Re: First time with poison
The sticky shows the way if you have cash. If this is your first character, this is probably NOT true...

1st advice: Geerloks are teh win. Get a geerlok for the vials (pottery) and a geerlok for the poison combines.

2nd advice: Create another character which does the vials. If you create an Erudite with maxed Intelligence, you start at 142 naked, which is pretty good and usually far better then your rogue will ever get even with good gear.

3rd advice: There's items that are easier to get and items which are harder. Use the reagents list at your favor. For example, 0-20 is easy with "Spider Venom", because those spider venom sacs are not uncommon (~30%) and you need only two, so on average you need to kill 6 spiders for one attempt. Compare that with "Giant Wasp Venom", where you need three uncommon components (~10%), meaning you need to kill 30 giant wasps for one attempt.

4th advice: Some components are used in various poisons. Depending on rarity, rather spare them and use the other drops. This is true for Lavastorm Mountains, where you just roam and kill *everything*, but keep e.g. the basilisk eyestalks mostly for later (or actual use).

5th advice: Know, what component in the zone you exp in drops suitable ingredients. In your level e.g., collect all the succulent saps in Overthere.

6th advice: The most poisons have an acceptable sell-back value... I keep only "muscle-lock"-type poisons for actual usage.

My advancement was:
- Spider Venom (20)
- Spine Break (32) (for actual use even, but expensive)
- Putrid Bane (56) (*very* easy to farm)
- Maddening Sap (87) (easy to collect in your 30s in Overthere)
- Kinetic Suppressent (>109, < 118) (for actual use)
- Languid Lixtwing (> 160, < 171) (easy to farm in Everfrost from snow orcs)
- Stiffening Ergot (204) (for actual use) - you'll farm your ass off for that...

If you can afford and hopefully haven't wasted your skill points in weird other stuff, buy 204-240... (240+5% from geerlok already gets you to the max. of 252, and you will do the last 12 points whenever the RNG is in good mood.)

Naturally, having a tracker alt which can do the farming helps tremendously. :)
