We have added a few things to the requirements to power and ability upgrades. Be sure and read the details in the most recent update when you request a new power / upgrade.
Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.

Ease after pain.
Rafael had had a pretty rough day. He had spent a lot of the time training both his powers and his body. After a hard day's work he made his way to the hotsprings. Now he was relaxing near the edge letting the hot water ease his pain. "Now this is what I'm talkin' about." He was enjoying the peaceful sound of moving water.

It had been a long night; a difficult night. The forest was supposed to be safe, there wasn't any reason why being out there should be a problem. Yet, as Knives had found out the night before, that was untrue...at least, in this situation. After hours of training, he'd been attacked by a monster...and not just any monster, but a dragon! They were not supposed to be around here; besides, a dragon like that (who did not have the ability to become human like Kaori could) couldn't live in a forest, it would stand out! It just didn't make sense.
So, after a night's sleep (he'd gone to bed late after the battle, and woke up late today, so it was more like mid-day now...), Knives had decided to come and try to understand what was going on. And there were only two good places to think in this school: one, of course was the library, the other being the hot springs. And Knives was not a library sort of person. So, he chose the second option.
The door swung open, and the dog boy stepped through. He was clothed in his blue swim shorts, with a towel draped over his shoulders for when he got out of the water. As he entered the room, he looked around to see if anyone was here: before, there had been a young girl to spend time with. This time, it was another guy. The German Sheppard ears on Knives's head drooped a bit that there was only a guy in there; but any company was better than none, so he shrugged.
He walked over towards the water, and stepped in, sitting down across from Rafael and sinking in until all that was dry was from his shoulders upwards. "Yeah, that's good after taking a beating last night..." He sighed. Then, he looked over in the other student's direction. "Hey, looks like we had the same idea, huh? Name's Knives, nice to meet you."
(ooc: I have no idea which thread comes first, so I'm just gonna conclude that maybe this one will, I guess....)

The first thing Rafael thought when his eyes landed on the newcomer was 'Another dog-bog?!' But instead of being rude and not responding to this guy's greeting he responded in the proper way, well, as proper as Rafael could get anymore. "Knives huh? Thats a cool name. My names Rafael, I've been called Raf too. Nice to meet you!" Rafael said waving at Knives.
There, he had greeted him properly and now he had to get the question off his chest. "So tell me, can you transform into a dog too? 'Cuz I thought only my family could do that!" Rafael said standing up and showing knives the dog tail that was sticking out of his shorts. He had had it for a while and it would most likely disappear before he left.

After he'd drawn attention to himself, Knives watched the other boy's reaction. For some reason, Rafael seemed overly surprised at Knives's...."differences." Yet the dog boy could not understand why, since it seemed everyone around this school had something strange about them. As Knives's deep blue eyes looked over Rafael a few times, he couldn't see anything special about him; but before he could try to sniff the air to check for real, the other guy responded to his question.
"Yeah, Knives is a bit different for most," He let out a small laugh, "but it's not for my dad's race...it was actually my great-grandpa's name too, I was told."
"So tell me, can you transform into a dog too? 'Cuz I thought only my family could do that!" Knives laughed a little. At first, the last part of the sentence didn't register in his mind. All he thought about was answering the question. "Nahhh, I can't turn into a dog..." Then, he blinked. "Wait, you can?"
He looked in surprise as Rafael stood up, revealing the furry tail. Then, he laughed again, "So you're a dog too? When you're a dog, are you...like, a real dog, or like....a giant, wolf-like dog?" He shrugged. "Cause the rest of my pack can transform, but I can't cause I'm only half...."
Rafael didn't look like the rest of his pack...they seemed more like dogs than even Knives when in their human form....and this other boy only had a tail. But, Knives was hoping to meet another from his race....and it was possible that this other guy might just be like him!

