We have added a few things to the requirements to power and ability upgrades. Be sure and read the details in the most recent update when you request a new power / upgrade.
Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

Appearance: Strangely athletic build for such a lazy person, David is in good shape, despite how little he seems to do. Dressed in tie-died button up shirts, left undone and over a plain white t-shirt, and tattered jeans or khakis, with a pair of blue-tinted glasses sitting low on his nose, David is keeping the spirit of the hippie alive in his appearance. His hair is usually in a clean, though unkempt, state, sitting at ear length when it is combed, otherwise varying in how long it may seem. His more “formal” wear consists of a solid-colour or pin-striped shirt and clean, undamaged khakis, with his glasses either in the correct position or not seen at all.
Personality: More likely to sleep through class than write a test, David is easy going to the point of sheer laziness when it comes to work and school related areas, though he takes a much more moderated view on life. Open-minded and outgoing, he tries to make friends with everyone he meets, though his laid back lifestyle and occasional sarcastic remarks tend to start conflicts with more serious minded people. Not one to hold a grudge, but always ready to stand up for his beliefs and those of his friends, he would fight only if provoked to, and even then only if it couldn’t be avoided.
Special Powers:
Jack in
Some people possess other people. Some possess animals. David Possesses machines. So long as they are powered electrically, and he can touch it, he can move his body into the machine itself and control it from the inside, seeing what it sees, controlling where it goes, what it displays, turn it on and off, any control he wants. However, while inside the machine, it attempts to use him as part of its power source, draining him of energy the longer he remains inside of one. The rate of the drain is proportional to the energy needs of the machine. For example, a simple MP3 Player that runs off a small battery, no moving parts, would allow him to reside inside of it for hours, while something as demanding as a televevision or computer, would limit that window to a few minutes, no more than four or five, depending on the type of equipment used inside. Given enough time, however, both would drain him equally, and spending too much time beyond the safe window of control could kill him.
Power-line
The ability to move anywhere within a city blocks power line. While not as taxing on the energy needs as it is to jack-in to a device, he still looses power during the transit. The transition itself is very risky, since bad wiring, sudden termination of the line (Ex. A tree falling) or a short at the destination can have very serious complications. To complete the transit, he must be near a power outlet to begin the transmission, and have the exit-outlet unblocked. He would also need the path to take know ahead of time, least he end up at the wrong outlet with no idea how to get back the way he came. The maximum speed of the transition is based on the wire, and cannot change his speed willingly while in transit.
History: The Second child of a Programmer and a accountant, David was born into a well set family. With high hopes that their son would continue in one of their footsteps when he was old enough, they pampered him with books and computer goods galore while growing up. He took a great interest in Science-fiction and fantasy themed books and games, amassing a collection of both. Never a particularly active child, he seemed to move enough to keep fit, though often his family joked that it only happened when no one was looking so he could maintain his illusion of laziness. His peaceful and lazy existence was not meant to last without mishap, though.
Late one Friday night, well after he should have been asleep, but still before dawn, half awake and glued to the computer screen, he was reading a website supposedly containing ancient rituals and incantations. While taking none of it seriously, he was never the less intrigued by the idea, spotting similarities between books, movies, and television shows he was watched, wondering if it was merely a parody page meant to look as though things of the present were predicted years before they would happen. After reading a spell that supposedly gave powers similar to “The force”, he scrolled down to the control section. The instructions given were to focus on what you wanted to control section, make contact with it, and read the sentences for control to be handed to the speaker. Half awake and with nothing to loose, he thought “Why not?” and went along with it, using the computer for ease, since it didn’t require movement at the time.
After a few practice reads in his head, sorting out the words to make sure he had it right and leaving his hands on the keyboard, the half spoke, half yawned the sentences out. Not shocked, though slightly disappointed, he mumbled out “stupid spell can’t control a electric machine, no magic in it even….”. With a Snap, crackle, and for good measure, a pop, he was standing in what looked like a cross between tron, and the website he was on. He spun around, the empty computer chair behind a massive wall of glass lay infront of him. Reaching out to touch it, he found it was solid. Panicking, he shut his eyes and wished he was back out of the machine and into his chair, back where he knew what was going on. When he opened them, he was back on his chair, feeling like he had just woken up from a nap. He quickly shut off the computer and went to bed. It was all a dream.
Three weeks passed before curiosity got the better of him. He wondered if it really had been a dream, or if it had really happened. His opportunity to test it came when he’s family went out to get his brother, Daniel, some new shirts for work. Waiting until he heard the car pull out, he sat down in front of the computer, just as he had been before, and closed his eyes, remembering the cyberworld as he had seen it before. With a feeling of a static shock, he opened his eyes, revealing the plane again before him, and the empty chair outside once more. He closed his eyes and though about leaving again, and appear in his chair. With a sigh of relief, he practiced entering and leaving the computer until he felt oddly tired and left to take a nap.
Over the next year, he learned to control the machine with his thoughts, setting up complete tasks to run before returning to the normal world and watching them run without contact to the machine. He also learned that his abilities extended beyond the computer, testing it on every device in the house, one by one. With a little effort, he could control them just as well as though he was standing there operating them himself at near super-human speeds.
Perhaps his oddest idea to test was the power outlets in his house. Finding a simple diagram of the wiring in his house, he mapped a path to the next room in his head, and sat next to one of the outlets. As he touched it, He concentrated on the plan he had in his head and moving from here to there. To his surprise, his body lit up blue and appeared in the next room by the outlet he had plotted. Perhaps the spell didn’t work as he thought, maybe it wasn’t the device he controlled, but the power behind it…
He didn’t have a chance to answer himself, for the clang of dropped keys made him whip around, his family staring at him in awe. He hadn’t heard them pull into the driveway, and now they knew. They weren’t sure what they knew, but they knew it.
After a lengthy discussion with his parents, they had agreed that he would need some kind of place where, should he want to, explore his “powers”, but never have to worry about discovery by the wrong people. Through word of mouth, they heard of the MHS School, and decided that, for the time being, until his parents sorted all the information out and what to do about it, he would attend there to control and understand what he had gained.

