patrick asked holding Marie in his lap. “Ok. Got it.” J said as he went to his bunk to set his stuff down. After a couple minutes, Lou came on the bus. Marie was in the back putting her things away, and Patrick was on his bunk putting his stuff away. “Ok, Kate. You sure you don’t mind Patrick on your bus? I can put him on Ben’s bus if you rather?” Lou said. “Nope! I need Patrick here so we can discuss the music writing, and work on things for the tour. Plus, he and Marie need to work together also since she is my assistant.” Kate said cautiously. Just then Marie heard the conversation. She walked out from the back of the bus. “Hi Lou, Im sorry, I didn’t know you were here.” Marie said hesitantly. “Yea, just making sure this arrangement is ok, and everyone is ok with Patrick on your bus.” Lou said sternly. “Yep, I don’t mind. We are just gonna work on the tour, and music.” Marie replied. “OK, well have a good tour, and I’ll keep in touch. Marie, if you need anything, call me, or email me. Ok?” Lou said. “Ok, sure will. Thank you.” Marie said. As Lou walked off the bus and closed the door Marie said….”I wouldn’t call him if my life depended on it!” Everyone laughed. As the bus pulled away Kate, Marie, J, and Patrick felt better knowing know one else could get on unless the bus was stopped. Kate and Marie talked about the tour, and some ideas for the shows and all. Patrick and J played playstation 2.
“Hey Kate, I want to thank you very much for letting Patrick stay on the bus with us. I really wanted him to, and I knew that might not happen. OMG! Girl, you gotta see what Patrick gave me before we left.” Marie said with excitement. “What did he give you?” Kate asked with a little laugh. “He gave me this charm of a heart, and look what is says on the back! It says…To The Love of My Life. OMG! Can you believe this! I love it! Would you help me get it on? Please?” Marie asked excitedly. “Sure, turn around.” Kate replied. Kate helped get the necklace on Marie. “ You better keep the heart in you shirt, and hidden for a while. You must not let anyone see it and if they do. Your boyfriend back home gave it to you. Ok?” Kate said worriedly. She didn’t want Marie or Patrick to get caught. She knew how much they loved each other, and she didn’t want anything happening. “So, tell me. How did this all come about?” Kate asked with a smirk. “What? Patrick and I?” Marie said questioningly. “Yea! Duh!” Kate replied. “Well, after I left the studio the other day, I went to Patrick’s hotel, told him we needed to talk, and he wasn’t very happy to see me at first, but after we started talking and explaining things, he was ok. Finally after an hour or so of talking and all. He and I realized we have been misunderstanding each other, and we wanted to give it another chance. So, He asked me if we could start over, I said…sure, and he kissed me. Then we decided not to fill anyone in on this till we felt sure of the relationship. Then, the other night he staid over. You were with J, and you caught us. And basically, that is all.” Marie said looking at Patrick. “Well, Im glad you and Patrick worked things out, but you two need to be careful knowone else finds out. Specially the fans!! I will keep J quiet, and you and Patrick need to be careful showing your feelings in public. OK?” Kate said. “I know. We can keep quiet, and we aren’t planning on telling anyone. So don’t worry. You and J are the only ones that know. My family or his don’t even know. So, we will be fine. Don’t worry!” Marie said as she got up to go lay down

Patrick quit his game and went to lay by her. The bus was designed so there was a bedroom section (1 bed, for Kate and Josh) and then a living room section (where Patrick and Marie were sleeping.) A few hours passed and they just cuddled and talked.
"Patrick you better not fall asleep by me, or we'll get in trouble." Marie said comfortably, she was almost asleep.
"I'll get up in a second." Patrick said, he stayed tell she was asleep then gave her a kiss on the cheek and went to lay on the floor where he was sleeping. The next morning when everyone woke up the bus was still moving. They were about to stop in Atlanta for some breakfast.
"Hey I could have slept by you and know one would have known!" Patrick said with a laugh as he got up and laid by Marie again.
"Well we can't risk it....and I worry bout Josh, he'll tell I just know it!" Marie said a little upset. Patrick gave her a kiss and said, "Don't worry about him, I think Kate will dump him if he does!"
Just then Josh woke up and came out, Kate was still sleeping.
"I heard that!" Josh said a little annoyed as he sat in a chair and turned on the TV.
"Sure ya did." Patrick said trying to ignore him.
"I'm not as big a blabbermouth as everyone thinks I am. Just because I told everyone when Marc and Sarah got engaged that they were engaged and it was a secret, doesn't mean I tell everything! I haven't told anyone Sarah's pregnant yet have I!?" Josh said very sure of himself. Patrick just laughed and said, "Yeah, you just did!"
"Oh crap please dont tell Marc! Kate will kill me!" Josh said worried now.
"I wont but if you squeal on us I'll squeal on you squealing!" Patrick said as he went back to cuddling with Marie.
A few minutes later the bus pulled to a stop and Patrick had to let go of Marie after a few more kisses. Everyone got off the 2 buses to go eat breakfast at Burger King. Kate was tired and was stumbling off the bus, just like Michael and Ben!
Patrick had a hard time that he couldnt sit or be by Marie but he lived. Kate, Marie, Marc and Sarah finished breakfast early and went back to their buses. Patrick followed. That left Josh, Michael, and Ben.
"You know I'm not really bitter about Marie, she's a nice girl but I love Brittni!" said Ben as he took a drink.
"If your not bitter then why do you mention it?" Michael asked sarcastically.
"Okay I'm a little bitter, I hate it when Patrick treats her like crap, I hope they arent fighting, have they fought Josh?" Ben asked concerned.
"No alls they do is make out and its disgusting!" Josh said as he ate his crossantwich. It didn't dawn on him what he'd said.
"They what?!?" Michael said shocked as Ben choked on his food.
"They ma....I mean they ummm make out like their getting along but their not...yeah thats it! I covered that up pretty well." Josh said as he said the last part to himself.
"Covered what up?" Michael asked now very curious
"Oh damn I'm trapped again! Okay promise you won't tell anyone....but Marie and Patrick are dating, and they can't keep their hands off each other." Josh said giving in innocently.
"What!?!??! Ewwww he don't deserve her!" Ben said with a disgusted look on his face.
"Guys promise me you won't tell ANYONE because Kate will dump me if you do!" Josh pleaded all of a sudden very worried.
"I wont tell....but thats just wrong." Michael said.
"I got to go!" Ben said as he got up and ran for Lou's table.
"BEN NO!" Josh said as he went to stop him. To late.
"LOU PATRICK'S DATING MARIE!" Ben said quickly before Josh jumped on him and put his arm around Ben's mouth. Lou near choked on his 4th sausage and said,
"WHAT? Thats impossible they hate each other..." Josh glared at Ben.
"Well they are!" Ben insisted, okay it was pretty obvious he was still bitter.
"Well just to be sure I'll move Patrick to your bus, and he's not allowed around her!" Said Lou as he picked up some cinni mini's and got up to go to the bus. Thankfully Marie was in the shower so her and Patrick weren't together.
"Patrick!" Lou said as he walked on the bus.
"Yes sir?" Patrick asked.
"Get your stuff, your off this bus, and your not working with Kate or Marie anymore!" Lou said with a mouth full of cinniminis.
"But...but why?" Patrick asked, he was about to cry.
"Because there are rumors, GO I OWN YOU!" Lou said as he stuffed some more cinniminis in his mouth. Patrick very reluctantly went and got his things and left.
Not to long after everyone finished breakfast and got back on this buses. Kate was sleeping again and Josh was sitting on the couch watching TV and worrying when Marie came out of her shower.
"Hey Josh where's Patrick?" She asked, it was obvious she'd dressed nice for him.
"Ummmm.....he.....ummmm...." Josh started and Marie interuptted, "OMG JOSH YOU TOLD!!!!!!!" She said with a very scared look on her face.
