Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

Food Court Fiasco (Thorny)
Kane walked along side Hawthorne as they headed for the mall. He was lucky they lived beside each other, or he wouldn't of known when and where to meet her. After all, he'd never been here before, so how was he supposed to know how to find it? Kane sighed, feeling like he really needed to go out and see more of the area so he knew his surroundings better.
The young French man was dressed casually, in a pair of loose jeans, a black singlet and his favourite blue jacket. It was his favourite because it was the only one he had. Kane didn't really own many clothes. And of course, his pilot goggles rested on his head and he was wearing the necklace his mother gave him. They were the two things he wore almost all the time. Kane looked over to Hawthorne questionably. " We are going the right way... right?" He asked.

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny)
Hawthorne was quite pleased to be at the mall with Kane. After all, this was going to be way more amusing than dress shopping. They would come, get something to eat, and then go on their own ways. Simple date, no complications.
For their date Hawthorne wore a baggy pair of jeans, no holes in these ones, and a black ACDC t-shirt. She had pulled her hair up into a pair of braids, and had put her old, more comfortable moccasins on. After all, this was just a casual outing with Kane. She did put on her tan leather jacket though, it was a little chilly after all.
" We are going the right way... right?"
"Yes we're going the right way silly, see, my map says so."
She pushed up the arm of her jacket to show Kane the highly detailed map of the area. She felt that seeing her power in use would reassure him about their directional heading. They had made it to the place where the meals were served, and the pierced girl smiled up at Kane.
Just then a couple kids from the normal school appeared at the other side of the food court. They were dressed up all tough, motorcycle jackets and dirty jeans, and they looked mean. The apparent leader of the little group sneered at the odd couple.
"Hey look fellas, a pair of freaks from Freak High came out to play . . ."
The guys snickered and started closing in around Hawthorne and Kane. Other people dining at the surrounding tables started packing up their things and leaving. The situation was about to get ugly, and they didn't want to be collateral damage.

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny)"Yes we're going the right way silly, see, my map says so."
Kane looked to the map. It was very detailed, and rather impressive to him. " See? You do use your powers. It's very cool looking." He replied. Looking back up, Kane breathed a sigh of relief. He was so glad they were going the right way, and they had Hawthorne's map to prove it. It looked like things would go well tonight.
"Hey look fellas, a pair of freaks from Freak High came out to play . . ."
Kane stopped dead in his tracks, grabbing Hawthorne's arms and stopping her along side him. When the guys circled them he knew there would be trouble. His anger boiled inside him when they insulted them. But more importantly, they insulted Hawthorne, and he couldn't stand for that. Since no one was behind them, Kane stood in front of Hawthorne, protecting her in a way.
" Alright, now we came 'ere to get some food. This is not the type of place to start problems. But if you 'ave some please direct them to me. There is no need to insult this fine young lady with me." He explained, his eyes closed for his little speech. Kane opened them quickly, eyeing the leader with a cold look in his blue orbs.

Hawthorne blushed, and then forced herself to stop. He was right, she did do that a lot when he was around. Mentally she demanded that her face no longer turn colours araound the boy, at least she hoped that that would work.
Kane took ahold of her arms and pulled her behind him, gaurding her from the boys in front. It was a very sweet thing to do, and she appreciated it. Thorny laid a gentle hand on Kane's arm, letting him know that she would back him up as best she could. She was a scrapper after all, and these were just ordinary boys.
" Alright, now we came 'ere to get some food. This is not the type of place to start problems. But if you 'ave some please direct them to me. There is no need to insult this fine young lady with me."
The boys chuckled like a pack of hyenas and looked the girl beside Kane up and down. There were perhaps 6 or 7 of them now, it was hard to be sure, they all looked alike and they kept moving. Still, the leader kept his eyes locked with Kane's.
"Young lady? I don't see no young lady. I see a poorly dressed blimp standing beside ya . . ."

