June 1st - June 19th
It's almost summer! The last few weeks of school have come, and students will need to study hard for their final exams! Don't let up yet, or your grades won't be what you want them to. Of course, the weather is almost perfect and pristine, in attempts to lure students away from their studies.
Five O'Clock Somewhere [3.27.09 ISO: Mae]
Eli sat at his desk, a blank expression on his face as he gazed out the faux window. It was Spring now, after what seemed like an endless summer, and the windows were beginning to mirror this minor detail. Meaning Eli was stuck at his desk shuffling papers (talk about a bloody uneventful day) on that beautiful day, simply waiting for the clock to reach five o'clock, when he would be free to go home. Home for the weekend! Fridays were the best days of the week. Save for the Friday at Work part, where time went by twice as slowly as it did the rest of the week. All Eli knew was that it was five o'clock somewhere in the world, meaning he should be dismissed two hours early so he could go outside and enjoy the Spring day. Being cooped up in an office when nothing was going on wasn't very good for anyone.
Eli glanced back down at the pile of paperwork on his desk, heaving a sigh. He shuffled through them and wrinkled his nose. This was such a bloody waste of time. If only he could sneak away from work. If he had patrol, he could have an excuse to go get a coffee or something. Just something to change the pace of the day.
Maybe he could skive off work for a bit. It wasn't like anything major was happening. But he needed a partner in crime, someone willing to sneak off with him. There was always safety in numbers. And then, if you got fired, you at least had someone that could relate. And you could cry to each other and formulate plans to get your job back. Or throw eggs at your boss's house. Whichever one seemed more appealing at the moment.
Mae, Eli thought, a grin coming across his face. Even if Mae didn't want to ditch work with him, she would at least have something interesting to do. Eli coughed slightly, glancing around at the other cubicles before standing up, idly wandering around in search of Mae. He made his way over to the drinks counter, and poured himself a glass of water, watching around the room for any sign of his friend, causing him to miss the cup entirely, pouring water all over the counter. He continued to glance around, set the pitcher down, and raised the empty glass to take a sip.
He blinked, and looked down at the counter. "Bugger," he mumbled gently, waving his wand quickly to clean it up. Another quick glance around the room signified as an attempt to make sure no one had seen Eli's act of klutziness. Well, the 455th act of klutziness. It was well known everywhere that Eli was the most clumsy person in the world.
But that wasn't what mattered. This was a covert operation. Find Mae, and escape from work. He had to be careful. It was a shark pit out there.
"The thing about growing up with Fred and George is that you sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve."
Maebh was bored beyond all reason. When there wasn’t anything to do in the Auror office why did they still have to come in and do work. There wasn’t really any worth in showing up to work if there weren’t any Death Eaters to kick the butts of. Seriously, it wasn’t fair at all. She sighed as she slumped in her chair, glaring at a stack of papers that needed her signature. Someone had told her that it was the utmost importance that she read the papers before signing but she didn’t really feel like it at all. She definitely wouldn’t mind doing something different. Maybe she could go visit Cyrus? That wasn’t likely possible seeing as he was probably busy grading papers or something equally as boring. She missed him a lot but she would never admit it out loud. That type of thing would definitely ruin the image she had built up so far. Speaking of images, Maebh didn’t even have a picture of him to put on her cubicle wall. Shouldn’t a girl friend do something like that? She was beginning to wonder if he had a picture of her. Oh wait. That’s right. I haven’t even taken any pictures as of late. She would fix that sooner or later.
Later than sooner more than likely.
Maebh was becoming more impatient with each passing minute. She still hadn’t signed any of the papers on her desk but she didn’t care. Now was the time to take action! She stood up quickly, her mind immediately focused on finding her good friend Elijah. He had never refused hanging out with her before so he probably wouldn’t do it now. “Oy! Eli!” She called out, not particularly caring if she startled anyone. They should be used to it by now! The sound of water dripping on the floor was a good indicator that Elijah was near. Who else could be so clumsy?
When Maebh spotted Elijah, she grinned and patted him on the back before draping her arm around his shoulders.
“I’m bored out of my mind, let’s go do something fun.”
((OOC: wwaaaagh, im sorry for taking so long!!!1))