"I didnt mean to! Ben and Michael tricked me! And...and...." Josh started to cry, "And...Ben got upset and told Lou and....and....and *sob* I tried to stop him but it was to late!!!!!!!! Please dont tell Kate!" Josh pleaded through his tears. Marie was about to cry.
"So I'm fired?"
"No....Lou didn't believe Ben but he said to be sure he was going to move Patrick into the other bus and *sob* *sniff* you and Kate aren't allowed around him!" Josh said very scared and innocently.
Marie just froze and collapsed on the chair and cried.
"I should have known we couldn't be together!!! *sniff* *sob* I'll fix this." Marie said through her tears as she took out her cell phone and called Patrick.
"Hello?" Patrick was obviously crying too
"Patrick *sniff* its Marie. Listen I *breathe* don't think we should *sniff* see each other anymore!" She said quickly as she hung up. She turned off her ringer and just cried. Kate slept the rest of the ride and didn't know anything was wrong tell they got to their hotel.
*Meanwhile on the other tour bus*
When Patrick got on the tour bus he knew this was all the work of Ben. He hated Ben so SO much but he decided he was to upset to do anything about it. When Michael got on the bus he said, "Pat are you okay?"
Patrick wiped his eyes and said, "No....I love Marie so SO much, and now *sniff* we can't even SEE each other." He started crying harder, Michael went and gave him a hug
"Listen it will be okay, this tour is only oh...3 months long, and once Kate doesnt work for Lou anymore Marie won't either, then you can date her and marry her and what not!" Michael said as he tried to comfort his friend.
"Yeah but thats 3 months to LOOONG!" Patrick sobbed right as his cell phone started ringing. Thats when Marie called and told him they shouldnt see each other.
"We shouldnt see each other anymore!" Marie said as she hung up.
"NOOOO WAIT MARIE.....MArie..?...Marie?" Patrick tried as he started crying even more. He then tried to redial but it didn't work. He just broke down crying and then Ben walked out of the bathroom.
"YOU!!!! You did this to me you SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!" Patrick screamed as she ran and started beating the life out of Ben. Ben tried to fight him off but it wasn't working. Marc and Michael ran over and seperated them.
"You dont deserve her!" Ben screamed as he tried to fight away from Marc.
"YOU DONT DESERVE HER!!! She's mine! She loves ME not youuu!!!" Patrick screamed back.
"SHE DOES *sniff* not!!!!!!!" Ben screamed as he broke down crying.
"Well its nice to see she got you two to hate each other!" Marc said with a laugh as he helped Ben up and took him away from Patrick. Patrick was still trying to fight Michael but gave up.
"Patrick you just need some rest." Michael said as he helped Patrick over to the bed. Patrick cried himself to sleep. 2 hours later they arrived at their hotel.
When both buses pulled up at the hotel Josh woke Kate up and him and Marie went into their room. Two minutes later Michael had to carry Patrick out of the tour bus because he was still asleep and Michael was afraid to wake him up! Ben on the other hand had calmed down and decided he was just hurt by Marie, not in love with her and he even felt bad about what he had done.
When Kate and Marie got to their hotel room Josh said,
"Who wants to go swimming?"
"I'll go, you comin Marie?" Kate said excitdley, she didnt know...
"No...I'm...I'm...fine I just...want to rest." Marie said very depressed.
"Whats wrong?" Kate asked concerned.
"Oh nothing my umm...my Grandpa died a year ago and he was really close to me and today would be his birthday." Marie lied quickly, Josh was her friend, and even though she was upset with him and he was a blabber mouth idiot, she didnt want Kate mad at him.
"Oh Marie I'm so sorry....anything I can do to cheer you up?" Kate asked as she gave Marie a hug.
"No...just let me have some time to rest." Marie said weakly.
"Oh...okay. We'll be back in an hour." Kate said as she hesitatnly went to go put on her swimsuit.
"Why'd you do that for me?" Josh whispered to Marie.
"Because you didnt mean to, its okay Josh..." Marie whispered back as she put her suitcase down.
Kate and Josh went swimming and Marie stayed in the room and just cried. She took off the necklace and put it away with her sweater. She couldn't stand to see them.
***Meanwhile in the rest of Natural's hotel room***
"Hey wanna go swimming with me n Ben?" Marc asked Michael. Michael had laid Patrick on the bed because he still hadn't woke up.
"Umm sure, lemme write Pat a note." Michael said.
The guys left and Patrick woke up an hour later. He realized he must have slept and someone brought him in. He read Michael's note and just locked the door, he didnt want anyone coming in for awhile, he wanted to be alone. After him and Marie both wallowed in self pity and sadness for an hour they both decided they were hungry and decided to go down to the snack machiene.
Patrick got there first. Marie came next and when she seen him she decided to go back to her room, but Patrick ran and stopped her.
"Marie no dont run, stop!" he said as he caught her and held her, "Why did you leave me?" he was about to cry again.
"Because Patrick we can't be together, we just can't!" Marie sobbed. Patrick held her and wiped her tears.
"Yes we can, yes we can shhh... Listen if you'll take me back I swear I'll see to it, I promise, I did it last time I can do it again!" Patrick said as he held her.
"Patrick I dont want you to lose your job either!" Marie said sadly.
"I dont care, I love music, but I love you more!" Patrick said as he kissed her.
"Come on, lets go back to your room, Josh wont be back for awhile I'm sure!" Patrick laughed. Marie decided if him and Kate came back early she'd just tell them she wanted more time alone. When her and Patrick got back to the hotel they just laid on the bed and cuddled and kissed.
"I dont want you to ever leave me again, you'll be the death of me if you do!" Patrick said as he kissed her.
"I'm sorry Patrick, but it just seems so simple..." Marie said as he gave her another kiss.
"Well its not simple, its worse then complicated! Listen tomorrow after the show no one knows we're together. We're having a two night show here so we got time. I'll just rent another room at a different hotel, and we can spend some time together okay?" Patrick asked as he kissed her again.
"Okay, but you gotta tell me the room number and stuff." Marie said with a laugh.
"No prob just a sec," Patrick said as he took out his cell phone and called the Hampton Inn (about a street away) After booking the room he said, "Room 673 at the Hampton Inn just down the road okay? You can make up whatever excuse you want, I'll just say I'm going to go try and get over you." Patrick kissed her again.
"Okay..." Marie said as she quickly got up and wrote that down. Just then Patrick heard Michael and Ben shouting in the hall ways and he kissed Marie goodbye and ran out of the room into his own. When they came back he just did his best not to smile. When Kate and Josh came back to their room Marie did her best not to smile too. The next day passed quickly, Marie couldn't wait for the night. She just told Kate and Josh she was going to spend the night with her family because they lived a few hours from where they were. They bought it and Marie was off to the Hampton Inn for her ight with Patrick. She drove up and seen his car and went in. She found the room and knocked on the door....

When Marie went in the room Patrick was in the shower. “Hey. Im here. Just to let you know.” Marie said as she set her things down. “Ok, be out in a minute. Patrick replied. As Marie put her things away, and got her things out that she need Patrick walked out of the shower. “Sorry Im wet, I was just gonna ask you to PLEEEEASSE turn the AC down!” Patrick said. With a laugh Marie said…”Sure. Wouldn’t want you to freeze.” “Well if I do, I have a reason to cuddle up to you.” Patrick said with a sly grin. “Oooooh ok.” Marie said with a light laugh. While Patrick was finishing his shower, Marie watched some TV, and laid on the bed. After another 25 minutes, Patrick came out. “So, what do u want to do?” Patrick asked as he laid down next to Marie. “Well let’s see. We are alone, know one to bother us, and…. Patrick started kissing Marie before she could finish. “That?” Patrick asked with a light laugh. “Yea, that was part of it.” Marie said with a laugh. “Well, let’s order a movie, and watch it. Even though we probably wont finish it.” Patrick said with a laugh. So Patrick got a movie from down stairs for them to watch, but as he said , they didn’t finish the movie.
