From on High (edward)
From way up high, people looked nothing like ants. Sure, they were small, but ants were solid black and had six feet. Really, he didn't see how anyone could possibly be confused. And, really, this wasn't even a very tall building, so the people only looked like really small people from up here.

Ok, so he was bored. He picked up random pebbles from the roof and started chucking them at people below. The range and elevation was too high for him to actually hit anyone, but he thought he saw a couple of people turn to see what was going on.

Things seemed to be shaping up pretty well so far. The students were more... energetic then he had expected at first, but that just meant he was in for a lot more fun. If he didn't get his neck broken in the attempt. Some of the more brash students he would have to avoid until he got something to keep them away with. However, he was confident, whatever happened, he could deal with it.

Ryoko was one of the people down below who's head was turned by the rocks falling from above. She figured it would be someone on the roof as opposed to the other students believing they came from the sky. She knelt down and picked up a few rocks, as she decided to go and confront the person, her way.

And what better way to get up to the roof than to fly? Well, thats what she did anyway. Ryoko slowly floated to the top, and she was greeted by the back of a young man. Taking one of the small rocks in her right hand, Ryoko hurled it at the boy and nailed him in the head. Years of training seemed to pay off yet again. Still up in the air, a smirk came across the red eyed girls face. " Now that isn't very nice, do you like rocks being thrown at you?" She asked, throwing another in his direction.

As the rock hit the back of his head he cringed forward, which wasn't a great idea since he was standing near the edge of a long drop. Arms wheeling wildly, he managed to stabalize himself and take a step back before another pegged him in the shoulder. Ok, now he was pissed.

He wheeled on the girl across the roof with him. Ok, how the heck had she gotten up here? Now that didn't matter too much, since she was throwing freakin' rocks at him.

" Now that isn't very nice, do you like rocks being thrown at you?"

"Ah..." he took several moments, shifiting between several thinking poses, holding his chin, tapping his foot, looking at the sky, before he answered. "No, I guess not, it's not fun at all. But it is nice to see you again."

"No, I guess not, it's not fun at all. But it is nice to see you again."

Ryoko landed on the roof with a smirk on her face. At least this time they met she had a decent amount of clothes on as opposed to just a swimsuit. " Good to see you to." She replied. Ryoko walked over to him and threw the last rock to him, though this time it was a throw that made it obvious she was giving it to him instead of trying to hit him with it.

He seemed a little surprised that she was up on the roof. Ryoko guessed it was because she flew instead of taking the stairs. Oh well, there was no reason she should have taken them if it would have only slowed her down. " So why are you throwing rocks at them? Someone could come up and get you for it." She explained, her tone of voice making it obvious she was teasing him.

He made a catching motion, and the last rock she threw stopped in midair, suspended by an invisible hand. Motioning again, he tossed it back to himself, catching it in his own right hand. He was a little disappointed that she wasn't still in skin tight clothing, but you couldn't win them all.

He would have heard the door open, and she wasn't here when she came up. So either she was really good at hiding, or somehow she had flown up from the street. He really couldn't dismiss either, so he tossed out a line.

"Maybe that's just what I was hoping for. And what do you know, it worked! So why don't you come get me?" He smiled at her, teasing her right back.

Ryoko's eyes narrowed on the boy, but it wasn't like she was angry with him or anything. She took what he said as a challenge. She teased him so he teased her right back. She shrugged. " Well why would I want to get you. It's much more fun when you try to get me." She said, teasing him again. She wondered how he would take what she said, as she waited for him to make his move.

Fair enough. Fun as it was to go back and forth, it would be more fun to talk with his hands. He came at her in a sudden sprint, spry but not amazing for his size. He put his head down and tucked his shoulder in his best Pop Warner imitation, looking as if he meant to tackle her.

Four feet from her, he skidded to a halt, arms coming up, invisible hands plucking at her, and with a grunt he lifted her clean off the ground. "Gotcha!" he piped, letting her hang for a moment before dropping her a foot back to the roof. He still smiled the same goofy grin and light voice, maintaining the teasing tone of the whole affair. This should be fun.

"Gotcha!"

Ryoko had her arms folded the whole time. So he lifted her in the air. She flew, it wasn't anything new to her to be up in the air. When he dropped her and didn't hit the ground. She stayed afloat a few inches off it, her head now resting in her hands as she yawned. " Oh! Right, you were trying to scare me." She teased.

Quickly after saying that, Ryoko's feet touched the ground and she ran for the boy. She was noticeably faster than the average person, another perk from her years of training. But she stopped just before him and planted a hand on the ground. " Kage Bushin no Jutsu!" She shouted. A cloud of dust and smoke swallowed Ryoko up, and she was so close to Art that it got him too.

A perfect clone of Ryoko stood behind him. The clone knelt down and tripped Art, and the real Ryoko was there to catch him. By now the dust had cleared, and the clone was gone. " Gotcha." She said.

He fell lightly into her waiting arms, not able to dodge the assault. He looked up at her lightly, bemused. This girl didn't give anything away. All he could tell so far was that she had in fact flown up. All her other little tricks had him baffled... for now.

It was time to enact his personal motto. "Yes, you got me." His arm moved to grab her waist, and planting his feet, he pushed back, propelling himself towards the edge of the building.

"Yes, you got me."

Ryoko was very calm as Art dragged her and himself towards the edge of the rooftop. She moved her arms so they were around him, and it probably seemed like she was hugging him. But no, if they were going to fall she didn't want him to slip out of her grip and fall before her. This way she could fly them both up easily.

