Islamic Paths ezOP Posts: 51 (9/23/01 9:58 am) Reply	Defend Yourselves...Do Not Transgress Limits The Holy Qur'an tells us, "...And if God had not enabled people to defend themselves against one another, corruption would surely overwhelm the earth..." (Qur'an 2:251), and the first part repeated again in 22:40. We must defend ourselves, this is written, but we must not loose sight of the Qur'anic verse cautioning us not to transgress limits (2:190). We are also told, "Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause." (Qur'an 17:33) This includes one's own life - suicide is forbidden. All of this build a powerful case against the extreme violence we all witnessed on September 11. It's important that as Muslims we strive in Allah's cause to get His Divine message of Truth and Faith to all of mankind. This opportunity has demonstrated that our time has finally come to unite and spread the peaceful message of Allah. Your dawah is needed. Spread Allah's Divine Word.
