What is REAL vampirism?
REAL vampirism is a physiological condition in which the afflicted person's body does not produce necessary energies which enable the body to function at a healthy balance of mental and physical health... This lack of energies forces the body to find other means to gather and maintain these necessary energies... Often this takes the form of psychic vampirism, but has also been known to lead to pranic, sanguinary and elemental vampirism...
What is a BLACK SWAN?
A BLACK SWAN is a person, who is not a vampire, but loves, supports, and helps to protect those of us that are. There is an innate quality about the black swan that draws them to a vampire and a vampire to them.
The opposite of this is the White Swan. Most often, a white swan is a religious person who feels the need to cause trouble.
How does one become a vampire?
The answer to this is by one way and one way only... One is born a vampire... Although we do 'awaken' to our vampirism at differing times, we are ALL born this way... No one can make us, sire us, turn us, or embrace us... It just doesn't happen that way... Becoming a vampire is strictly fantasy and anyone promoting the idea of 'turning' another, I am afraid to say, is just a little too caught up in the world of roleplay and fantasy. Sorry all, but its the truth. (For more information on this, be sure to check out some of the sites on the Links page... The Vampire Church and Vampire Society are both highly informative places...)
What is psychic vampirism?
Psychic vampirism is a term which refers to one of the specific ways in which a true vampire must gather energies. It is most often spoke of as the 'taking in of both mental and emotional energies given off by others around them'. This also includes the energies of other living beings, including animals, such as a pet cat or dog...
These energies are the everyday, ambient energies given off by living breathing entities... They can be gathered at functions such as parades, dances, sporting events, walks through the forest... Just about anywhere you can think of actually, psychic energies can be fed from...
What is elemental vampirism?
This form of vampirism usually falls under the psychic vampirism catagory, but I have listed it here singularly for the benefit of differences in energy sources... An elemental vampire can pull energy from the very elements around them. Wind, fire, water, storms, lightning, lunar cycles, solar eclipses and even earthquakes...
What is pranic vampirism?
A pranic vampire is a vampire who derives his energies from the dense energies found in the blood and the energies derived from sexual contact... Pranic sources are the most quickly active to a vampire as they are from a 'physical' source as opposed to a base energy... This also means that the vampire in question requires less energies to maintain his physical and mental stability...
What is a sanguinary vampire?
A sanguinary vampire is a vampire whose primary source for gaining these much needed energies is blood... He/she is a blood drinker... For those who might wonder, this does not mean that the vampire takes in vast amounts of blood, as only a little is necessary to transfer the much needed energies from donor to vampire... The vampire in question also does not need to 'attack' people in order to gain this energy... We have donors for this (see further down the page for more on this)
What is a 'negative feeding vampire'?
The subject of much controversy among the vampire community, a negative feeding vampire breaks down into two main catagories. The first type feeds on the ambient negative energies that are present every hour of every day. These vampires draw in the negative energies around them in order to sustain that, oh so precious, balance that REAL vampires must work to achieve. The second one, dubbed a 'leech' or 'parasite' within the community draws their energies by literally causing harm, mentally, emotionally and, in some cases, physically. The greater majority of the vampire community tries to distance themselves from this latter type of negative energy feeder.
I must take the time to note for you, again, that MOST negative feeding vampires DO NOT create a chaos of negative energies to feed from. They simply draw from the already plentiful negative energies around the globe.
How does a vampire acquire these energies?
Most vampires uphold the value that ALL LIFE IS SACRED, and therefore, should be treated with the utmost respect... Therefore, to satisfy our need (especially from the sanguinary and pranic vampires), we acquire DONORS... People who willingly, and through a very safe manner, donate to our needs... However, psychic energies from such places as sporting events, parades and dances are free-floating and not directly harnessed to a living being, therefore safe for a psychic vampire to feed from without doing harm to another being...
What is the difference between magick and vampirism?
As both magickal practitioners and vampires deal in energy, I have explained the answer to this question this way...
In magick, one uses themself to raise energies and focus these energies towards a specific goal oriented end, while a vampire IS the end focus of the energies raised... In other words a vampire attains these energies for the soul purpose of maintaining that, oh so fragile, balance of physical, mental and emotional well-being, whereas, a magick user uses the energies to accomplish something... (I hope this makes sense to someone other than myself)
What are some common misconceptions about vampirism?
Well. Here we get into what certain organizations are fighting tooth and nail, so to speak... Myth and misdirection from such areas as religious leaders, Hollywood, horror novels, and role playing games, abound...
Let me break down some of the myths and misconceptions for you. We are NOT immortal. We are NOT undead. In fact, we are living breathing humans, much the same as you. We work, eat, sleep, play, and love our families (both biological and extended) much the same as you or your next door neighbor. Not all vampires drink blood. In fact, it is more rare for a vampire to be sanguinary than any of the other listed types of vampires. We are NOT afraid of holy objects. Holy water does nothing more than make us wet (and not in that way that one would like to get!!). And if you think about this logically, a wooden stake through ANYONE'S heart will kill them (that is probably the dumbest idea they have come up with yet, in my humble opinion)... Oh... And just for personal reference, I love to use garlic when I cook...
What are some of the common symptoms associated with vampirism?
Wow... Now this one is kinda strange. Yes, some of us suffer from similar 'symptoms', but as each vampire is an individual being, so is their 'condition'...
Here are some of the common symptoms associated with vampirism... Migraines (from which I suffer), lethargy, insomnia (the reverse is true in some vampires... narcolepsy), depression, obsessive/compulsive disorder, hypersensitivity when it comes to emotions and emotional situations, hypersensitivity to sunlight (some have surmised that this is due to a vampire's innate talents to sense energies around them... and boy does the sun give off with the energies!!!), and last, but certainly not least, an undeniable 'hunger'/'thirst' for something other than normal foods...
Again, these are only some of the symptoms associated with vampirism... As we learn more about ourselves, we also learn more about some of the things with which we suffer...
This is not a glamorous life, nor is it the Hollywood rendition of what a vampire is... Real vampirism is a physiological condition that affects both the physical and mental/emotional health of the person who suffers from it...