The next morning Patrick woke up and after he was fully awake he realized him and Marie had slept way to late! They were up tell 3am and now it was 2pm! He found his cell phone and noticed about 50 messages on it. He immediatly called Michael.
"Hey Pat where have you been?!? Lou's been looking for ya, we were supposed to do a local TV show thankfully Kate covered for us, we noticed Marie wasnt with her...." Michael said suspiciously
"Michael shut up about *sniff* Marie!" Patrick said faking crying, he didnt want Michael to figure it out because Ben was most likely listening too. Patrick full out started crying and Michael said, "Whoa sorry dude I'm sorry I wont mention Ma...I mean her. Anyways you might as well just come in now, we have the show in 4 hours and you know we have to get into the staduim before we get mauled!" Michael said repentingly.
"Oh...oh kay *sniff* I'll be there in an hour *sob*." Patrick said as he hung up. Right about then Marie woke up and seen him wiping away his tears.
"Patrick whats wrong?" She asked very concerned as she sat up and hugged him.
"Nothing *Sniff* nothings wrong just gotta quit crying." Patrick said as he wiped his tears away with a laugh.
"Honey....why were you crying?" Marie asked hesitantly
"Because I called Michael because we slept to late, and he was on to us, so I decided to cry and make i sound like we weren't." Patrick said as he wiped away his last tear and kissed Marie, "Besides you make me feel all better! I love you." He said very sweetly.
"aww your so good to me, I love you too." Marie said as she gave him a kiss.
"Listen honey I'm sorry but I gotta get a shower and get out of here or they'll kill me! I love you." Patrick said as he kissed her and got up to go in the shower fast. He wanted to give her time to get ready to leave too.
10 minutes later they were both ready and kissed each other goodbye and left.
Before Patrick got to the staduim he made sure his eyes looked red and he looked sad. At least it would get rid of some suspicions. When he got there the guys all comforted him. Meanwhile when Marie caught up with Kate, Kate asked how it had gone. Marie just lied and said well.
"Hey since we have a lil time, you want to go shopping?" Kate asked Marie. "Sure. Let' go." Marie replied. The mall was only about 10 minutes away, so Kate and Marie left. When they got to the mall Marie said…"Let's go to American Eagle, and Abercromdie and Fitch. " "Ok, let's go." Kate replied. As the girls walked Marie was thinking of the things she wanted to get. When they got to American Eagle Marie saw some really cute things Patrick might like on her. She got a shirt that ties in the front, a baby blue tee that said American Girl, and a transparent shirt that was an ocean blue. As Marie looked she also found a really cute pair of jeans with flares at the bottom. She then looked at the under garments. She found a white, black, and red bra. She also got the matching undies that matched them. They were bikini fit. After she tried on almost everything in the store, Marie got her a pair of light blue PJs with spaghetti straps for the arms. On the front of the PJs' shirt it read "Heaven." Kate also got her some new jeans and a couple shirts as well. As Marie tried everything on, Kate would say…."Patrick will love it!" "Yea, sure." Marie would reply. After the little shopping spree the girls went back to the staduim where Kate had to perform and so did Natural. That night Marie got on the bus with Kate and Josh. Kate didn't know that Patrick and Marie had broken up or anything. No one had told her.
"How come Patrick's not sleeping on our bus?" Kate asked dazed by that fact.
"He had to sleep on the other bus, the guys were kinda getting suspicious...." Marie lied. Josh ran and hugged her.
"Whats that all about?" Kate asked even more suspicious
"Nothing!" Josh said nervously, "Umm... lets go have sex!" He said trying to make Kate forget everything.
"Are you kidding? You just dance and stood for 3 hours, and I danced in those heels and I'm tired and you are too, and on top of all that Marie's here!" Kate said matter of factly.
"Well spoil my fun..." Josh said as he went back into the bedroom.
"Is Patrick that crazy?" Kate asked Marie jokingly
"Nah he's such a sweetie...to bad he's not here..." Marie said sadly.
"Well call him, meanwhile I'll go deal with that." Kate said as she pointed towards the bedroom.
The next 2 days Natural and Kate only stopped to eat, they had to be in NYC soon. When they got to NYC they had a hurried performance then another 1 the next night, then they were given a day off because Marc demanded it due to Sarah's 'flu'... On that day off Marie just slept in Kate's hotel room. The morning of their free day Marie woke up at noon to a knock on the door.
"I'm coming...I'm coming." Marie said as she stumbled to the door in her new pajamas.
"Hey honey!" Patrick said as he threw his arms around her and gave her a kiss.
"Patrick! Oh I missed you..." Marie said excitedly.
"Missed you too baby." Patrick said as he cuddled into her a little more.
"I was thinking we could spend all day together, and we can just stay together tonight..." Patrick said with a kiss.
"Sounds great but lemme get dressed and a shower." Marie said as she looked at herself.
"Can I join you?" Patrick asked with a laugh
"Josh is here..." Marie said hesitantly.
"He'll never know." Patrick said very slyly.
"Alright."
So the two got in their shower and had their fun, and right as they were walking out of the bathroom they walked into the room where Kate and Josh were sitting on the bed eating some cereal.
"What the hell?" Josh asked confused
Kate just laughed.
"Ummm...my showers broke..." Patrick tried to lie again.
"Good one, its better then your kissing excuse!" Kate said with a laugh.
Patrick and Marie spent the whole day together after that. Thankfully Josh kept his mouth shut. That night as they were about fall asleep by each other Patrick said, "Marie I have another present for you."
"Really...what?" Marie asked as she woke up a little, she was so comfy laying on him.
"Here..." Patrick said as he handed her a small black velvet ring box. When Marie opened it she seen a gold band with a huge pink diamond in the shape of a heart (like JLo's) with diamonds on the side and as she seen it Patrick asked,
"Will you marry me....after the tour of course." He was almost shaking he was so nervous...

“OMG! Marie squealed. Yes! Of course I will marry you. But, I feel we should wait. Know one even knows we are together, and we are engaged? I think we should wait till at least people know we are together, and Kate breaks away from Lou. You know. Since I will be working for Kate, and I won’t be considered an employee of Lou’s, we can be together, and it will be safer.” Marie said as she laid on Patrick’s’ chest. “I totally see what you mean. You are so very smart. I now know why I want to marry you. You are smart, sweet, witty, beautiful, and wonderful.” Patrick said as he held Marie. Marie laid next to Patrick in silence. “You ok? You are being offly quiet.” Patrick said as he looked at Marie. “Yes, Im fine. Im just a little shocked that Im engaged, and Im just so happy.” Marie said as she kissed Patrick. “Marie, did I tell you how adorable you look in those PJ’s? My God you look adorable. I could just kiss you!” Patrick said as he looked at Marie. “What is stopping you?” Marie asked Patrick with a devilish grin. Patrick turned over and started kissing, and cuddling Marie. That night things got a little heated, and again, things went all the way. After a while of together time, Patrick said to Marie. “I want you to know Im gonna get back on that bus if it kills me. I will find a way. I can’t bare spending a second without you, and I need to be with you on that bus!” With a laugh Marie said…”Ok, I hope it works, and if it does, we shouldn’t bathe together! That may scare J!” Both of them started laughing just thinking of the look on J’s face when they walked out of the bathroom. “I thought J was gonna choke on his cereal.” Patrick said laughing really hard. “Yea, he looked pretty distraught.” Marie said laughing.