" Let's go for a ride." She said, before pushing up into the air. After flying up for a little while, they were in above the clouds and when looking down it was impossible to see the people down below. Ryoko looked to the boy as she held onto him strongly. " So, what do you say? Up for a bit of a drop?" She asked.

Re: From on High (edward)
As he gazed down at the earth below him, he contemplated his fate. This little game of oneunmanship was, really, extremely one-sided. He could easily admit that to himself as he looked into the abyss. However, there was no way at all that he could stop. Even now, he wouldn't give, even in a game this pointless. The last thing he had was his nerve, and no way he was letting go of that.

His voice held no fear, and was as light and easy as when this whole thing had started. "Let's see... I'm flying, I'm in the arms of a beautiful woman... all I really need is for one of these clouds to turn into a giant sundae and my life will have been complete."

He had never been up this high. He considered the city and the hills spread out below him, marveling at the view that the angels themselves must see from. A bit of awe crept into his tone. "Well, before I go, tell me... is it always this wonderous?"

Ryoko smiled lightly as she resisted the urge to do what she usually did when people complimented her, pinch there cheek. It was something that arose at MHS a little while after she first came. " Consider yourself lucky then, your one of the lucky few that get in these arms." She replied, her red eyes locking with his before she looked out to the scenery.

"Well, before I go, tell me... is it always this wonderous?"

His question surprised Ryoko. She didn't expect him to ask something like that, but then again she didn't expect to be flying anyone up into the clouds today either. " Yeah, it is." She replied softly, remembering all the times she flew up in the clouds to escape her father. Ryoko sighed lightly before looking to Art. " So, ready to fall? I won't drop you, you just have to trust me." She said.

His eyes were odd as she looked on them, green, but blank somehow, like a mirror that didn't cast a relection of the person who looked into it. The lightness of his voice belied the emptiness in his eyes. "Truly, I am most fortunate."

Ryoko sighed lightly before looking to Art. " So, ready to fall? I won't drop you, you just have to trust me."

Arthur firmly believe that everyone found a place where they needed to be. It seemed this was her place, open and unemcumbered by anything. He wondered, in the quiet of his own thoughts, if she felt so easily about people.

"Men are not given to question the angels. I trust you. You will not do me wrong."

"Men are not given to question the angels. I trust you. You will not do me wrong."

The conversation between the two seemed to get serious as they had entered the sky. Ryoko wondered if she would revert back to her regular self once she was back on the ground again. It usually turned out that way for her. " Angels huh... I'll let you know when I find one." She replied.

Before he was able to give her an answer, Ryoko allowed them to begin their decent quickly. Her goal was to stop them back on the roof. It wasn't the first time she flew around with a person, so she doubted she would have any trouble with it.

As they descended, he wondered at what would come next. In one way he didn't want to leave the maternal embrace of those arms. But, like everything else in this world, the moment couldn't last.

All the way he remained quiet and dolice in her grasp, silently watching the earth come up towards them. He came down lightly, arms slipping away from her. "So... I suppose now I'll have to promise to be a good boy from now on? I don't know if I could do that, but I'd be willing to try."

Ryoko slowed down there decent when they came to the ground. Usually when she was with other people she brought the 'ride' to a halt very quickly, because it shook them up a little and it was fun to watch. But this time she didn't feel like doing it. When they landed on their feet, Ryoko let him go.

"So... I suppose now I'll have to promise to be a good boy from now on? I don't know if I could do that, but I'd be willing to try."

" Good boys are always nice, but sometimes the bad ones are more fun. Did you have fun?" She asked, poking him lightly in the stomach after she spoke.

He bent over at her poke, making as if it were a serious blow. "Ooof... Yeah, that was a lot of fun. You..." he reached up to tweak her nose. "You are quite amazing. I'd offer to show you a few tricks, but I don't have anything at all to compare to what you've shown me. Maybe, another time, I will." He smirked. "Until then, I can't do anything but salute you."

When Art tweaked Ryoko's nose, he reminded her of Jun-Bo. He always did little things like that to her, but he did all that just because he was her friend. " Well your hands trick is very impressive. You'll have to so it to me in a calm situation so I can actually get a look at it." She explained.

Ryoko then wondered if he had caught a look at her clone through all the dust and smoke her powers picked up on the roof. If he asked about it she would gladly show him. It never bothered Ryoko to show off her clones, however sometimes it was more fun to trick people with them instead.

He was of course curious about what had happened on the roof, having not seen her clone in action. However, he was going to be damned if he simply asked. Let her have her secrets for now. It would be fun when he figured it out on his own.

" Well your hands trick is very impressive. You'll have to so it to me in a calm situation so I can actually get a look at it."

He smirked. "Just tell me where and when and what I should be wearing," he teased. "Until then, I think I have to find a clean patch of ground to kiss a few times."

Ryoko laughed at what Art had said. She took a step back from him and pointed to the ground. " It may not be clean but it's better than nothing." She replied. Ryoko was, of course, not being serious. God knows how many students were up on the roof everyday and got knows what they did up here. She moved her hand back into her pocket.

She looked up to the sky. " So you have never been up that high before?" Ryoko asked. The height seemed like nothing to her really, well not anymore anyway.

Laughter was always good. People loved to laugh, and they loved you when you could do that for him. Art loved to make people laugh, if for no other reason it make them less likely to watch their valuables.

"She took a step back from him and pointed to the ground. " It may not be clean but it's better than nothing."

He looked down. "Well, Ok, but only because you said so." He dropped quickly, kissing the top of her shoe briefly before jumping back up.

" So you have never been up that high before?"

"Ah, no, not at all. I'm more the street and alley type. I've never been on a plane, but then again, I never really had any place to go. People are pretty much people whereever you go."