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny)
Kane brought his fists together in front of his chest and cracked his knuckled before returning them to his sides. Why these people couldn't just leave them alone he didn't know. He didn't really understand what was going on. All that was clear to the boy was that these random punks wanted trouble. And as much as he wanted to give it to them, he knew there was that level of control he learned through training that stopped his anger. But everybody had there weaknesses.
"Young lady? I don't see no young lady. I see a poorly dressed blimp standing beside ya . . ."
Everybody did have their weakness. There was always something inside people that could make them snap. Kane's weakness was the badmouthing of a friend. The boy had anger issues when growing up as a kid but training was what suppressed them. Unfortunately for these thugs, they'd pushed his buttons and it was about to get very ugly.
Kane sprinted forward without a word. There was no time for discussions anymore, he couldn't have that. Already by the look of them, he'd assumed they knew how to fight as well as a bunch of street kids would. Even in a fit of rage he could pick up on things like that. The leader attempted to jump back. Kane grabbed his arm and pulled him into a swift punch to the stomach. As the man knelt down, Kane elbowed him in the back of the neck, causing him to fall to the ground.
It was at this time that a few of the other ones came towards him; one from each side. Kane ran towards the man at his left, grabbing a hold of his forehead and slamming him to the ground. By that time the man from his right had found his way over to the French fighter. Kane grabbed onto his foot and pulled him down to the ground, before moving over and giving him a punch in the face.
Another man headed for him now. It seemed the other two were too scared to move. This one had a pipe gripped tightly in his hand. When he reached Kane, he was already back on his feet. The man took a swing at Kane with his pipe, but the blonde grabbed the weapon before it did any damage. The next thing that came at him was a fist, but Kane grabbed that as well. He held the fist tightly in his own hand, crushing it with his raw strength. The man released his hand from being a fist but that only made it hurt more. " Scared?" Kane asked, his voice filled with furious anger, the same feeling that showed in his eyes. Kane gave him a few punches to the face, fairly sure the mans nose had broken. He fell to his knees but Kane still had a hold of him. Taking the pipe, Kane finally let the suffering man go.
The two scared men started running towards the food court. Kane sprinted after them. He was obviously faster than the two men because he caught up to the first one quickly. But he didn't have time to really deal with him. Kane ran up behind him, pole in hand, and hit him hard in the back of the head. When this man fell in front of him, Kane ran right over him and threw the pole onto his head.
One left it seemed. But he was no problem. Kane caught up to him quickly and grabbed the back of his jacket, pulling him to a stop. Kane let him go, and all the man did was beg for forgiveness. Kane quickly kicked him in the chest, sending him flying up and right through a table. He looked back at Hawthorne, which was when he noticed something.
It seemed that the leader had gotten up somewhere during everything and was headed straight for Hawthorne. Kane jumped in front of him to stop him from advancing. Before a single word could be said, Kane punched him in the stomach once more, then punched him in the face. This caused their leader to hit the ground once more. He seemed out of it, but that wouldn't stop Kane. This man had started all this, after all.
Kane knelt down to him. " Now try to say anything bad about her." He said, the anger so clear in his voice. Holding his fist up in the air, Kane looked down to the suffering man with a smirk on his face. He began to punch the man in the face. There was blood on Kane's fists and a little on his jacket from the whole fight. He suddenly stopped, fist in the air again and fresh blood on his knuckles. He stood up and looked down to the guy, then back at Hawthorne. He just looked at her, not really game to utter a single word.

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny)
Hawthorne watched in astonishment as Kane demolished the band of thugs. She alternately clenched her fists in an attempt to move forward and help, or stepped back, crying out lightly as Kane did something exceptionally violent.
At the end though, Hawthorne had to cover her eyes. The sheer violence and anger that Kane demonstrated frightened her, and she didn't want to look. He had done it to protect her, but she was still shaking. She wouldn't judge him, but it was bloody and awful.
" Now try to say anything bad about her."
A shiver went up Thorne's spine, but obviously Kane would need her now. Taking a deep, bracing breath she stepped over the fallen bodies of the boys, towards Kane. Just as she reached over to touch him, mall security showed up, looking none-too-pleased.
"Sir, we're gonna have to ask you and your little friend to leave the premises. We don't need that kind of trouble around here. If you fail to comply, we will call the police."

