Discs rotation at 65?
What discs do you find yourself using the most? Raid and exp groups.

Thanks

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
Let's see... Raid...

At 99% (when assist is called), I hit Assassin Strike. At 80% of mobs health, I hit duelist or twisted chance... it depends on what my hit ratio is on the mob on which one I use. At 40%, I hit dead eye.

In group, I use Blinding Speed in place of deadeye, just because it impresses this particuliar guildy that likes to parse me. When he starts seeing me kick into overdrive, he is simply stunned.

Kinestethics and Deadly Precision and now Assassin's Strike on xp groups/raids, Duelist/Deadeye(wtf, I can't find blinding speed or whatever, I slack.) on the actual raid target. That way, I can use the lower discs often, and keep the good stuff for later =p

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
on Boss mob, Duelist at 70%, Dead Eye around 30%.

Exp situations Duelist whenever it pops.
Deadeye whenever it pops.

Assassins strike.. well whenever I feel like it.

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
Well, it changed just recently.

Prior to Assassin's Strike I was an occasional DP user in exp groups but it was very environmentally dependant.

In LDoNs (easy) I'd Duelist the first time we had a few Mobs in camp, which was generally right off the bat. We don't CC much for those so I'd get a reasonable uptime for the disc. Then I'd DP once or twice and Deadeye when I felt Duelist would refresh, if the adventure was likely to last that long. For exp grinding elsewhere (for me that means mostly tactics or BoT and the like) it was save Duelist for something interesting and pop DP pretty regularily.

In raids I lived by Duelist at first target contact, Deadeye ASAP afterwards and Nimble for the Enrage portion where applicable. For some fights where percentage health of the target matters or when specific portions of the encounter represent greater danger, I'd try to adjust what burst damage we have to suit this. There were a few odd encounters where I would use Fearless or even Resistant initially but that changed little. Against Rydda for example there is no problem chaining Fearless - Duelist - Deadeye - Nimble should the target last that long.

Now, things do change a little. While I still like the idea of Nimble for enrage, I can live without it but really don't have to. So, for recent raid targets it is AS opener, Duelist follows, Deadeye as appropriate and Nimble for enrage if I haven't needed to burn it earlier. There are still those very rare encounters where I burn Nimble/Counterattack on an Escape pull (playing psuedo-ranja mostly) or the like but by and large, that's still the staple with a freebee backstab at the beginning.

For exp groups now I am frankly still evaluating. My last parse is leading me to think that a slow burn of AS is quite possibly going to be better than using Duelist or Deadeye in the end though for trivial encounters like regular LDoNs and even quite possibly for grinding exp under most situations or in LDoN hards. At least I am encouraged that the changes on test might indeed make it so. The slant on my BS damage parses very noticeably and burst damage is really rarely a need and is even more rarely unavailable using AS (I tend to space it so only the very end of an adventure would leave me without Nimble/Duelist should I really want them).

I don't use Twisted Chance at all and still consider Kinesthetics and Blinding Speed to be complete wastes of text. Once in a blue moon I pop TC on an exp crawl when someone is annoying me about crits but it is certainly not something I use for increased damage over Duelist.

IF your 100% sure the mob is going down then dont forget going Nimble at ENRAGE... 12 seconds lasts through most enrages and allows you to keep applying DPS even if mob turns.

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
Suprised with the discs being out as long as they have been.. that there isnt a "generally best DPS" routine outlined yet? /shrug

This is what I'm doing currently: (no idea best practice or not)

Exp situation: I cycle from DeadEye (the 5 min repop?) and Kinestics (the other 5 min repop?) from mob to mob. I save either Duelist or Blinding Speed (both 20 some min repops) for over-pulls and what not. ie DeadEye/Kinestics on norm exp crawl, and whichever is available of Duelist/Blinding Speed during "burst need" scenarios.

Raid: I pop DeadEye (the 5min refresh?) early and Duelist when mob is at 50%, then if fight is long enough I pop Blinding Speed when DeadEye pops and "opens" the timer.