"Indoor hot springs? Interesting"
Standing behind the door Dango was busy fully investigating the letter etched sign. Delicate fingers rested on both slim hips, her foot tapping the floor as she seemed enticed by it. That was until the smell of earth salts mixed with wet dog came to her senses, causing her face to turn a sour expression.
"Gods! What's with the stench? It smells like wet dog in there!"
"Yeah, that's good after taking a beating last night..."
Suddenly she forgot about the stench once she heard those words. A battle? And she missed it? She was already failing in her job.
"Darn, dad will be so disappointed, oh well"
With a shrug a smile came on her face as the two exchanged words. She might of lost alot of potential data, but that didn't mean she couldn't get information.
"So you're a dog too? When you're a dog, are you...like, a real dog, or like....a giant, wolf-like dog? Cause the rest of my pack can transform, but I can't cause I'm only half...."
What was that? Half breeds? Dango had read about them in the confidental 'paranormal' archives, but she never actually came to face with one. This was definately in her interest, it was time to become 'one of the pack'.
The door opened, and she stepped into the springs. Sure enough the two 'half breeds' were sitting together, most likely in the midsts of conversation.
With a smile, she tucked a strand of loose black hair behind her ear and politely bowed to the two.
"I apologize for my intrusion, but would you two gentlemen mind some company?"

Sounds were coming from behind the door; someone was there. Aside from the noise, he could also smell the scent of a human. A smirk came to his mouth, but he didn't acknowledge the other person yet; he'd simply wait for her to come into the spring. Until then, he continued to go about his conversation with Rafael, not worrying about whether the girl could hear him or not - it wasn't like they were talking about anything private. Knives probably didn't have anything private to talk about anyways.
The door opened, creaking as it did so. One of the dog ears atop Knives's head twitched, and he tilted his head back, resting it upon the side of the spring as he did so. This way, he could look up, and get a good view of the girl. When he laid eyes on her, he smirked a bit; but, as he was straining his eyes to look in that position, he had to twist around sideways on the spring's seat, so that he could look at her normally.
"I apologize for my intrusion, but would you two gentlemen mind some company?" Knives laughed a little, and then gave her a shrug. Intrusion? Knives had only just met this guy, there was nothing important going on here. It wasn't as if there was an important meeting going on or anything.....
"Naahhhh, I don't mind. In fact, I was wondering if any hot girls were gonna come anyways..." He gave her a big smile.

Rafael had gotten so excited when Knives had asked if he could transform he didn't pay attention to the rest. "Can I transform? YEAH!" He said as he went into his husky form. He barked quickly and reverted to his human form, only when he reverted, dog ears sprouted on top of his head and his hair grew rapidly, turning black in the process.
As he slipped his shorts back on he spoke again. "The only downside is I lose my clothes." He said letting out a laugh. His new dog ears perked up at the sound of the newcomer.
She was hot to Rafael and he couldn't help the words that had escaped his mouth. "Well hellooooo gorgeous!" He said, his tail wagging underneath the water furiously. "What he said!" He finished pointing to Knives in response to her question.

It was unusual for Dango to actually blush, but surely enough it was creeping up from her chest to the smoothness of her cheekbones. Having spent most of her time on the sidelines, she wasn't use to being the center of attention - ever.

That was when the blush became deeper, causing her to sink her head low and her lips to muse a barely audible 'thank you'.
No, but wait. Obviously a little attention didn't hurt. It wasn't like she was going to flirt, giggle, and take one of these half breeds home with her. Slowly raising her head, she decided to play it cool and approach them.
"My name is Dango, I'm obviously new here but I guess two smart guy's like you could figure that out. Cute ears, by the way. I would rather be here with two half dogs then a pair of cat boys."
Cat boys and cat girls gave Dango the creeps, not only were they nympho maniacs, they were cats! Dango feared cats, but even more she feared kittens. And cat girls always looked like little kitties.
"I should of come more prepared, I don't have a swimsuit with me"
She took her place on the edge of the spring, slowly removing her shoes and socks so that she could place her legs in the water. A soft gasp mused from her lips as the steam rose up to her senses and her body began to naturally adjust to the temperature change.
"So, if you fellows don't mind me asking, what exactly are you?"

