Description Templates (character/setting/world) As proposed, just some ideas for things you might want to include in description posts. If I've left anything out or you feel the need to break it down differently, feel free. These are just ideas to make you think about what you want to tell about the character(s). Have fun! Please do not post your descriptions in this thread! CHARACTER DESCRIPTION Name: (well, duh) Species/Race: (human? dragon? fuzzy elf?) Appearance: (things like apparent age, height, weight or build, colors, typical dress if applicable, other notable features) Important Bits: (extra "stuff" that the character possesses or partners that is important to the character, i.e., weapons, special possessions, animals, etc.) Talents/Skills: (psionic or magickal or other talents, mundane talents like drawing, playing an instrument, or animal training) Personality: (as much depth as you you like -- outside view (i.e, what others might see) to inside view (the character's own justifications for his/her/its behaviour)) Background: (the history of the character) Pictures: (please LINK to pics only .. and remember that many places, like geocities, don't allow remote linking. And easy way to circumvent this is to put the pictures inside an otherwise blank page.) SETTING DESCRIPTION Name: (if you don't know, I can't help you) Locale: ('common' or part of a described world?) Open/Mod: (can anyone play with it, or do you want to be asked before it's used?) Physical Description: (be creative!) Important NPCs: (optional; examples might be the owner of a setting describing a restaurant, or the spirits that inhabit a sacred circle in the forest) Other Info: (optional; anything not covered by the above fields, i.e., special metaphysical things relating to that sacred circle) WORLD DESCRIPTION This is the least stringent of the three: put as much info as you want/can in what ever format you like. These are just some deas as to what to include. The only thing you definitely should include is whether the world is open or modded. Name: (lalala ..) Open/Mod: (should probably be mod, but if you want to make it open, be my guest) Overview: (a broad, sweeping generalization of the world) Important Geography: (the "oooh, neat!" bits, like big rivers, high mountains, main cities ...) Dominant Cultures: (who rules what land, or doesn't? Be as specific as you like.) Magic?: (does the world have magic? how much?) Other: (anything else) -- |
