Forum & Message Board Guidelines
Board Conduct - Keep it Respectful :)

Well, I've been meaning to write this notice for quite a while since I realized many new members of Da Hui may not know some of the guidelines we try to follow on our boards.

Swearing

We allow it all on our boards - read any post by Saibok and you'll understand what I mean.

HOWEVER, if you're gonna use profanity be responsible about it. What you say on these boards is just as powerful as what you say in game. If you cross that line of common decency, your post/thread will be deleted and you will be warned.

Personal Attacks

Like any guild, there's always gonna be squabbles - especially in a guild as diverse as ours. But do your best to keep it civil. When you disagree with a guildmate, ally, or friend of Da Hui don't make things worse by resorting to personal attacks.

In general, we let a lot of things go because people always say rash things when tempers are flaring. But a pattern of offensive behavior will result in warnings or de-guilding.

Public Forums vs. Private Forums

When in doubt, post it in the guildhouse first. If you've got a gripe with another member, an ally, a guild friend, or some random dude in EC, post it in the guildhouse first. We can deal with it as a guild then take appropriate action if necessary. I've learned that posting controversial topics on our public forums has not been the most successful way to deal with disagreements.

If you have an issue that you feel uncomfortable bringing up even in a private forum, feel free to contact me at kapena@altavista.net.

Background for Newer Members

Da Hui is a family-oriented guild that is supportive and laid-back. Many of our allied guilds like Elusive Path have been friends of our guild for so long that they are just like family also. Treat our current allies: Elusive Path, Fellowship of the Phoenix, Company of Valor, and Healers United as if they were fellow Da Hui members.

I think that covers it. I sincerely intend to preserve the atmosphere of free expression on these boards but hopefully if we all keep these guidelines in mind we can avoid more "Rodney King Award" threads .

Aloha,

Kapena
Guildmaster of Da Hui