The next day Patrick and Marie actually woke up early. Actually, Marie didn’t sleep much that night, she was so excited about her engagement. “Hey baby. How did you sleep?” Patrick said as he gave Marie a kiss on her neck. “Hey, I actually didn’t sleep very much. I was a little too excited about everything. Being with you, being engaged to you, and just being with you. It is the best feeling in the world. Patrick, I love you so much! I love you, I love you, I love you!” Marie said as she put her arms around Patrick. “Awwwww…Marie I love you! You are the best, and you are beautiful.” Patrick said as he put his arms around Marie and kissed her. That night the guys had a show to do in NYC, so Patrick had to rehearse with the guys that day. Marie and Kate went shopping, and went to there rehearsals. Before going back to the studio where the guys were rehearsing, Marie decided she wanted her bellybutton pierced. So, her and Kate went to get it done. As the guy was piercing Marie's bellybutton Kate said, "Patrick is soo gonna love that ring!" "Yea, I hope so. I actually did it cause I hear he likes them, plus, I do to. So, if he likes them, he wont be mad if I got it done." Marie shreeked. Her bellybutton was starting to sting. After they were done the girls headed back to the studio. Kate was actually off that night, so she just hung out with Marie, and stayed backstage with the guys, and Marie. That night Marie wore her new jeans, her see through shirt, and her new under clothing’s as well. Before the show Marie and Kate where in the dressing room with the guys, and Lou. While talking to J, Ben looked over at Marie when he walked in. “OMG! Marie looks HOT!” Ben said to Marc as he walked in. “Yea, she isn’t looking to bad, but I have Sara, and Im not to say anymore.” Marc replied as he walked to the other side of the room. Just as Ben was about to get ready Lou called him over. “I heard what you just said. I have a feeling you like Marie, and you made up the story her and Patrick like each other. Those two have barely spoken, and I don’t feel you are right. I think you like Marie, and the thought of Patrick being around her worries you. You are afraid Marie might start liking him, and you don’t like it. Ben, I am not sure what the deal is, but I feel you were wrong about Patrick and Marie. Ive been watching them, and they don’t show any sign of liking for one another. Im putting Patrick back on Marie’s, J’s, and Kate’s bus. If you have any more hunches about something again. Make sure you have proof!” Lou walked off before Ben could speak. “Patrick, I want to apologize to you. I jumped to conclusions, and I was wrong. You are welcome to join Marie, Katie, and J on the bus again starting tomorrow. Please forgive me. Im sorry.” Lou said to Patrick. “Oh, yes sir. I will join them on the bus tomorrow. Thank you sire.” Patrick replied back. “Oh! If you and J want to share a room, and Marie and Kate can share a room. So, you all can work together. I will put your rooms side by side. Ok?” Lou added. “Oh ok, sire. That will be fine. Thank you.” Patrick responded. Patrick couldn’t believe what Lou had said. He wasn’t sure what made him say it, but he wasn’t about to question it either. After Lou left the room, Patrick ran over to tell Marie what he had said. Marie was ecstatic. She could believe it. Soon as she had a moment she whispered the deal to Kate. “OMG! Are you for real?” Kate said in a shocked tone. “Yes! Can you believe it? OMG!” Marie squealed. With a light laugh Kate said….”Now you and Patrick don’t have to use our bathroom. I can let J sleep in my room, and you and Patrick can share a room. Our doors will connect, so you and him can just go back and forth. We can turn our rooms into one big room.” Kate said with a shriek. Both girls were thrilled and really excited. After the show, Patrick, Marie, Kate, and J all went back to the hotel. As planned they swapped rooms, J stayed with Kate, and Patrick stayed with Marie. Both the guys left there belongings in one room so if Lou or someone came in, it wouldn’t look odd having there things in two different rooms. Marie and Kate did the same.
That evening Patrick and Marie didn’t feel very tired. “So, what do you want to do?” Marie asked Patrick. “I know you got those jeans, a couple shirts, the ADOREABLE PJs, but did you get anything else?” Patrick asked with e sly grin. “A matter of fact, I did get a couple other things.” Marie said with a shy grin. “What was it?” Patrick asked with a grin. “I got three new bra’s and matching undies…bikini style!” Marie said with a smile. “Oh! You soooooo gotta try those on! Let me see!” Patrick said as he laid on the bed. “Ok, be right back. I dought you will like them, but ok.” Marie said with a laugh. Riiigghhht Patrick thought to himself. If anything…Im gonna love this. First Marie came out with her white bra, and matching undies. “Oh, that is cute!” Patrick chirped. Next she went to try on the red colored ones. “Oh yea…those are reeeeeaaaallly nice Patrick said looking at her. “Anymore?” Patrick asked hopingly. “Yea, one more. These are my favorite. Marie said walking back into the bathroom. Finally after a couple minutes she came out in the black pair. “Oh God! I like those A LOT!” Patrick chirped. ‘You like these better, or another pair?” Marie asked shyly. “ I honestly LOVE that pair you are wearing. Those look best on you!” Patrick said as he pulled Marie closer to him. Later that night Marie and Patrick didn’t sleep much. They both mainly wanted to just talk, and hang out in the hotel room. “So, how much longer is Kate still gonna be working with Lou?” Patrick asked. “Oh! After this tour, she is finished with him. He just asked her to tour with you guys, and because she is, Lou considers that as working for him. After this tour, she will have nothing to do with Lou. And neither will I! Thank God!” Marie said. “Can I ask you something, and please be honest.” Patrick said. “Sure, what’s up?” Marie replied. “Do you want kids?” Patrick asked quietly. “Uh?” That kind of took Marie off guard. “Ya, some day. But right not I just want to work, and be married. Why? Don’t you?” Marie asked kind of concerned. “Yes! Id love to have a kid someday, but like you said. I want to be married for a while, and just work. Don’t get me wrong! I love kids, I just want to wait, and I asked just so I know how you felt.” Patrick said looking her. “Oh. I completely understand. Im glad you asked. I was wondering how you felt about the deal of kids also. Im happy with what we decided.” Marie replied “Would you like a boy, or a girl?” Patrick quietly asked. “Id like a girl, or a boy is fine. If I had a girl I can dress her up in those adorable little outfits, put her hair in pick tails, and just make her look so adorable.” Marie said kind of in a dream of thought. “Hello?” Patrick said as he tried to get Marie’s attention. “Oh sorry! I was kind of dreaming there. Sorry.” Marie said with a laugh. “Yea, I could tell.” Patrick said with a laugh. Marie was getting dressed, and Patrick was just watching TV. “Ouch!” Marie squealed. “What? What happened” Patrick asked jumping off the bed. “Oh, Good Grief! I just pulled on the bellybutton ring, and it hurt. I was trying to get this darn shirt on.” She replied. “Well, come here. I’ll help you.” Patrick said with a laugh. “Stop laughing at me. Im hung in this darn shirt!” Marie said trying to get untangled. Patrick was really trying not to laugh, but he just couldn’t help it. “Here put your head through this whole, and stop squirming!” Patrick said laughing. “You better not be laughing at me!” Marie said. “Ok, here. You are free, and I wasn’t laughing at you. I was laughing with you.” Patrick said trying very hard not to laugh. “You are laughing, and I wasn’t laughing, so busted!” Marie said walking back into the bathroom to finish getting dressed. After that Patrick just laid on the bed to watch TV. After another 15 minutes Kate came over. “Why are you laughing?” she asked looking at Patrick. “Nothing.” He said putting his head in his pillow. “He is laughing cause I got hung in this damn shirt because of the bellybutton ring, and he had to help me get untangled.” Marie said walking out of the bathroom. “And! If he doesn’t stop laughing, he is sleeping on the floor tonight.” Marie said laughing. “Hey! I heard that! That isn’t nice! You are just so cute, and it was kinda funny seeing you all tangled up. Im sorry. I won’t laugh. Patrick said trying really hard to keep a straight face. Kate also began to laugh. “Why you laughing?” Marie said kinda ticked. “Cause you got stuck!” Kate said as she fell over laughing. That didn’t help matters. Patrick and Kate were both laughing, and they couldn’t stop. “Uh! You two are so mean. Forget it! Next time I get stuck…kill me!” Marie said sitting on the bed next to Patrick. Patrick sat up and put his arms around her. Im sorry…I wont laugh anymore.” He said still laughing. “Uh! You are still laughing. Get over it! Both of you. About then, J walked in. “What is so funny?” He asked. “Nothing!” Marie snapped, “Geez….sorry!” J said. “Well I just wanted to let you know Ben and called and he was wondering if we wanted to all go to lunch.” J replied. “Yea, sure.” Patrick said…still laughing. He just couldn’t forget the look on Marie’s face when she got stuck. Kate was also still laughing as well. “Umm…they all said sure.” J said to Ben who was still on the cell phone. Patrick and Marie took one car and Kate and Josh took a different one. On the drive there Marie realized and urgently said, "Patrick Ben doesn't know we're together....only Kate thinks we are..." Patrick thought quielty for a minute and then said, "Well we wont tell anyone, Kate wont tell because she thinks no one but Josh knows, and we just have to behave..." Patrick said as he kissed her hand.