Kane stood up after a while and looked at the mall security. He could have taken them if he wanted to, but there wouldn't be any point. " Sure, whatever." He replied coldly. Kane looked at Hawthorne for a moment. His eyes were filled with sadness and regret for what he had done. He just ruined everything because his anger had taken over. It was the very thing about him that he tried to prevent.
Kane started walking by himself. He didn't wait for Hawthorne. He would understand if she didn't want to be around him anymore. When people found out about how angry he could get they generally tried to keep there distance anyway.

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny) " Sure, whatever."
Hawthorne watched as Kane walked away from her, hurt in her eyes. Still, she understood what he was doing, she did it often enough herself. He had revealed something that wasn't in his nature to share, and Kane was removing himself because of it.
"Kane . . . ?"
As she stared and watched the blonde boy walk off, the rent-a-cop behind her laid a heavy hand on her shoulder. She turned to look up, and his face was stern. He glared down at the little delinquent he had by the shoulder. Apparently she was not as clever as her friend, and wasn't leaving quite as fast as he liked.
"I meant the both of yas, girly, but apparently ya don't listen. Why don't ya come down to the desk with me and we'll get ya an escort all done up in blue, eh?"
He gripped Hawthorne's shoulder firmly and wheeled the teenage girl about, frog-marching her back into the mall. Desperately she tried to wiggle around and look back for her friend, but the older man's grip was too strong. Angry tears ran down her face, but there wasn't much she could do at this point.

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny)"Kane . . . ?"
Kane heard Hawthorne but he kept going. He didn't want to leave her behind but in his mind it was the best decision for both of them. After all, he'd gotten angry and things like that happened to him so easily. If someone knew his weak point they would be able to exploit it and all that. Kane tried to stop thinking about it. He looked to the blood on his knuckles. It had begun to dry already.
"I meant the both of yas, girly, but apparently ya don't listen. Why don't ya come down to the desk with me and we'll get ya an escort all done up in blue, eh?"
Kane stopped and looked around. The moronic rent-a-cops were trying to take Hawthorne away. But why? It wasn't as if she did anything wrong. He was the one who went mental and attacked six people. He turned back to them, watching as Hawthorne struggled. That anger built up inside him again. He tried so desperately to control it but that wasn't going to happen.
Kane ran back towards them. " Hey rent-a-cop!" He called. When the mall cop turned to him, Kane jumped at him, put his hand on the cop's forehead and slammed the man to the ground using his body weight to make sure it happened. He knew that he and Hawthorne would have to get away quickly, or else get in some kind of trouble. " C'mon." Kane said, grabbing her hand as he started to run in the direction he was going the first time.

The man made an audible whooshing sound as Kane jumped on him. The boy was smaller than he was, but had the benefit of surprise. He released Hawthorne's shoulder as he hit the ground, the weight of the blonde fella on top of him.
Hawthorne just stood there kinda shocked. Kane had saved her from the security guard! Still, she didn't know how to respond, but apparently she didn't need to. He grabbed her hand, shocking her back into the reality of the situation.
" C'mon."
Not knowing what else to do, Hawthorne allowed herself to be dragged towards the exit of the mall. She wasn't as fast as Kane, but she did her best to keep up. Still, as she watched the mall security gaurd started to get to his feet, so she upped the speed.

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny)"Where ... are ... we ... gonna ... go?"
Kane looked back at the security guard as he was getting to his feet. He glanced over at Hawthorne before picking up the pace himself. " I don't know, anywhere." He replied, rather quickly. There was one place he was sure they shouldn't go: the school. If people came looking for them than the school would be the first place they'd look. But that would only happen if one of those thugs woke up and told them.
Kane looked around. He purposely didn't head in the direction of the school for that reason. But he had no idea where they were going. " Where can we go?" He asked. He wasn't panicing, and is showed in his voice. His voice was calm, yet it had a worried touch to it. But he wasn't worried about himself, he'd be fine. He was more worried about Hawthorne.

