Am keen to get together some info on the above. It has been mentioned to various degrees in other threads so far. I'd like to check it as I'm experiencing power problems.
My vehicle is (to the best of my knowledge!)

'91 SSR Limited
2LT Engine Manual Trans. (plate on the engine says 2LT-2)

There is a plastic flip top box (grey) near the fuses on the RHS side of the engine bay, labelled "diagnosis". I cannot find any "check engine" light on the dash, but such a light is described in a '91 FourRunner (there's the "F" word!) handbook which was in the car when I bought it. Others have suggested this light is used to display error codes.

So there is obviously a diagnostic facility, but how is it used, eg. where are error codes displayed, are the codes the same as have been posted for the 2LTE (probably) etc.

Anyone care to comment?
N.