"What about my ring?" Marie asked as she looked at the huge ring on her finger.
"Well...you can take it off if you want...Ben has seen it cuz I was showing it off to all the guys saying I was going to give it to the girl I loved." Patrick said with a little laugh
"Why did you do that? Now I can never wear it in front of them..." Marie said sadly as she still stared at the ring.
"Well...because I needed advice. I couldn't decide which ring to get you so I asked Michael and Ben to help me. Ben was ecstatic because he thinks I gave it to Kris or whats her face?" Patrick asked confused on the name. Marie just laughed and smiled and said,
"Aww I'm not upset, thats sweet of you. It was Kristen."
Patrick just smiled and said, "Whatever her name isnt important, shes ugly anyways, and shes just a social climber, I love you." Marie just smiled and then reluctantly took off her huge engagement ring and put it in the small case she had in her purse (it was worth a million or so dollars, even though she didnt know that it would be a shame to leave where anyone could steal it!)
When Patrick and Marie got to the restraunt, Josh and Kate were already there. When they got inside they found all of Natural was there, and Lou too.
"Hey guys okay I'm gonna get straight to buisness now." Lou said as they sat down. No one thought it would look suspicious if they came in together, nobody really paid it any mind since they thought Patrick was engaged to someone else.
Lou took a sip of his soup (it was like a country kitchen restraunt, not to fancy, but it was no Burger King either!) and then said, "This tour has been going pretty smoothly lately, and well I decided, Kate your an unsigned singer, just got your manager. Well that is to say you just HAD your manager." Kate looked confused. "Me and Jim (Kate's manger) talked it over today and Transcon will be signing its newest star!" Lou said excitdely. Kate had been happy because Jim had told her she had a deal in the works, but she didnt know it was Transcon.
"I'm signed?" Kate asked confused.
"Well not yet, you and Jim have to come over tonight to sign the contract of course." Lou said with a smile. Kate forgot about Marie's situation for a second and she was ecstatic. Marie and Patrick both looked crushed when that news came. Lou seen Marie's disappointed look and said,
"Oh don't worry Marie, your officially hired as Kate's tour manager, you'll be with her all the time. It's a full time good paying job."
Patrick excused himself then and ran into the bathroom. He didnt want Lou to see him cry over that news.
Lou was so excited he paid for the dinner and everything. Before Marie had a chance to privatly talk with Kate, Kate was rushed off to Lou's office to sign. Marie and Patrick just left after they did. Marie and Patrick didn't say one word in the car. Marie was to deep in thought, and Patrick was scared he would cry if he did.
When they got back to the tour bus (they were moving on now) Kate was there and her and Josh were talking happily. Lou had apparently promised her and Natural would be working VERY closely (touring together, promoting together, etc...) Marie just broke down into tears then.
"Marie whats wrong? Your going to make more money then ever!" Kate said concerned.
"Not if me and Patrick get married!" Marie said through her sobs. Patrick just held her closely. Kate remembered now!
"Oh god Marie I am so SO sorry it didnt even dawn on me it was like I was high or something! I'm so so so so sorry I'm sorry I cant undo it, the contracts signed!" Kate said sadly and repentingly. Marie just continued to cry onto Patricks shoulder and he comforted her. Kate felt so bad. She just went into her room and cried herself to sleep. The next morning Kate woke up and Patrick and Marie were sitting on the couch just cuddling and talking. Kate walked up and said,
"Marie your an excellent employee, but your fired."
"But why?" Marie asked shocked.
"Because you and Patrick are in love, I cant stand in your way..." Kate said with a smile.
"But what about my job?" Marie asked, she had needed the money.
"Dont worry, I can support us both, just tour with us." Patrick said as he hugged her, he was honestly very relieved.
"Oh Patrick I dont want you to do that..." Marie said as Patrick kissed her and said, "I know you dont want me to, but I'm gonna be your husband and I will support you! At least until Lou revokes that damn rule..."
Marie didnt know what to think but she just agreed.

After Kate told Patrick and Marie her decision she felt bad, even though it was to help them. “Aww…don’t feel bad. What you did actually helped. I can stay with Patrick, who wont loose his job, and I can still stay here with you, and the guys.” Marie said as she gave Kate a hug. About then the phone rang. “Hello?” Kate answered. “Oh hi Lou. What can I do for you? Yea, she quiets, for some reason. She just told me this afternoon. Ok, I will. Bye bye.” Kate hung up her cell phone. “What was all that about?” Marie asked lying on Patrick’s lap. “Lou wants to see you tomorrow.” Kate replied. “Why? What’s wrong? Marie asked worriedly. “He wants to know why you quiet.” Kate told her.
That night Marie didn’t sleep. She was worried for Patrick’s job, and what Lou would say, or do. Patrick woke up, and Marie wasn’t there. “Marie? Where are you?” Patrick said as he sat up. “Yea. Im here.” Marie said sitting in the chair crying. Patrick turned on the light. Marie was sitting in the chair crying. “Oh baby! What is wrong? Why are you crying?” Patrick said as he brought Marie back to bed with him. Sobbing Marie said…”Lou wants to see me tomorrow, and I don’t know why. Im afraid he is gonna suspect something. You will get in trouble, and it is will be all my fault!” “No! You aren’t gonna get in trouble, and neither am I. Marie, everything is gonna be fine. Just tell Lou, you quiet the assistant job cause you and I want to be together, and we want to get married. So, you quit cause you didn’t want to break any rules, and we didn’t want to get in trouble. Please don’t cry. I am not gonna loose my job. Everything will be fine. Come lay here by me. I will hold you till you fall asleep. I love you, and don’t worry.” Patrick told Marie. As Patrick held Marie, she still sobbed, but after about a hour of Ptrick rubbing her back and just holding her. Marie fell asleep. The next morning Marie woke up at 8am. She got up, got a shower and got ready. Just as she was getting ready, Patrick woke up. “Hey you. How are you feeling?” Patrick asked Marie as he laid in bed waking up. “Im ok. Im gonna just tell Lou what you said, and if he wants me gone for good. He is gonna have to fight me!” Marie said. With a light laugh Patrick replied. “Marie, you don’t work for him, and he can’t banned you. We are engaged. He can’t do anything. Don’t worry.” Patrick got out of bed to get him some coffee, as he was getting his coffee he was looking for a shirt to wear cause it was kinda cold on the bus. As he was looking He found something interesting. He found a pregnancy test box. “Marie!” Patrick said kinda loudly. “Yea, what is it?” Marie said. “What is this?” Marie looked at what Patrick had in his hand. “Oh! That?” she replied. “Yea...that.” Patrick said holding up the box again. “Oh ummm, well I was worried so I took a test, but it was negative, and it’s all good.” Marie said going back into the bathroom. “Marie! Get back here. Why didn’t you tell me? Or were you just gonna wait nine months, then tell me?” Patrick said kinda frustrated. “Patrick. I was gonna tell you if it was something to worry about. But it isn’t so calm down.” Marie snapped back. “Calm down? Marie, this isn’t something you don’t tell me! If you were worried about this…you tell! If I was worried about this…Id tell you.” Marie gave him a worried look. “Ok, bad example! But…God Marie. You should have told me! Im going to go watch the news. We will talk later.” Patrick said walking back to the front of the bus. Marie felt bad for not telling him, but she didn’t want to worry him over something that wasn’t to worry about. Marie decided to just let Patrick cool down, and she would talk to him later. After she got ready, she sat in bed to read some of her book. Finally J and Kate got up. “Hey. What’s up?” Kate asked Marie. “Not much.” she answered. “Where is Patrick?” Kate asked. Up front watching the news.” Marie said with tears in her eyes. “You ok? What is wrong?” Kate asked sitting next to her. “Oh, Patrick and I just got in a little fuss. It’s nothing.” Marie replied. “It’s NOTHING! Not telling me you might be pregnant is nothing?? Ok..Whatever Marie!” Patrick said from the kitchen. J and Kate just looked at one another. “You were afraid you were pregnant, and you didn’t tell him? Oh God girl! You crazy?” Kate replied. “That is what I thought Kate!” Patrick snapped. “Ok ok, ok, ok, …calm down. She isn’t pregnant, and everything is ok for now. Let’s just cool off, and we will talk later.” Kate said getting up. “We? Who is we?” Patrick asked. “You and Marie I mean. Sorry.” Kate replied back. After about 30 minutes, the bus arrived back at the hotel. Everyone got their things and took them to their rooms. Marie and Patrick didn’t speak. Marie got her stuff, and the keys to go meet with Lou.