" I don't know, anywhere."
That wasn't helpful, Thorny couldn't map them out a route if he just stated anywhere. She now had to concentrate doubly hard, one on breathing and the rest on attempting to figure out where they could go. Her first thought was to hide out in the dorm rooms, but apparently Kane had a different idea.
" Where can we go?"
He wasn't panicking yet, but Haw was. She desperately searched her mind, but came out blank. She looked down at her one arm that was hanging out, and desperately begged her power to give her a map of the best place to hide in the direction they were heading.
The response was rather faster than she had expected. A clearly outlined map formed, complete with little dots representing them and the security gaurd, and an arrow pointing to the hiding spot.

Kane's eyes darted to the map that appeared on her arm. He smiled lightly at Hawthorne. " Told you your powers were useful." He said. But the smile was shaken from his face. This was no time to be joking around. He kept his eyes on her arm, but every so often looked up to where they were going. They were out of viewing range from the mall by now, and he slowed down his pace so she would be able to keep up with him and hopefully calm down a little.
They were headed in the direction of the arrow on her arm. Kane assumed it was where they should be headed, so he didn't bother to ask questions about it really. When they hit a long street, Kane was able to look away from Hawthorne and her map. He stared forward, a little pain in his eyes. " I'm sorry for scaring you." He said, a serious tone in his voice.

Hawthorne managed to squeeze out a breathless laugh, but it was hollow. The joke was poorly thought out and even worse for the timing, but he was trying, so she acknowledged that at least. She made sure that she kept her arm where he could see it, but no one was more glad than she was when Kane slowed the pace down. There was no way she could have kept running like that for much longer.
" I'm sorry for scaring you."
"Don't worry about it Kane, I've seen scarier things in my time. You just surprised me, consider the moment forgotten."
She gave the boy her brightest, most reassuring smile. Sure she was still a little bothered by it, but she had forgiven Amber for killing, so Kane's violence was much simpler to come to terms with.
They were approaching the arrow. The street that they were on was lined with small shops. Unlike the stores closer to the mall these ones were a little more decrepit, a little run down, and they offered an odder assortment of goods and wares than regular stores. Finally they stood in front of the building detailed by the arrow. A banner hung across the front, faded by weather, but still displaying the name "Madame Dreamfeather's Fortunes".

" By you maybe." Kane muttered under his breath. This was the first time he had gone off like that in years. At least he wasn't always angry, that was something to be thankful of he supposed. He looked down the the map again as they approached the destination. Kane never expected to wind up in this part of town, but in the current situation, he wasn't really bothered by it.
Kane looked to the banner that hung across the front. " Madame Dreamfeather's Fortunes?" He asked, looking over to Hawthorne with a confused look on his face. " Where are we? Do you know this place?" He asked.

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny) " By you maybe."
Hawthorne chose to ignore that comment, he was being petulant, and there was no need to glorify that with a response. So he lost control. Manidoo forbid he ever see her when she lost it, because that was something spectacular to behold. She'd only really freaked once since coming to MHS, but that was more than enough.
" Madame Dreamfeather's Fortunes?"
" Where are we? Do you know this place?"
Hawthorne was just as confused as Kane, and was about to say so when the door flew open. A strange figure in swathes of loose-fitting robes appeared at the door. Her face was ravaged by time, and her hair fell down her back in greasy black locks. Dark brown eyes stared at the teens for a second, before a wrinkly, liver spotted hand emerged, beckoning them inside.
"Come my pretties, Madame Dreamfeather doesn't bite. Learn what the future has in store for you."
With that the odd figure hobbled back inside her shop, leaving the door open for them to follow. Hawthorne turned to Kane, pierced eyebrow raised curiously. The woman had certainly peaked her interest.