Rafael smirked as she blushed, it was a compliment when he was able to make someone blush. He liked her name too, he hadn't her anything like it before. After her name he sort of spaced out though, not even he knew what he was thinking about though. As he snapped back to reality he turned to Dango after her question.
"well I'm Brazillian, and my family is a family a shapeshifters." He started, eager to talk about his family. "In my family, all the boys can change into animals of all shapes and sizes!" He finished directing the topic back to her. "By the way, I'm Rafael and it's a pleasure to meet someone as beautiful as you!" He said in a charming way, offering his hand to Dango.

She sounded it out, making sure she said it right. At least the kid was flattering, she wasn't use to people fawning over her.

As Knives watched the girl's face turn red, a smile came to his face. He always though it was cute when a girl blushed; the shy ones were always cute like that. It was for that reason that he felt the urge to watch her approach, his eyes following her form until she sat nearby him, on the edge of the spring. Then, he looked up at her face, giving her a big, friendly smile, revealing his fangs.
"I should of come more prepared, I don't have a swimsuit with me" He laughed a little, and gave her a shrug. "Yeah, too bad...." Then, his ears perked up, and he smirked in her direction. After nudging her leg a little with his elbow playfully, he added, "You don't necessarily need one, though." He laughed again, to let her know that he was just joking. He didn't seriously think she should take her clothes off around people she barely knew...

Knives thought for a moment, as he tried to come up with the words. He had been told what he was, basically....but there was still a lot left unknown to him. His father, and the rest of the pack, had seemed as if they were keeping information from him. But it didn't really bother him. With a deep breath, he began explaining.
"Well, I'm....my dad was some sort of dog creature. So...that makes me half-dog creature." He shrugged. "I have no clue what my dad's race was called, though..." He looked up at her again, his ears twitching and his head tilted to the side curiously in response to what she was. "A normal human? With no powers? Uhhm....why Manga High then?"

Rafael stood up and pointed to his tail and his ears. "It happens randomly right now, sometimes I have them, sometimes I dont. My only drawback." He said sitting fully in the water.
Rafael simply closed his eyes and listened for a while. It was Knives question that caused him to open his eyes again. He turned towards Dango and asked "Yeah, why manga high. We're all a bunch of freaks!" He said in a joking manner.

That was the question Dango was worried about, but it was bound to come up some time. With a sigh she casually dragged her legs through the surface of the water before she smiled slightly.
"Why not?"
"Yeah, why manga high. We're all a bunch of freaks!"
Dango couldn't help but to chuckle slighty as she looked towards Rafael.
"I wouldn't say that. You guy's are the norm around this place, if anyone in this room is a freak then I guess it would have to be me, right?"
She smiled softly, her chestnut brown eyes looked towards one of the windows.
"Out there ?(pause) you don't have to worry about what's going on out there. You should be happy with what or who you are, no matter what"

