Evan Shadeston
Name: Evan Shadeston

Grade: Grade 11
Appearance: Evan is quite the average guy by appearance. His hair is naturally jet black, though it’s obvious it’s been dyed to heighten the colour. Cut short and gelled to look slightly spiky, his hair is tossed to his left side slightly and is styled to come down just before his eye. His face is well proportioned, though his skin tone is on the pale side. Three piercings line his right ear, all silver. His lips are thin and enjoy being in a neutral position, but a smile might creep up from time to time. The most striking feature of his face are his dark orchid eyes which seem to gaze into the very soul of what they’re looking at.
Evan’s body is a little under built at only 142 lbs. and his skin tone is pale like his face. Standing at 6’1”, he doesn’t tower over others but can still be considered quite tall. His clothes consist of black and almost nothing but. His daily look is a black t-shirt with some heavy metal band logo/picture or the classic sketchy anarchy symbol in white. His pants are either black pants or a faded blue jean that are both in a relax fit. His belts range from black with a large symbol in steel or silver to simple leather brown ones. His socks are obviously black as well, unless he’s wearing his blue jeans when they change to white. To finish his somewhat unique look is a pair of almost solid black airwalks with only the logo in white. As for random trinkets, Evan wears two studded black leather bracelets, one covering each wrist. Lastly, he wears a silver cross necklace that hangs just over his heart when he has it on, most likely under his shirt.
Personality: Evan is a little on the quiet side. He doesn’t like to say more than he needs to, but it never seems to give him an anti-social aura. He enjoys to party and it’s about the only time he gets really chatty. A large fan of heavy metal, the underground music scene is his home and he loves to see up and coming bands. Coming from a well-off family, Evan has developed a complex of wanting to do most things on his own terms. Getting to where he is on his own merits is very important to him. Finally, Evan always likes to keep his friends close. Looking a little like a trouble maker doesn’t help to get him good friends, so the ones he has he likes to keep.
Special Power:
Soul Tap- Evan has the unique ability to slowly drain the souls of other people. To use this ability, the target must be within 25 feet of Evan and he must be able to point towards them. A beam of shadowy purple energy twists its way to the target, connecting the two instantaneously and slowly siphons the energy of the target into Evan. This effectively drains the target of its energy, making the target fatigued, while boosting Evan’s own energy, making him less fatigued. The ability takes about 5 minutes to fatigue the character, 5 additional minutes to effectively incapacitate a target and an additional 5 minutes to completely drain the target, killing them.

Pain Touch- Evan’s second ability is to send a jolt of extreme pain through a target. This effectively incapacitates the target through heart attack, stroke, internal bleeding or any other quick and painful disability that occurs within the body. Pain Touch can only be activated when physically touching the target and lasts for the duration of concentration plus 2 seconds. Concentrating on this ability slowly drains Evan of energy and can make him black out if he fatigues himself too much. The target cannot die from receiving a pain touch. This ability cannot be activated when a person touches Evan and must be delivered through Evan’s hand.

Shadow Sight- Evan also has the ability to see through any darkness, natural or supernatural. His eyes filter in small amounts of light and allow him to see through complete darkness even if a normal human could not. This is reflected through his dark orchid eyes.
History: Evan had a childhood most would dream of. His parents were quite wealthy and could provide their son with the best lifestyle possible. Living on an estate in southern Quebec, Evan had all the luxuries any human could want. His education was private, his toys were endless and his vacations were like heaven on earth. If it existed, Evan had it. For awhile, Evan thought his life was perfect. Unfortunately, paradise can never last. The boy soon grew tired of his flashy lifestyle and became lonely for friends. His sheltered life blocked many doors. On top of that, so much was expected of him. He needed to be smart, attractive, physically fit: perfect. The expectations of his parents were just too much for him. He simply wanted to be normal like everyone else.
In the years to follow, Evan quickly became everything his parents hated. Becoming a rocker instead of a scholar, Evan quickly set out to become main-stream in his life. His pleas to attend public school were finally answered and he was slowly integrated. To his dismay, the students were resistant to Evan’s appearance and chastised him for a long time. The boy had few friends, though what friendships he had were golden. Then, one fateful day, he was backed into a corner when the students of his school finally took their bullying to a physical level. On this day, Evan discovered his powers. When these bullies engaged him, his complete fear blasted the bullies away in an explosion of shadowy energy.
After his strange encounter, his decent into unpopularity became more of a prison. Everyone ignored him and he was fed up. What was worse was that his parents and friends seemed scared and distant around him. Solitude seemed to be the only answer and for three years he accepted it. Then, by chance, Evan discovered Manga High through articles on the internet about strange happenings around the school. Investigating further into the subject, he was able to discover the true intensions of the school. Now having a firm control over his power after three years of developing them in silence, Evan is now ready for the challenge of attending Manga High.

EXAMPLE ROLE-PLAYING POST: Vash was quickly making his rounds this evening, trying to get past his job before finishing other business he had. Clutched in his hands was the book he had received as a present from a shadowy figure that had invaded MHS. It was a book passed down through his family, depicting each life of each hunter within his bloodline. He was now seeking help from a near-by church to translate a few pages he had no clue as to what they said. The script was fluent and extravagant with many dots and curves. It was like no language he had ever seen before and clearly he wanted to find out what it said.
As he neared the church he spotted a figure sitting on the roof, starring out at the city laid before it. Drawing his sword once more, he quickly and stealthfully lept onto the church and crept up to the shadow. His massive cape created by the nightshades his sword absorbed fluttered in the wind, only making the faintest of sounds when he moved. Hostile or not, it would certain instil the fear of someone watching them. Swiftly making his way up onto the tower, he paused for a moment to plan his attack. Though he could not see the target, he knew the positioning and that was all the hunter needed. Then, in one motion, he swung out from his hiding spot on the roof and held his position on the tower, pointing his blade at the girl he had discovered. The move was as silent as the night, though he hesitated on his attack.
His brain kicked into gear just then, looking over the details of the girl. The cloud like wings, the familiar black lace and frills, the small, delicate stature of the girl. He instantly knew it was Amber, though he had no idea why she was here at this hour. Withdrawing his sword as silently as he had attacked with it, he looked at the girl with a smirk just in the visible range under his hat. It was a curious situation indeed.
"Little angels such as yourself should not be wandering these demonic streets alone." he taunted. "There may come a time when a vampire may just slip up behind you..."
The dunpeal then slid down from his perch and dropped down right behind Amber. He was squatting on both feet now with his hands gently wrapped around her arms. Free movement was now restricted through even that gentle touch, his supernatural strength holding her in place for the moment. He then leaned in and put his mouth close to her ear, his breath as cold as his touch.
"...and make you a light snack." he finished, then moving away to sit down beside her.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so?