When Marie arrived Lou was waiting for her. “Hi Marie. How are things?” Lou asked. “Fine thank you.” She answered. “So, would you please tell me why you quit?” Lou said looking at her. “Well sire. Patrick and I wanted to date, but we knew of this rule you have. We didn’t want to risk anything, so I quit so he can stay with Natural, and I can legally stay with him, without getting in trouble.” Marie responded. “So, how long has this dating thing been going on?” Lou asked sternly. For about 2 ½ months sire.” Marie answered. “So, you and Patrick have been together since the beginning basically. Right?” Lou asked her. “Yes sire. We have. We actually are now engaged, and we want to be together. So, I quit so he can keep his job, and I will find another.” Marie said. “Marie, you are one of the best I have assistant wise, and Kate needs you. I think I will ask you to stay, but you have to promise, this marriage, or anything will get in the way of your work. I can’t afford to lose a hard worker like you. So, Im bending the rules…this time. I could fire Patrick and Kate for letting this happen. But, Im not. You and Patrick obviously want to be together, and I will let you stay long as you swear to me, you and Patrick don’t let this effect your work.” Lou said as he shook Marie’s hand. “Thank you sire. We wont. I promise, and thank you.” Marie said as she left. When she got back to the hotel, Patrick left her a note.

After an hour or so Marie woke up.Marie was tired of fighting with Patrick, so she decided she wanted her own room. After she packed, and got all her things together she went over to Kate and J’s room. “Hey I think Im gonna get my own room. I dont feel like staying with Patrick right now for a while. I need some space from Patrick.” Marie said as shegave J and Kate her new room number. "It is room 648. Right accross from you." Marie repleid. "We will be here for the next couple weeks, and so that is fine with me. “Hey, how did the meeting go with Lou?” J asked. “Oh yea!” Kate said as she remembered. “It was fine. I promised, this marriage, or anything won’t get in the way of our work. He can’t afford to lose a hard worker like me. So, he is bending the rules…this time. He wasn’t to thrilled of what happened, but he still wants me to be the assistant, and he said long as the marriage, and work doesn’t interfere, he is fine. Patrick can keep his job, and I can stay your assistant Kate.” Marie replied. “Well that is good.” J replied. “Well Im gonna go. Talk to you later.” Marie said as she walked out. As she leaving she ran into Patrick outside. “Where are you going?” Patrick asked her. “Im going to go stay in my own room for a while. I need some time to myself. See ya later.” Marie said as she left .
When Marie got to her room she put her things away, and decided she wanted to do some exercises. She put on her sweats, and a work out bra. As she was doing her exercises Kate and J came in. “Hey, Marie, you here?” Kate said walking in. “Yea, Im here!” Marie said. “Nice outfit. To bad Patrick isn’t here.” Kate said jokingly. “Hahaha…very funny.” Marie replied. “What are you two doing here?” She asked Kate. “Well, we wanted to make sure you were ok.” J replied as Patrick came in the door. “Marie?” Patrick said standing there. “You ok?” J asked Patrick. "Just wanted to making sure she was ok. See ya later." Patrick said as he left.
Thant night backstage Marie was talking to Katie as the guys got ready for there show. "What are you looking at?" Marc asked Patrick. "Marie, she just looks really cute in that.” Patrick replied. “Forget what Im wearing! What do you want? I don’t feel like talking to you, and you over react! I am tired of fighting with you. All we do is fight, and you get mad at me for some of the silliest things! It is stupid!” Marie said as she sat talking to Kate. “You think not telling me you were worried about being pregnant, and not telling me was stupid? I think it was because you were afraid you were pregnant, and you didn’t want me to know.” Patrick said yelling at her. Just then the rest of the guys walked in to get ready. “What in the world?” Michael asked. Not thinking Patrick said: “Marie took a pregnancy test, didn’t tell me, I didn’t find out till I found the box in the trash, and she acts like it was nothing since she isn’t pregnant!” Patrick said still yelling. “WHAT!” Michael said in a state of shock. “It wasn’t me!” Ben said kinda lost. “I know it wasn’t you, you idiot!” Patrick said as he sat down on the couch. “He isn’t a idiot! You are the idiot!” Marie said as she looked over at Patrick. “ I know this is a bad time, but why are you worried about her being pregnant? Why is Patrick yelling at you when he has Kristen, and Im really lost!” Marc said puzzled. Kate and J never said a word. They were to busy listening, to really say anything. “Ok! There is NO Kristen! Marie was the girl I was getting advice on, and we are engaged. Lou knows, he is cool with it. And Marie thought she was pregnant. Did I cover everything?” Patrick said looking at Marie. “Yea, whatever.” Marie said. “God! Stop saying whatever! It drives me crazy!” Patrick snapped. “WHAT EEEVVVEER!” Marie said as she gpt up tp gp tp the other side of the room. The rest of the guys decided they might as well leave since they were not going to get anything done with this mess. Patrick was so lonely that night. He felt bad about fighting with Marie, and he missed her so much. Then he noticed she had left her engagement ring in his room in its box. He started crying when he seen that. He went over to Marie's room and knocked on the door.
"What do you want?" Marie asked coldly as she opened the door a crack.
"I just wanted to know how mad you were at me, I'm sorry honey I really am!" Patrick said quickly before she slammed the door and said (through the door)
"Well why did YOU yell at me over something so damn stupid?"
Patrick looked down at the ringbox he'd brought with.
"Because Marie if we're going to get married we cant keep things from each other."
Marie thought a second and then said, "Patrick I'm scared this wont be our last fight....I"ll talk to you later."