He sighed when he noticed she didn't want to pet his ears; it always felt good to have them scratched, and he was hoping she would do it when he offered. But it didn't matter that much; it was as important to talk to her, anyways. So he lifted his head to its normal position - or rather, tilted slightly, so that he could face her fully, and his eyes could rest upon her face.
"I wouldn't say that. You guy's are the norm around this place, if anyone in this room is a freak then I guess it would have to be me, right? He laughed a little. "A pretty girl like you, a freak? Noooooo...." He thought for a moment, as he studied her, his head tilting to the side curiously, just as it had before. A thoughtful, inquisitive look showed up on his face, his lips pursed as his eyes roamed over her, looking for some sort of unique difference, possibly a flaw. Yet he found none. With a shrug, he asked, "No powers or abilities at all?"
"Out there ?(pause) you don't have to worry about what's going on out there. You should be happy with what or who you are, no matter what"
Knives shrugged. He had never been worried about things like that. He was completely content with himself, and confident in himself, always. The dog boy had always been able to make friends, and had always been liked - why would there be a reason for him to worry about it? For that reason, he never tried too hard to impress others, and had always been himself...even when some of the others back home had shunned him when they found out what he was, he still didn't really mind. "Worried about out there?" He laughed. "Why would I be worried about somethin like that?"
He sighed and leaned back, so that his head rested on the edge of the spring. This way, he was facing upwards, and could turn his eyes to the side to look at Dango, still, giving her a big smile. "But I'm just curious why a normal person would wanna be at a school like this? Not to mention, its reputation is more for teaching people how to learn to use their powers...."

She looked at Knives for a moment with a slight chuckle. She was hoping the change of subject would of distracted him from his orginal question.
"Worried about out there? Why would I be worried about somethin like that?"
Apparently it had. If she could avoid it, she wouldn't have to come up with a lie. She didn't like lying, even when it was necessary.
And of course she couldn't tell him why he should worry about things 'out there'. That would just put both of them in jeopardy.

"But I'm just curious why a normal person would wanna be at a school like this? Not to mention, its reputation is more for teaching people how to learn to use their powers...."
Well that was it, she couldn't avoid the question a second time without looking suspicious.

That answer even impressed her, now hopefully he wouldn't ask her anything else she would have to 'lie' about. Even now, she had that nagging feeling in the bottom of her stomach that just wouldn't go away.

Knives blinked. This answer didn't sound at all faulty; in fact, it was a very good answer. It was able to fool the dog boy, who really believed that she didn't have powers. Yet, it did raise another issue. Someone who would want to come to learn to defend against superpowered humans must have a special reason. And as Knives thought about it, he could only think of one special reason....
"Why, do you want to be able to defeat us?" He tilted his head curiously, but he did laugh, letting her know he wasn't completely serious. When trying to read up on his own race (which was, unfortunately, a failure), the dog boy had come across some information on a group of regular humans, who were afraid of meta-humans. Apparently, this group was trying to find a way to begin a war on meta-humans, in hopes of destroying them all. Though it had no proof behind it, it still made sense. Of course, Knives didn't believe that Dango was part of this group, and didn't seem worried in the least. Her response to his question simply reminded him of what he had read.
"So, what is there to do around here? I noticed none of the classes were open yet, is there a reason the school is on hiatus?"
The dog boy shrugged. He did smile though, finding this situation ironic. In fact, it was only recently (Knives's first full day at the school) that he had asked Hitomi that same exact question - in this same exact place! But, neither of them had known the answer, and Knives still didn't. So he simply responded with, "I dunno. I tried to find out, but no one else I asked knew either...."
He thought a moment, though. Why weren't there any classes?

Dango stood up and pulled her feet and legs out of the water, reaching to put her socks and boots back on. Obviously, something was bothering her.

Thought they may not have noticed it, he had fallen asleep in the hotsprings. The soothing sensation had relaxed him so much that he was now dreaming, of what? He wouldn't remember. His slumber was disrupted when he had fallen under water.
"Wha?" He jumped up, hair drenched and water dripping off his face. "Whats goin on, where am I?" He asked, frantically looking around. Realizing where he was and remembering the events that lead up to him sleeping, he blushed. "sorry about that!" He said with a nervous laugh.
'Good why to make yourself seem like a weirdo Raf' He shook off the water and let out a yawn. "So what ya'll talking about?" He asked, taking a seat in the water yet again.
Next thing he knew Dango was leaving, "See ya around!" He said with a friendly wave.

