Formation of Tigress, II
Formation of Tigress, II

They all smiled at Kcrix, every single tigress open it’s jaws wide as they pounced at Kcrix, ready to tear her apart…

It was the dead of night, and a figure lay sleeping in bed. Or rather, lay tossing in her sleep as sweat rolled down her face and tears streamed her cheeks.

The tigresses lunged at Kcrix. One after another, they would jump and push her further back, although she was already in a corner, and they would retreat a few paces. It was an endless game of cat and mouse, only, Kcrix was the mouse and wasn’t at all liking her position in the game. Finally, after multiple scratches and little bite marks covered her, the orange and black-striped tigresses parted and sat quietly against the opposite wall, all of them glaring at Kcrix. From amidst the crowd of cats, one stood apart. It, unlike the others, was black with orange stripes and green eyes, and was clearly the leader of the pack. Slowly, it stood and stepped forward, lunging, and pinning Kcrix to the floor.

The sleeper jolted up in bed, her eyes snapped open, and she groped around in the dark for the light switch. She turned it on and grabbed the blade sitting on the table by her bed and her eyes darted about the room. They fell upon the digital clock, which read only one a.m.

“Shimatta, this is NOT my day.”

She sighed and lay back down, staring at the ceiling of her room as she fought down an urge to throw up.

“I swear I’m never going out ANYWHERE with Kay again..”

She heard a growl from the corner of the room and sat up in bed again, hurling the blade at the wall, where it stuck, harmlessly, to the door.

“Psychemon, if that’s you doing that, you’re as dead as a @#%$--!”

As she said that, Psychemon walked by the doorway, half asleep, and looked in at Kcrix as she took her knife out of the door.

“Kcrix?”

“….How the hell did you get out there!?”

“what? I’ve BEEN out here. I wouldn’t be caught dead in your room.”

Psychemon skitted along, avoiding the knife as Kcrix threw it again, this time lodging it into the railing on the stairs. She groaned and went to retrieve it. As she trudged back into her room, a second growl was heard. She gritted her teeth and turned around slowly.

“HOLY MOTHER!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?”

Before her stood Miako. A black tigress with orange stripes and green eyes. She tilted her head and looked oddly at Kcrix before sitting down in the doorway, seemingly blocking Kcrix’s only means of escape. Kcrix tried to get by the tiger, but was warned with a low growl and Miako slashed Kcrix’s side as she jumped back. Kcrix pulled her hand to her side, looked down at her wound, and glared at Miako.

“Miako, go AWAY. You’re not supposed to be in my ROOM at ONE in the morning… you shouldn’t even be a TIGRESS in the house. What’s your problem?”

The tigress growled and hissed at Kcrix as it stepped forward. Then, more tigers appeared behind the first, as if Miako was their leader, and they too glared and hissed at Kcrix. There was no escaping it. Kcrix’s eyes widened in not so much fear, but hatred for Miako. Then she yelled to Kay, hoping that it was just a nightmare and she’d wake up at any minute to get away from the tigers…

Psychemon was sleeping at the foot of Kay’s bed when he heard Kcrix yell ‘tigers’. He just lay there, wondering why she’d be yelling.. about tigers.. so late at night. She yelled again, and Kay sat up in bed, cursing Kcrix.

“Psychemon, go shut her up!”

Psychemon yawned and rolled off the bed, landing surprisingly gracefully on his feet, and pulled Kay out of bed.

“You come with me, then; she’ll eat me.”

“Then what’s the point of having you do this FOR me!? I might as well do it myself..”

Kay flipped on the light to her room and went to open the door, grabbing the handle—and jumping back.

“Kay!”

“..The door’s HOT, Psyche.”

“Fire!?”

“No, it can’t be..”

Re: Formation of Tigress, II
Kay tried the door again, and beckoned for Psychemon to back up as she formed a fire arrow and threw it at the door, tearing it apart. She followed the first attack with a second, an Ice spell, that quenched the flames and wet the downstairs. But she didn’t care.

“Come on, Psychemon--!”

A tiger met them in the doorway, and it hissed and slashed at Kay, missing her, but effectively forcing her back into the room. The tiger seemed to smile as it advanced on them both, and Kcrix’s yells for help became louder. But there was nothing Kay could do.

“MIAKO!! GO AWAY!!”

Psychemon glared at the Tigress with all the hatred and disgust he held for Kcrix. He looked up to Kay, who had digivice in hand, and then back to the Tiger. It was black with orange stripes, like Miako’s tiger, but Miako wouldn’t attack Kay… would she?

“Kay, we have a problem here. This can’t be Miako.. lookit the eyes..”

Kay followed Psychemon’s lead and noticed that the Tigress’s eyes were..

“Black!?”

Psychemon growled as the Tiger jumped at him, and he leapt out of the way as Kay was squished into a corner of the room as HazeGarurumon came to join in the fight. The tiger stepped back and spat at HG before leaping at his face.

“HAZE!! Just get it outta the way! I have to get to Kcrix!”

HG did as told, grabbing the tiger by the scruff of it’s neck and leaping over the railing and landing on the couch in the den. More tigers followed him in hot pursuit, bent on destroying him. Kay’s ears rang with the shrill of all the tigers’ hissing and yowling as HG fought them downstairs. She made her way out of the bedroom and came face to face with another cat.

“How many more of these things am I going to run into!?”

