Free characters for your use.
I got literly hundreds of character writeups I've done for protagonists, npcs ect sitting in my archives. I've decided to let them loose in the wide world for public consumption and game usage. Naturally I plan to post some of the more shady ones first, but let me know if you have a particular need and I'll see if I can fill it, or writeup a new one.
Going to try for one every 1-2 days, seen a lot of views, but no feedback yet, so not sure if anyone finds them useful or not.
Madon the Tailor:
Madon's Haberdashery is one of several that cater to the middle class guildsmen and artisans of the city. He specialized in custom tailored mens wear, though his wife also adjusts gowns. He is a prosperous man, spry with only the beginnings of a belly. His hair is thick black, with the beginnings of salt and pepper grey, as is his mustache and beard. He is known for his attention to detail, and the way his clothes project a more sound physique.
Madon is also the leader of a coven of thieves. He uses hs close proximity to the guildmasters and their wives to appraise jewelry, gauge the heft of money belts, and feel out secret pockets and hiding spots. He then dispatches a young boy to alert his rooks, who relieve the prospective prey on their way home. Not too often, and never near Madon's. He contributes a hefty portion of this for protection and guild dues, but the rest is more than enough to supplement his legal earnings. His wife is a retired burglar, and his sons and daughters also in the trade. Besides his family, he has a dozen "in the know" employees, 3 in his shop, 4 full time pickpockets, 2 burglars, 1 stable boy, and 2 scouts.

Gregori Vostyk, Confidence Man
Gregori comes from the Kosaki people, nomadic horsemen reknown for their fighting spirit and bravery. Gregori has the dark hair and olive complexion of his people, but lacks anything resembling courage. His first reaction to danger is flight, and he is uncannily lucky in evading pursuers. He has a glib tongue, darkly handsome looks, and a well trained singing voice. He earns his daily bread and drink by selling all manner of shoddy goods, forged documents, false holy relics and fake treasure maps.
After a string of successful jobs, he has saved enough money to weave his way into the better quality gambling houses and brothels of the city, where he is hard at work befriending the scions of noble families, setting himself up for future confidence schemes.
Gregori usually works alone, any associates in his schemes unaware of his true aims or identity. He maintains as low a profile as he can, as several Guilds want his head on a platter, and he doesn't contribute dues to the local Thieves Guild.

Yeli the Worm
Many rogues work the rooftops, climb over walls, or overwise climb over obstacles that lay between them and their lucre. Yeli the Worm takes the opposite angle. Born of less than normal size (4'3"), and trained as a acrobat, he is able to fit his body into many small drainage pipes, cellar chutes, and other entry points that allow him to enter manors and shops from below. When that fails, he is not adverse to digging. Many of his jobs are long term, with him setting up a tunnel or approach site under the city sewers. He knows the sewer system like the back of his warty hand, and is rumored to be able to see in the dark. Considering his subhuman lifestyle, nobody is sure what he does with his earning, though he does pay his guild dues every week like clockwork.
In appearance, Worm is short and starvation thin, but with cables of muscle holding his bones together. His hair is a dirty, shaggy brown, with eyes the color of gravemud. His teeth are intermittent, and he suffers from warts and hairy moles over a good portion of his body. Some have suggested he comes from goblin lineage. He is usually dressed in dark, smelly rags, but always carries a pair of clean, sharp knives, and a 1ft long meat cleaver across his back. He also has a trained rat named Fang, who is capable of retrieving small items.

Interesting rogue's gallery. Only thing missing is d20 stats on them, but I suppose that would be up to the DM using these guys.
(Back In Black) Delissandra Splitshadow - Marauder of Clan X
Grandmaster Poisoner (250), Master Potter (195), Grandmaster Lush (200)
Re: Free characters for your use.
I didn't wanna give stats, because I think they can be used for any system. I refuse to cave to the d20 juggernaught as of yet.
More to come, once I finish the first wave of the rogues, will throw in a few strong sword arms and mages.