EXAMPLE ROLE-PLAYING POST:
The Commander’s eyes gleamed with pride as the cannons set up at the entrance to his mountain-side base repelled yet another wave of the ferocious alien swarm. Blue, pulsing plasma rained out from the fortifications into the waves as the small creatures threw themselves in vain at his defences, trying as hard as they could to drain the shields protecting them of their precious energy. With the generators recently upgraded to produce 300% stronger fields, it would be a hard task to complete. The gateways hummed as warp gates pulled warriors and fleets from the homeworld. It would only be a matter of time now before the swarm would be razed to the ground, and there was nothing they could do to stop the fury of-
“God! Stop turtleing inside your base! That’s all you ever do David!”
“Just because its an effective way to play Protoss doesn’t mean you can bad mouth it”. He grinned as his older brother and turned back to his screen. “Maybe if you used more than ‘lings and Lurkers, you would win once and awhile Daniel”. His brother rolled his eyes and turned back to his own computer, grumbling to himself as he grouped more Zerg for his next doomed rush. Yes, Soon the Swarm will fall to the fleet…Edited by: Spiffy Templar at: 5/15/06 5:03 pm

Re: David Xanatos
Hello! You may Rp, but you may not use your powers. Because they perplex me... They seem toooo powerful.. But you get points on originallity. So fix the powers, and I'll ponder them some more.

Re: David Xanatos
I limited the transit power to a city block with the route having to be known ahead of time. As for the possession one, I never intended it to be too powerful. The complexity of the machine and the power requirements of it would limit his time within. Something that required a small battery wouldn't be as taxing to control as, say, a television, which he would only be able to safely spend a few moments in before being forced to leave or risk harm to himself. I'm not sure how I would want to limit size/complexity of the machine he could control, since the same type of device could be produced at a much larger scale. I also intended that he could only control something he can touch, I noticed I left that out aswell, and I will correct that.
Re: David Xanatos
Alright, that stuff you just put in the explination to our beef, put that into your power. The thing we're most concerned about is the current time you can take over something. Put some limits in a more dry cut manner, like how long is "a few moments" for taking over a television?
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so? Well, I still say not thinking is the best way to think!" -Alex Summers, thinking about thinking
Re: David Xanatos
Already added that part Hellsinger.
As for the times, I could hammer out a rough table for reference, but like I said, its supposed to based on the power needs of the machine. Most LCD type screens use less energy then CRT, so the time spend in one of those would likely be more. However, I would say at most right now, for the really draining type machines, would be around 4-5 minutes for the safe zone. That would apply to televisions, computers, things of that nature. Over time, I would like to see that expand to greater times, but I know that when first starting, and in the interest of fair play, a power like this would have to be nerfed quite a bit.
Re: David Xanatos
As I said, put that in the description!