Several more joined the first, and Kay leaped over them and dashed to the room across the hall, where she shot by another black tiger and stood by her sister. Kcrix gave her a nasty look, but it soon changed as the tigress made another swat at her, throwing her against the far wall.

“Nice to see you too, Kcrix. What’s going on??”

Kcrix let Kay help her up, but didn’t answer the question. She formed a fireball and threw it at the tiger. Kay, in fear of burning down the house, scolded Kcrix and sent another Ice spell after it. A very soggy looking and EXTREMEMLY mad black tiger emerged, green eyes glaring at both Kay and Kcrix. The two looked at each other, Kay and Kcrix, and held hands as they each put forward one palm and frowned, yelling at the cat.

“LIGHTNING!!!”

Re: Formation of Tigress, II
The tiger was pushed over the railing, and landed with a sickening crack on the floor below. Kay and Kcrix looked at each other and grimaced, then made their way down the stairs, where HG was being overrun by tigers and wolves.

“How worse can this get?”

HG roared as the wolves and the one tiger (that fell off the second floor) regrouped themselves and swarmed over him. He looked over to Kay, his dark eyes screaming. Kay stepped back and tripped over Kcrix, sending both of them to the floor. Kay recovered and reached for her digivice, knowing that if HG digivolved, he would destroy the house, but might be able to save himself.

“HAZE!! Can you digivolve!?”

HG grunted and a wolf went flying into the kitchen, crashing into (and knocking onto itself) the refrigerator. That one didn’t try to get up.

“One down, too many more to go! Kay, this is a major problem!!”

“I know.. I know..”

Kay thwaked her d-4 a few times, then punched in a code with the few buttons on it. It shook out of control and she dropped it on the floor as it emitted a stream of black smoke.

“Ah $h!t, Haze, something’s wrong with the digivice!”

The black tiger lunged itself at Haze, and the wolves took advantage of his distraction. Within seconds, HG was brutally won over, and a final round of attacks send him backwards into the kitchen, where he met up with the stone table and went right the hell through it, landing on his back after going through the kitchen door that led to the backyard. He too made no attempt to get up.

“HAZEGARURUMON!!!”

Kay grabbed Kcrix by her hair and dragged her over the bramble of wolves and tigers as she flew into the kitchen and outside to where a torn up HG lay on his back, facing the stars. Kay knelt down by his head, her slate blue wings folding in and collapsing as she sank down to console him. He said nothing, made no noise, and she thought he was dead for the longest time. But finally, he inhaled a short raspy breath, and she realized that if he had died, he’d be reconfigured.

“Haze, are you alright!?”

HG turned his head to face her and he tried to smile; tried to make her feel a little less worse. It didn’t help. Kay turned to Kcrix, who was standing nearby, and gave her a roundhouse square in the jaw. And she shrugged it off, looking down at Haze in disbelief, looking at Kay, who was almost fully demonized now, in not a trace of fear. She rubbed her chin and looked at her sister blankly, her eyes and mind both portraying no shred of emotion.

“Kcrix, WHAT did you do that would EVER make ANYTHING like this happen in our HOUSE!?!?”

Re: Formation of Tigress, II
Kcrix shrugged again, her eyes black as coal, and she walked past Kay, pushed by her and made her way back into the kitchen. She knelt down by the dead wolf, the one crushed by the refrigerator, and said not one word. Kay came to the doorway and stared at her in anger, which turned immediately to horror and fear and regret as Kcrix walked up to the black tiger.

“KCRIX!!”

She shrugged again, thinking of nothing but death. She would face death in the face, as she had done so many times with Kay and Dagrus and Dagina. She was sick of living; sick of having to put up with all the nonsense that was her chaotic life. The cat’s jaws opened wide in a terrible roar, and Kay ran from the doorway, back to HG, back away from the scene. And the tiger shredded Kcrix. In the most profound yet meaningless way; and Kcrix died. Kay felt not a single one trauma wave, which she was sure she would when Kcrix allowed the black tiger to maul her.

and Kcrix died.

Kay sat outside, next to Haze, who had pulled himself together and was sitting beside her, trying to console her. Any attempt at conversation failed, but not many were really made, for the tiger and wolves were still inside, and they still seemed unsatisfied. Then the phone rang. From in the house, someone was trying to reach Kay, or Kcrix;; but Kcrix was dead. She had died. Kay stood up to go inside and scream into the receiver for help, but HG stopped her. The phone didn’t stop ringing. A flash was heard, and a horrible noise from in the house, and the phone stopped. One of the animals, probably a wolf, had electrocuted itself to stop the ringing. How stupid was that, Kay thought.

“Haze, we have to go back in there. We have to fight them. This can’t be really happening!”

Kay’s eyes turned black, as black as Kcrix’s were; and she dashed into the house, despite HG’s protesting.

“KAY!!”

In the house, the wolves had destroyed everything. Nothing was in place anymore. Everything was shredded. Kay flew over the animals, dead or otherwise, and past the demonic black tiger. She landed and picked up her emerald digivice, staring at the dead screen with wonder. She shook it a few times, but nothing changed. Then a wolf noticed her, and it approached her slowly from behind, slinking around her to attack from the back. And Kay heard HG yell from outside, and was snapped out of the trance that had engulfed her mind.

“KAY!!!”

I’m looking forward to part three…