Re: Free characters for your use.
I'll chip in. All my examples are strictly D20.
Timothy Quick, LN Human or Half-Elf.
A classic example of the resourceful adventurer, Timothy Quick is mostly rogue, with a level each of cleric and wizard. An extremely intelligent character, Quick is reknowned for both his skill in watchmaking and his efficiency in crafting explosives, usually an oil-based incendiary bomb which uses a striker plate attatched to one of his clockwork timers as a detonator. Quick is also able to create anti-personnel explosives using high-pressure acid. Timothy Quick's true area of expertise, however, is his mastery of the use magic device skill. With maximum ranks in this ability and as many magic items that give him bonuses to this skill as he can acquire, Quick is able to cast almost any spell from any school at any level, given the appropriate scroll or item. Possessing copious ranks in Decipher Script as well, Quick can puzzle out and operate even magical artifacts from lost civilizations and translate languages not spoken for millennia. Never hesitant to use a one-charge magical item to gain an advantage, Quick is an unpredictable and deadly opponent when cornered, and excels in a group as well, using his twin daggers and ambidexterity-centered feat progression to score a rapid succession of sneak attacks from a flanking position. Also extremely proficient with ray attacks from wands or spells, which benefit from sneak attack damage.
In personality, Quick is efficient, ruthless, and focused. When tasked with a specific operation, he concentrates on achieving his goal with a minimum of unplanned deviations. Although unexpected changes in plan irritate him, he never becomes angry, but instead grows grimmer and more taciturn. In a group, Quick is always willing to support his comrades, but rarely shows emotion towards them, even though he may put his own life at risk to preserve others. When dealing with persons he has no association with, Quick usually considers them little more than distractions. He does not kill without purpose, but is willing to sacrifice an innocent bystander or two if necessary.
Darius Tarnok
This high-level fighter with several levels of sorcerer (and one or two of rogue) is a master of misdirection. Using a staff-sized rod of lordly might, Darius poses as a full-fledged archmage, using a bag of holding full of rings of spell storing to augment his limited spellcasting ability and enable him to cast many high-level spells. Darius employs his ties with a powerful thieves' guild to refill the rings with spells after he has exhausted his supply. Darius claims to employ a spell he calls Fireblade Sphere, which appears to consume its targets in a whirling maelstrom of flaming swords, after which the corpses of its victims appear to have been slashed and burned by magical flaming blades. In truth, Darius's fireblade sphere is nothing more than a custom illusion spell which fills an area with a 30 foot radius, centered on Darius, with an illusion of hundreds of flaming, whirling swords. This illusion obscures vision to anything greater than 5 feet, and Darius himself is immune to its effect. Using the cover of the illusion, Darius then employs the flaming blade of his rod of lordly might to attack his opponents using powerful fighter attacks. After his victory, the illusion fades to reveal the bodies of the fallen, covered in burned sword wounds from Darius's attacks, which he then attributes to the Fireblade Sphere. Although fairly dedicated to the goodwill of his fellow people, above all Darius is a cunning, slippery schemer who plans to one day rise to domination of the local mage's academy.
The Black Trio
This cryptic trio of Cyric Worshippers have developed a fearsome reputation as troubleshooters able to handle any difficult situation. All three wear heavy, ragged black robes that completely cover their faces and bodies, and cover any exposed appendages in black wrapped cloth. They all appear completely identical. All three possess the Black Fire ritual power described in the Lords of Darkness Forgotten Realms supplement, enabling them to call forth black flame from their hands as a ranged touch attack which can hit targets as far as 15 feet away. This attack requires a standard action, and deals 1d6 points of negative energy damage per user's hit die to the target and 2 points of temporary Constitution damage to the user per use. Each of the three members of the Black Trio has his own role in the group. One member is a monk with a very high strength score who specializes in combat-oriented feats, another is a powerful wizard who specializes in attack spells, and the third member is a lich cleric of cyric. The three also carry rings of body switch, which utilize a special version of teleport without error to allow any two of the trio to instantly and unnoticably swap places as a standard action. Since all three members of the trio look identical, this tactic creates extreme confusion when powerful fighters attempt to attack the spellcasters only to find themselves fighting off devastating martial arts attacks, or when rogues target stragglers for sneak attacks which suddenly become immune to critical hits. Another favored tactic of theirs is to surround a single target and ready an action to use their Black Fire ability all on the same initiative count, dealing anywhere from 33d6 to 60d6 of negative energy damage depending upon their level (from 11 to 20) when encountered. Rumors abound about the Black Trio, but most people believe they are three powerful undead creatures who can all cast both arcane and divine spells and use high-level martial arts. The trio work towards the simple goal of attaining more and more power, in accordance with the goals of Cyric worshippers the world over.

-- My ghetto gear "Once, in the old west, a gentleman shot a professional gunfighter in the back. When asked why he didn't give the other chap a chance to draw, he replied, 'Well, he's dead and I'm alive and that's how I wanted it to be." -- from Red Planet, Robert A. Heinlein
Inigo is a halfling stealthy fighter of sorts (Shadowblade). After being lost by his parents from the halfling community, it was not until he was 10 that he found out they carelessly left him in a city while running off with "stuff". He rejected his bloodline which is practically unheard of for a halfling. He spent his first few years on the streets finding that due to his race's weakness of sticking together, he was able to gain a corner on the pickpocketting business. Due to his success, he was made a strong arm and was taught how to fight rather effectively. He later "disappeared" becoming bored of the guild and leaving it altogether. In a city one evening, while trying to pick th3e pocket of aq drunken spainard, the spainard quickly caught his arm and whiped him around, throwing him on the floor. Inigo matched up with this fencer of sorts but even though this man was wearing no armor, Inigo was deftly turned, out-maneuvered, and too slow for even this human. The spainard gave Inigo an ultimatum, become his servant for a year, or go to jail. Inigo spent the next year with the spainard, learning the ways in which this man fought without armor, and with intelligence rather than brawn. This suited Inigo more than he could possibly know. After the year, Inigo left the spainard and never saw him again. A few months later, his reputation began to build as a freelance hired sword. So much so, that the local assassins guild sent him a warning. He ignored it, perhaps a little too cocky for his own good. The assassins came after him but he defeated each one that came. He began the peculiar practice of taking their left ears. Up until this point he had no sirname, so from then on he was known as Inigo Leftear.
The peculiar thing about Inigo is while he adheres to his races natural tendancy to be Chaotic, due to his good nature, and somewhat evil past a battle inside of him constantly wages. He will help an old woman across the street, then not 10 feet away, slit the neck of the merchant flaunting his money.
Because of this he is rumored to be one of the few followers of Ralishaz. For one, he is the empitomy of chaotic behavior, ltwo, he never seems to suffer misfortune or ill-luck, and three,...perhaps that crossbone tattoo with a bone pick on it's right side on his neck has something to do with it.