Patrick tried to persuade her otherwise but she didnt listen and he gave up. The next morning Marie woke up about 3AM. She hadnt really slept. Natural and Kate's tour had them currently in Texas. Marie booked a flight for 5AM and she left. She just left a note that said, "Hey Katie I'm sorry but I dont want to keep working anymore, I'm leaving...and have Patrick read this and tell him I think we should see other people....we're not ready to date let alone marry! I have to go now...-Marie"
Then she left. As she drove away Patrick got a bad feeling (he wasnt sleeping either) and went to get something from a vending machiene. Thats when he noticed Marie's door opened and went in. She wasnt there and he found the note. He broke down crying and had no clue where she was! He decided against waking Kate and Josh up and he just went back to his room and ended up crying tell he fell asleep. The next morning at breakfast (they were now on the bus) Patrick was sitting very quiet on the bus starring at the blank TV. Kate had just woke up and got on and said,
"Hey Patrick where's Mrs. King?" Patrick just rubbed his hands and said,
"She left me, we're not ready apparently, so she's no Mrs. King. She also quit." He said it very coldly without emotion.
"What when why where!?!?" Kate asked suddenly alert and concerned.
"I dont know, I dont know, because she hates me, and I dont know." Patrick said very toneless. Kate got on her cell phone and called Marie. No answer. She gave up and comforted Patrick for awhile.
The tour was on its way to Louisiana, and after that it was finished with a final show back in Tarpon Springs, Flordia. Marie lived about 4 hours away from there. The 2 days passed and no word from Marie. Patrick was quiet all the time, he never said anything to anyone and he just stared into space a lot and barely ate. The buses had to travel through Marie's hometown, so when they got there Kate ran to her old apartment. No answer. When they passed through Kate's city, they visited her agent's house, and Marie wasnt there. They had no clue where she was! Kate even tried calling her family but she wasnt with any of them. Patrick never said anything about the whole thing.
Meanwhile Marie was enjoying her vacation in the Caymen Islands. She had decided she would take her job back after clearing her head. She had enough money for a nice month long vacation anyways. She just left her cellphone on the tour bus (Michael found it two days later) and she just rested and though a lot about the whole situation. The day after the final show Marie still hadn't contacted them. She didnt want to because she still didn't know what she felt about Patrick. Kate and Josh meanwhile didnt hold their wedding off any further, and got married a week before Patrick's birthday. And yes, they went to honeymoon in the Caymen Islands. Kate had been reluctant to get married, she wanted Marie to be there, and she wanted Patrick to smile, he refused to come. He said it hurt to much. Patrick had become a literal shut in. He just stayed in his room in Lou's house. He was really depressed, he'd even started taking prozac. Kate promised she would find Marie and talk to her, Patrick didnt believe it of course! On the 3rd night of Kate and Josh's honeymoon they were on the beach just enjoying the scenery and sunbathing (okay that was Kate, Josh was having a blast running in the waves .) Thats when Kate heard someone set up chair not to far away from her. Marie loved sunbathing, it took her mind off Patrick. After the person sat their chair and such up, Josh came running over to Kate and gave her a hug. She'd been sitting in the hot sun for an hour and had her eyes closed and this was a bit of a shock! "Josh AHHHHHHH dont." Kate said as she jumped up and pushed him off, he just laughed.
"I'll divorce you if you ever do that again!" Kate said annoyed.
"No you wont you love me." Josh said as he gave her a kiss. Just then Kate noticed the girl not to far away.
"Marie?" She asked as she lifted up her sunglasses. Marie was found!

Marie looked over where the voice was coming from. “Kate?” Marie said looking over in the direction. “OMG! Marie! What, why? Where have you been?” “Kate! OMG! How are you? Marie asked as she hugged Kate. What are you doing here?” Marie asked. “Im on my honeymoon! I got married! What are you doing here?” Kate asked puzzling. “I needed a vacation. I couldn’t stay any longer. I had to get away. Im sorry.” Marie said in a sad tone. “Are you going to come back? Or what?” Kate asked her. “I want to, but Im not sure if I can see Patrick. I mean, all we do is fight, and like I told him. I know that fight won’t be our last, and it scares me. I love Patrick very much, but he needs to trust me, and trust my decisions. I love him so very much. But the thought of us fighting, scares me, and I am not sure if I can handle that.” Marie said with tears in her eyes. “Marie, a relationship is based on trust, love, understanding, commitment, and honesty. You and Patrick have all those qualities, you two just need to use them more, and have more faith in one another.” Kate said hugging her. “Yes, you are right, but I am not sure if we are ready for marriage, and all the responsibilities that come with it. I want to marry Patrick, but we are just not ready!” Marie said crying. “Well, will you please come back home with J and I, and work with me again. And as time goes on, you and Patrick can put things back together.” Kate said looking at Marie. “Ok, but I am not promising any reconciliation right away. Patrick and I need to talk, and just stay engaged for a while before we can think of marriage. He and I need to get to know each other a lot more then we do. He and I need to have a long talk about everything.” Marie said as she collected her things. “I agree. Let’s get back to the room, call Lou, tell him you are back, and may I call Patrick and tell him? He is a mess. Marie, he needs to know you are ok, and safe.” Kate said getting her things, and getting J to come with them. “Ok, you can tell Patrick, but Im not talking to him till I get home.” Marie said sternly. “Ok, it is a deal.
When they all got back to the room, Kate called Lou, and told him. Then she called Patrick and told him she found Marie, and she is coming back, but things were gonna be much different. Patrick was glad to hear Marie was safe and well. It took a load off for him knowing she was ok, but he was still worried about the relationship, and how things were gonna be when she got back. “What does she want different?” Patrick asked over the phone. “She wants to just work right now, get to know you better, and keep the relationship simple. She doesn’t want you and her together 24/7, and she wants to get to know you more. She wants you to get to know her as well. I can’t say anymore Patrick. She will be home with us tomorrow, and if she wants to talk to you then, she will. But I wouldn’t hold your breath. I gotta go. I will talk to you soon. Bye bye.” Kate said as she hung up. “Well? What did he say?” Marie asked concerned. “I told him what you told me, and he sounded relief you were ok, and safe, but he wonders where the relationship is going to go.” Kate replied. “Ok, thank you. But Kate, I really miss him, and I want him back, but Im afraid of what the future is gonna hold.” Marie said in a sad tone. “Well don’t worry. I know he wants you back, but make sure you two take things slower, and get to know one another better this time.” Kate said as she went to get dressed. Marie then went back to her hotel room to get dressed, and just lay down for a while. She wanted to think about things, and how she was gonna handle Patrick and all in a couple days.
