I have contacted Walmart and have confirmed that they would be able to sell us the CD at midnight. I will just need to call them ahead of time to make sure they are prepared. With that in mind, I went ahead and reserved a room for our party on Monday night, October 13th at the SteepleGate Inn in Davenport. You are all probably familiar with the SteepleGate Inn, but if not, it is a Best Western motel which has a restaurant, meeting rooms and lounge area. I told the person I talked to about the party we are planning and that we would need a meeting room for about 20 people. I also said that we would probably be doing some advertising and that our numbers could increase.
As of now, we have the room from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. We would all be ordering dinner off the menu with separate checks. She said if we have 20 people ordering off the menu there would be no charge for the meeting room. They have a big screen TV and a VCR we can use. The meeting room does not have cable connection, so we can only watch videos. So, we could watch some of Clay's American Idol performances and some of the concert tour videos. I am sure we could think of a few other fun activities. After 10:00 we could all go over to the lounge area and hopefully watch Clay's performance on Leno together. The lounge has a large screen TV and at least one other TV. Of course, on a Monday night I am sure people in this lounge will be there to watch Monday Night Football, although someone I talked to at the lounge said Monday's are not usually that crowded. The lady I talked about the meeting room said she would speak to the manager of the lounge to find out if he would allow us to use the smaller TV to watch Leno. And, if the game gets over soon enough we could probably ask them to let us watch Leno on the big screen. I think Jay's musical guests usually perform towards the end of his show and hopefully the football game will be over by the time Clay sings. After Leno we could all head over to Walmart to purchase our CD's.
Please respond back to me to let me know if these plans are agreeable with all of you. Right now I am counting approximately 18 people including you and those you said you would be bringing. Hopefully we can get a few more to come. There is supposed to be some kind of press release to radio stations. So, if by some chance we do get responses from other Quad Citians, we can adjust our plans as we go.
If you have any ideas about party activities or decorations, let me know. I do have some ideas of my own, but we could combine them. I will try to print off some flyers, so if you can think of good places to pass them out or leave them, let me know that as well.

Hey Michelle, I think that sounds like alot of fun! I would definitely like to go. You guys could meet me at Augie, and then we could drive from here. That way you could see my room and stuff too.

When I got back on saturday, i had just missed clay's performance. I was really sad, until today I found a video of the performance on a website! It was so cute...I had only seen one performance of his previously. He seems so different from other performers...he doesn't really put on a show, or try to show off, or add a ton of embellishments to his singing. he really just seems to be kind of a geeky guy who really loves to sing and has a great voice, and I love it!

Wow. I already had this picture but it was really small. This actually sits on the line between cute and hot. Normally Clay is only cute. I hope this is not a real RCA poster going to stores though, as they spelled "featuring" wrong.