No idea, if that's a decent strat or not.. just what I've been doing thus far.. /shrug

Oops I think the 5min repop disc I'm referring to is not DeadEye but Deadly Prescision.

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
My use during raids is entirely mob dependent. High AC mobs that I'm noticing a decrease in my hit % I lead off with Duelist then use Deadeye somewhere between 30 and 50% depending on the mob HP's. With a 'low' AC mob, where I notice a high % of hit I lead off with Deadeye and then use Duelist somewhere around the same percentages above.

I found that early on that if the raid is up against a high AC mob and that if I lead off with deadeye I run the risk of taking agro from the tank. So while the preference is to burn the mob down quickly, sometimes it's better to allow the MT more time to proc a few more times to ensure agro. On the flip side tho, with mobs that everyone can hit, burn it down!

I gave up on DP; it's boring.

I use Duellist/Deadeye on raids and xp both. I tend to use deadeye on the very first pull of an xp group and save duellist for the first pull of 2+ mobs so I have a better chance of using the whole disc.

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
I think DP is dead now really. Even in exping environments, anyone with a decent END pool would be better using AS (or KS etc) early and Deadeye when most profitable, with Duelist/Nimble semi-reserved if there was potential for danger.

Most High-risk LDoNs I run AS first mob, Deadeye first multiple and Duelist first time I see anything remotely threatening. Depending on who I am with, I might save Duelist for that "bad" situtation but generally I want it out early for the refresh. ASs are just filler really but with the occasional Deadeye, they are better filler than DPs.

no one use Weapon Affinity Discipline on timer 4?! for exemple at 30 or 20% of mob life to avoid aggro

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
Some people use deadeye instead of DP
i would like to know why

coz if i do the math DP > deadeye

for exemple :
* say i do 100dps, my BS would do 40% of this DPS
* say i miss 1/3 of the time that means the effect of these disc(10000% more hit chance) would increase by 50% the DPS
* say each hour i can fire about 10 times DP and only 3 times deadeye

DP would offer : 10 times per h x 30 sec of disc x 40 dps from BS x 50% dps increase = 10 x 30 x 40 x 0.5= 6k per hour of fight
deadeye would offer: 3 times per h x 30 sec of disc x 100 total dps x 50% dps increase = 4.5k per hour of fight

Timer 4 has Fearless, Resistant, Focused Will and Healing Will. Weapon Affinity didn't go live, at least on the English servers.

What's its refresh rate like? When I first heard about it, I was looking forward to popping it whenever I had to swap primal in.

here's why people use deadeye

most boss mob fights are fairly quick

the damage from 1 deadeye > 2 DP

and since you generally won't get a 3rd DP, deadeye is better

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
ok Tikk you are right

On the french server(Sebilis) the assassin's strike is bugged, it never fade when we hit BS and it does not need to be invis to use it so i never use any other disc(it's like a permanent duelist)

i hit assassin's strike as soon as it fade, i allows me to make lots of 2k + BS and of course they never miss :)
for only 12% of my endurance pool :p

my dps has come from 150dps to 400+ constant DPS in raids :)
when it will be repaired i think i will use deadeye instead of DP on raids, you are right

Re: Discs rotation at 65?
Best Form?:

Exp - Assassin Strike and alternate Kinestics and Deadly Presicion every 5 minutes, keeping Duelest or Dead Eye available for crunch times.

Raid - Assassin Strike, Duelest, and Dead Eye

---?

also Dead Eye just much better than Blinding Speed? Isnt Blinding Speed a much higher level disc??

What are you smoking?

Deadeye is:
Slot 1: Increase Chance to Hit by 10000%
Duration: 5 ticks
Re-use: 20 minutes

Deadly Precision is:
Slot 1: Increase Chance to Hit by 10000%
Duration: 5 ticks
Re-use: 5 minutes

...unless there's some other DP to which you are referring?

DP is teh win. I pop it and duelist or twisted chance (whatever strikes my fancy...missed BS's on duelist blow tho) whenever they refresh in exp groups. Obviously save them for boss mob inc on raids and chain them.

DP is definitely much better than Kinesthetics, especially if you have ferocity and ambidexterity.