After an hour or so, Marie just couldn't take it anymore. She had to call Patrick and talk to him. “Hello?” Patrick said as he answered. “Patrick? This is Marie. How are you?” “OMG! Marie, Ive missed you so much! Are you ok? What happened? Why did you leave?” Patrick said with a sigh of relief to here her voice. "Patrick listen. Im very sorry. I love you so much. I never met to hurt you. I just needed some time to myself to think, and to just think about everything that has happened. I know you are probably mad, and you have every right to be. I just needed some time to myself.” Marie said as tears were pouring down her face. “Oh baby! Please don’t cry. Im not mad at all. I just didn’t understand why you left. But I do now. I was taking things way to fast. I was afraid of loosing you again, and I didn’t want that to happen.” Patrick said. “Patrick, you aren’t gonna loose me. We just need to take things slower, get to know one another better, and we just need to take it slow. That is all. It wasn’t just you at all either. I was moving to fast for myself, and I didn’t want to loose you either. Patrick I just wanted to call, and let you know Im ok. I will be home soon, and we can talk more.” Marie said still sobbing some. “Marie, I love you, and we can take all the time we need. Please, just come home soon. I miss you.” Patrick said starting to cry himself. “I’ll be home tomorrow, and we will talk in the next day or so. Don’t worry. I love you, and I will see you soon. Love you. The next day Kate, Marie, and J all got their things read to go home. As Marie was getting her things Kate came in her room. “Hi. You ok?” Kate asked as she walked in the door. “Yea, Im ok. I was just getting my things together, and my thoughts together as well. I really am not sure how this is all gonna turn out. I want Patrick back, but I don’t want the same mistake to happen again. I want he and I to be able to communicate, and just make things different. Kate, every time we fight, or fuss, you know what happens? You make up by sleeping together! And if you ask me, that isn’t right! We don’t ever really talk about the situation, or whatever. He acts like things will do better after, you know.” Marie said getting all her stuff in the bag. “Well, you and he need to talk, and you need to tell him how you feel. Tell him that the relationship won’t work on just sleeping together. Tell him you want a communicative, and honest, open relationship. Marie, you need to be open with him, to have him open and honest with you. You need to talk to him, and tell him. He can’t read your mind!” Kate said as she helped Marie pack. “I called him last night, and your right.” Marie said packing her back. “You what? Why?” Kate said puzzlingly. “I had to! I needed to hear his voice, and make sure he was ok, and he knew I still loved him. I also wanted to make sure he still loved me, and yea.” Marie said as tears started to flow. “Well I am sure he knew that! And I know he loves you! You idiot! You didn’t need to do that! You should have waited till later. Marie, if you want Patrick to know where you stand and how you feel about things…. For God sakes don’t call him and tell him you miss him, and love him. You need to let him tell you that, and make sure he understand everything.” As Marie started to cry, she said. “He understood. I explained some of the things to him. He understands, and he missed me, He said he understood, and we can take as long as we need. He was so sweet. I really felt bad for what I did. I told him I should have stayed and just explained things instead of leaving.” Marie said as she zipped up her bag. “Well if you ask me. Don’t act like the guilty one. When you see him, just act like you two just met. Keep it plain and simple. Don’t get all teary eyed and go kissing on him and all. You and he need to start from square one, and work your way up. Don’t act like you two are married, and well, like teenagers. Cause YOU do!” Kate said as she helped Marie carry her things to the car. “Ok. I understand. I think I might just give it a day or so before I head back to the studio again. Is that ok?” Marie asked Kate. “Yes. I think it is a good idea.” Kate said as she, Marie and J got in the car and left for the airport.

After Marie called Patrick just kinda laid their and thought about everything. He really loved her, a lot...but he wasnt going to be in the mood to talk anytime soon. He just got up and went to get something to eat in the kitchen. Lou was there sitting at the table binging on a whole liter of moutain dew, and about 4 burgers from burger king. Patrick went to the fridge and Lou said,
"Whoa you look like hell? Whats wrong?"
"Oh me and Marie just broke up....shes coming back soon though." Patrick said as he searched through the junk food filled fridge trying to find something that WOULDNT clog his heart.
Lou near choked on his burger and said, "What!?? Well I guess she shouldnt work for Kate anymore. I was gonna tell you your incharge of producing Kate's CD."
"Thanks Lou but I'll pass, I'm not really up for work lately." Patrick said as he made a turkey sandwhich and sat across Lou at the table.
"C'mon Pat your her best friend and you two make good music together. I promise Marie wont be there. Could be good for ya." Lou said coxingly.
Patrick sighed and took a bite of his sandwhich and thought a second, "Fine I'll do it. I really dont want to see Marie anyways. She really hurt me and I know she didnt mean to... I mean we were engaged and then she just runs off after one damn fight! She's so senstive....I cant handle her." Patrick complained.
"Well girls arent good for commitment usuallly....like when I tried to date Shakira..." Lou started and Patrick interuptted sarcastically, "Lou...you were stalking her, she got a restraining order against you!"
"Whatever, anyways the point is Marie's not the type for you...maybe you should just look for someone else." Lou said pretending he hadnt heard that last part.
"Maybe your right... I'll have Michael take me out to a club on Saturday (2 days away)." Patrick said as he got up and put his dish away, and went and called Michael. Michael thought it was sad they had broke up, but he was for it.
Patrick got showered and dressed up. Marie had came home on Friday but she didnt contact Patrick because she was still trying to figure out what she wanted. That Saturday night as Lou was watching TV while eating a bucket of KFC Patrick came home about 3AM.
"Where you been all night?" Lou said as he finished the half of his second bucket.
"Oh Lou I met the most wonderful lady tonight! She's beautiful and she's sweet. We're going out tomorrow night, and then on Monday I'll work on Kate's album thats what you have scheduled right?"
"Yeah sure." Lou said as he took a bite of a chicken leg.
"Oh thanks Lou!"
Patrick went to his room and showered off. The girl he had met was named Linda. She was a year younger then him and an aspiring singer who'd just gotten signed to Jive records. She was blonde and good looking. Patrick had been reluctant at first, but then he learned she had known Kate and they had been friends, so he talked with her and found they had a lot in common. Michael was pleased to see Patrick smile.
On Sunday Patrick left to meet Linda at a posh restraunt for lunch. They talked and talked and Patrick was begining to think he didnt need Marie. They even kissed goodbye and agreed she would come meet him at the studio tomorrow and see Kate for the first time in a few years.
Marie had called while Patrick was out. Lou just said he wasnt there. Marie just thought he didnt want to talk to her so she just stayed home and watched TV.
Kate and Josh came home and she was crying as she watched a romantic comedy.
"Whats wrong?" Kate asked as she put the grocery sacks down.
"Patrick doesnt want to talk to me." Marie said as she wiped her tears away.
"Oh I'm sure he does....you'll see him tomorrow if you come work with me." Kate said as she helped Josh with the bags he'd brought in.
"Okay I'll come."
The next day Kate and Marie got up about noon and went to the studio. When they got there Lou was there.
"Whoa what are you doing?" Lou asked as he stopped them from crossing into the studio area.
Marie and Kate just looked confused and Kate said,
"We're here to work with Patrick on my CD."
"Well I'm sorry I completly forgot, Marie your fired." Lou said remebering what he'd promised Patrick.
They both looked shocked and Kate said defiantly, "WELL WHY THE HELL IS SHE FIRED!?!?"
"Because her and Patrick broke up, and their relationship is in the way of work." Lou said matter of factly.
Marie tried not to cry as Kate said, "Well fine I'm leaving too!"
"You cant I own you! Get in there or I'll send you to Japan and Josh to Germany for 8 months!" Lou said angrily.
Kate just looked upset and turned to Marie, "I'm sorry, I'll talk to him and bring him home okay?" Marie just said shakily,
"Okay. Its not your fault....bye." and she went to leave but right as she turned to the door she seen Patrick get out of his car (he was late) and Linda get out of the passenger side, and they kissed before entering! Kate and Marie's eyes got huge and Marie burst out crying and went out the other exit before Patrick came in. When he came in Linda said excitdely, "Hi Kate I haven't seen you FOREVER! How are ya?"
Kate just looked stunned at them and said, "Patrick you HAVE a girlfriend!" Patrick looked a lil confused and then said,
"yeah he name is Linda and shes beautiful." He said with a light laugh as he kissed Linda's cheek. Kate's mouth dropped,
"You DUMBASS! You and Marie are dating!"
Linda looked at patrick like 'is this true?' and Patrick said,
"No I'm not, she broke up with me, I have it in writing remember?" Patrick said a little confused.
"She loves you Patrick she wanted to get back with you!" Kate said shocked.
"Well she didnt love me enough otherwise she wouldnt have broke my heart like that...." Patrick said still kinda hurt. Linda hugged him trying to make him feel better. The 3 went in and recorded and when they were all about to leave Kate's cell phone rang.
"Hey Kate hows it going? Did you talk to Patrick yet?" Marie asked exictdly. Kate had forgot after she got over her intial shock.
"Ummm Marie I'll talk to you when I get home okay? I gotta go bye bye." Kate said as she hung up.
Patrick and Linda left and that night Linda stayed with him (they didnt have sex they just cuddled.) Patrick was sure he'd found the one he would stay with his whole life.
Meanwhile Kate drove home and walked in the door to Marie and Josh laughing as they watched Scary Movie 2.
"Marie....?"
"Oh hi Kate!"
"Marie...we gotta talk..." Kate said as she walked in.
