Food for Thought...
Ask yourself the following questions: (1) If the Taliban were just why have so many people left the country over the past several years? (2) If the Taliban were favored in the eye's of Allah why have they had to endure four years of draught and famine? (3) If the Taliban was favored by Allah why haven't they defeated the Northern Alliance? (4) If the Taliban was imposing Islamic law and justice why did they resort to funding their war efforts with drug money? The answers are obvious. Although their intention and goal is Islamic their methods and their practice is not. Therefore, since to be considered Islamic the intension, goal, method and implements must all be Islamic, the Taliban's regime cannot be considered as acting Islamically and falls outside the bounds of Islam. As a Muslim I cannot support anyone or any leader that does not act in the truest meaning and manner of Islam. If they are oppressors I am aligned against them. If they are unjust I am aligned against them. If they are drug dealers, rapist and murders then I am aligned against them. Just because they call themselves Muslim does not grant them privilege.