Knives blinked. His suspicions had been true! There was an organization out there that was capturing meta-humans! He tilted his head to the side curiously, as he looked up at Dango. At first, he couldn't understand how this girl could know about such a thing happening, especially since she was a normal human, who wouldn't be affected by such a thing going on. It never crossed his mind that she was helping; he was far too trusting, and often even naive in situations like this, to think someone as nice as Dango could be an enemy. Even when she tried to defend the organization by saying there were bad meta-humans...Finally, he came to the conclusion that she must have read the same things as he had, and maybe knew more about the incident than him. After all, he knew very little, having only run across a little information in his search for something else.
But now, she seemed to get really nervous. The dog boy's eyes followed her as she stood up, and began to head for the door. As she spoke, her words suddenly seemed hollow, as if she was trying to avoid something. Knives realized that she was bothered by something, possibly something he or Rafael had said. Immediately, his eyes got bigger, and his ears drooped. He looked sad, and actually quite pitiful. It was actually just part of him goofing around, as could be told by the look in his eyes; but his body language also showed that he really didn't want her to go.
"Aww, you don't really have to go....you have all night to look!" He sighed, knowing he couldn't keep her here anyways.
When she was gone (I'm assuming FB won't even look in this topic anymore...), Knives turned back to Rafael. The kid had actually fallen asleep, while a pretty girl had been sitting there with them. The dog boy blinked, and then leaned forward towards Rafael so that the other student was in reach. It was at that moment that he reached out and swatted Raf across the side of the head, with just enough force to get the idea across, yet not enough to give him incredible pain. Then, he sighed and leaned back, shaking his head, eyes closed. Knives was obviously disappointed in Rafael.
"Dude, Dango was hot, and you just ignored her. You're kind of a dumbass, huh?" He laughed. It was obvious he was joking; actually, he was nearly always joking, and was rarely ever serious. But that didn't change the fact that he didn't understand why Rafael would do that....

Rafael heard the words, still waking up. "Yeah, she was a hottie. But I can't do anything with her, I'm kind of in a relationship!" He said laughing, the thought of Chia always made him smile.
"So what now dude?" He asked, scratching his head and behind his ear. His nap was a short but energizing nap and now he was ready to do anything.
"Why don't you talk to her dude, she's a hottie and your single aren't you?" Rafael, asked taking a guess. Little did he know of what he would see the next day.

Knives let out a laugh. Obviously, Rafael was either naive, or the other person in his relationship was far too controlling. The dog boy understood not cheating; he would never do so himself, being a respectable person. So, of course, hitting on the girl would be out of the question for Rafael. But that didn't necessarily mean much.
"Ahhh, well..." Knives shook his head. "That doesn't mean you can't talk to other girls, does it? Ya don't have to be rude..."
Knives stretched out, his arms high above his head. Both hands slid to the back of his head, casually, supporting it as he leaned it back. His eyelids slid shut, covering his blue eyes, and blocking his vision - as if the steam hadn't done that enough already. But it felt good, and gave him a very at ease, peaceful sort of look. In fact, it seemed as if he was half-asleep, or at least very very relaxed. He felt carefree at this moment; if Rafael wasn't there, he would probably be sleeping by now. But it didn't bother him that the other student was there; Knives was a people person, and enjoyed company.

One of the dog boy's eyelids opened slightly, so that Knives looked at Rafael without having to destroy his peaceful feeling. After a moment, a laugh escaped him, and then he gave a shrug in response. Knives did like Dango, but he wasn't sure what his feelings towards the girl were; and what about the other girls he had met thus far? It seemed every girl at this school was attractive, and many had such cute personalities. His eyelid fell shut again, and he spoke.
"If you wanna get a good girl, ya gotta give it time, ya know, serenade em." He laughed a little once more. "But also, I barely know her. She seems cool, but I'm not gonna just go out with the first hot girl I meet."
He sighed, and shrugged. A moment passed where Knives just sat there, enjoying the hot springs...it wasn't a long moment, and it wasn't awkward, just....a moment. Then, the dog boy opened his mouth to speak once more.
