Re: Corrie Todd gay plot helps young guys with sexuality
Yeah, I thought it was very helpful, too. Let me just recap:
He is gay, so he
- falls for an undoubtably handsome but rather shallow and egoistic guy
- causes immense grief to his nearest and dearest, leading to miscarriage and death of his child
- gets treated like an outcast by his whole social circle (i.e. street)
- ends up being disowned by his own brother and isn't allowed at the funeral of his child
To be honest, I know being gay isn't exactly a picnic, but this has to be the gloomiest and most negative storyline I have seen for quite some time. All that I am waiting for now is for Todd to crown the whole thing off by topping himself.
Re: Corrie Todd gay plot helps young guys with sexuality
Well you certainly lived up to your name, Braindead!
The storyline is great if it helps other guys come to terms with their sexuality and/or come out. The thing is with this storyline is that he was having an affair. Even if it was with a woman, it'd still cause a rift! Jason will come around later, he's just coming to terms with it. All this storyline is doing is portraying homosexuality in a realistic way - it's not always plain sailing for gay men, so why should it be for Todd? Life's a bitch, etc.