So it seemed she had no idea where they were either. The map on her arm must have brought them here randomly, thinking it was a safe place. Kane's eyes scanned the place, not even sure if someone was actually around. But then suddenly the doors flew open and some old lady popped out. This could get a little creepy.
"Come my pretties, Madame Dreamfeather doesn't bite. Learn what the future has in store for you."..."Well Kane, up for a fortune telling?"
Kane thought the situation over. It was either stay out here and wait to be hunted by a mall cop, if the guy even actually cared anymore, or go inside with some old lady who was just staring at him. I'll take my chances with the creepy old chick... Kane thought. Looking to Hawthorne, the French fighter nodded. " Uh... sure." He replied.

As the two teens entered her little shop, the door swung shut behind them. Hawthorne squeaked and jumped forward, and the creepy old lady cackled. She was standing at a little altar lighting candles to Skuld - the Norse goddess of fate: Future. She indicated two cushions on the floor for the children to seat themselves on, and Hawthorne complied.
The old lady moved to sit on a third pillow, and held out her hands to each of the children. Tentatively, Hawthorne placed her palm on the wrinkled claw, and the woman closed her fingers around her hand. They both turned to Kane.
"Come now boy, we need you both. Everything is connected, so to should we three be."
Hawthorned shivered. This was so cool. Just in case, she gave Kane a reassuring smile and patted the cushion beside her with her free hand.

Kane looked at the old lady, then at his surroundings. He wanted to turn around and run, try his luck with the cops if they got him, but the doors blew shut so that option faded away. " Uh... I..." Kane said, but he couldn't get words out. What the hell was going on? One minute he was fighting randoms, he had the blood on his fists to prove that, and now he was here?
"Come on Kane, what could this hurt?"
Sighing, Kane reluctantly took the seat beside Hawthorne and held his hand out. He could just tell this would get creepier and weirder, but he just had to go with it. " Okay then.." He said, smiling back at her before looking forwards again.

Re: Food Court Fiasco (Thorny)
Hawthorne could tell that Kane wasn't feeling comfortable, but to Hawthorne this was a bit of a lark. There had been an old woman at the reservation who used to tell the children's fortunes, promising them all fame and great love respectively. It was fun, even if one didn't truly believe it.
" Okay then.."
Hawthorne took one hand and the old lady took his other hand in her papery paw. The light in the room seemed to fade away, until the three of them were sitting in complete blackness, completely illuminated, though nothing else about the room was visible anymore, besides the cushions they were seated on. The woman spoke again, her voice low and hoarse.
"The two of you will see great trials along your path, should you choose to follow it. There are many hazards along the road to your togetherness. Particularly in you, Hawthorne . . ."
She started, surprised that the woman had known her name. That, she hadn't expected. Still, there were a lot of other ways that her name could have been discovered, not necessarily supernatural.
"If you desire her attentions for yourself, Kane, there are others who you will have to supercede. One good, one bad. Each of these will have to be banished from her heart if you desire to share it."

Okay, so the creepy old lady knew her name. Maybe Hawthorne did know the place already. But what was all this about their togetherness? What was this old lady talking about? They'd only known each other for a few days, she couldn't possibly be talking about what he was thinking about. There was no way, she was crazy, Kane was sure of it. He was half tempted to pull his hand away and yell screw you to the lady, bust the door down and run, but he stayed. Perhaps it was his curiosity the tied him down.
"If you desire her attentions for yourself, Kane, there are others who you will have to supercede. One good, one bad. Each of these will have to be banished from her heart if you desire to share it."
Now wait just a second. She knew his name too? This lady really was some kind of witch. And now what did she mean about him wanting her attention. He didn't! She was his friend and he didn't see her that way. This fossilized woman was out of her mind. And, Hawthorne had a good guy and a bad guy after her? Who were they?
Forget it, Kane didn't even want to know. This whole thing was too weird. For all he knew she was just making it up. Maybe it was all a joke on Kane or something. He started to get a little paranoid about it. There was no actual proof that it wasn't, after all. She hadn't said anything about him other than his name. Kane looked to Hawthorne, giving her a confused look before looking to the old woman and waiting on her next words.
