Comedy Central's top 100 Stand ups...
Well 100 is too much to predict, so anyone wanna make some predictions on say top 10?

I think Richard Prior will take first. Can't think of anyone CC would put before him. I think Seinfield will be somewhere in the top 10.

I can't really think of any others that would go in top 10 of the best 100 of all time. I could easily get a top 10 list of who my favorite SUCs are.. but I know they won't get in the top 10, most probably won't even get on the 100 best list for CC.

So any guesses?

I neither know nor care who they pick, but my choice for #1 would be Robin Williams.

Closse behind would be Denis Leary, Dennis Miller, and George Carlin.

Groucho Marx will be in the top 10.
Richard Pryor SHOULD be #1, though he may get nudged out.

Other than that, god...there are so many good comedians over the years. Andy Griffith, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Lenny Bruce, Sam Kinnison, Andrew Dice Clay, Lewis Black, Steven Wright, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, Steve Martin, George Carlin.

So long as Gallagher and Carrottop are snubbed, I'll be happy. :)

My tops:

1. Dennis Miller
2. Eddie Izzard
3. Robin Williams
4. Mitch Hedburg
5. Denis Leary

---

As for the show, I would imagine they'd have Bill Cosby somewhere near the top as well. Seinfeld, Carlin and Cosby would be who I would guess for the top three.

Doesn't 100 seem a little excessive? I doubt anyone could name 50 off the top of their head, let alone 100. But my 5 top would be:

1. Bill Cosby
2. Robin Williams
3. Steve Martin
4. Will Ferrell
5. George Carlin

There are others that have had me rolling such as Tony Woods, but I don't think he would get top 5 just for the fact that he isn't well known.

You know they will put Chris Rock up there somewhere even though he doesn't belong.

Andrew Dice Clay? Jebus man, that guy is awful. He was successful b/c he had some clever rymes, but his shtik got so old, so fast, and he had nothing else. The people who deserve to be top 25 are ones who've showed they are creative, and able to think on their feet. The top 25 will also be intelligent comics.

I'd put Whoopi above Dice, and I think Whoopi is horrible. She's intelligent, but I'm not sure I've ever laughed at her standup.

Where did robin williams perform that show at that small club where he was dressed kinda mork-and-mindy'ish? It was back around that time and he was just off the walls. Best standup I've ever seen hands down.

There are several female comedians being missed, but I can't think of them ... Lily Tomlin? One or two on Sat. Night Live I can't think of. One with really dry humor and an annoying voice ... maybe another would be Paula Poundstone ... hmmm

I don't think Groucho Marx or Charlie Chaplin qualify as stand-up comedians. They are comedic actors.

I'm surprised I haven't seen Jeff Foxworthy in here yet. Either him or some other "redneck" comedians.
