At the top of the Capcom page it says Hyper Inflation Shooting and an ad for the game is advertised in DC Mag #2 with the following two English slogans:
Quote: Activate your reflect power and then dive into a storm of bullets!
Quote: I'm wondering, how many guys wuold really use non-girlie game wallpapers?
Good question. I probably wouldn't...then again I don't typically use any wallpaper but I do "collect" it. I always "plan" to use it, but it's one of those things I'll do when I get my PCs fixed "right" and that never seems to really happen.
I always have to either make my own wallpaper or work on ones I find, as almost no one bothers to make ones 1280x1024 or larger.
I was running a Space Channel 5 one a little while back on the other PC but disabled it for some reason I don't recall now. At one time I had a DOA2 one on this PC but I didn't have much memory at the time and it was slowing the machine down. I fixed that but never put the wallpaper back up.
I tend to be running things full-screen, where I never see the desktop anyway.
Re: wallpapers
I use NiGHTS and Mr. Driller wallpapers as well. I had some ChuChu Rocket ones, but those were so bright that it would burn my retina, so I got rid of them. I did take an image Raymond posted somewhat recently of the game Eve Zero (think that's it) and turned her into a wallpaper and into the girlie pile.
Of course theirs are better IMO *sigh*, I have much to learn. Thanks Raymond :P
Oh, if you want to see a bigger version or *gasp* want to use it for your desktop, go to ahsonet.emuviews.com, Wallpapers, and it's the "Exclusive" link.

I'm wondering, is 1280x1024 used alot? I'm starting to see that res mentioned by a few people and I'm wondering if I should start making my custom stuff to fit that as well.

I don't really know, I just know I use it. As larger monitors have become somewhat less expensive and videocards have more memory (used to it was expensive to have high res at high refresh rates and color depth), it should be more common.
Normally, I'd think if one is using a 19" or larger monitor they'd use at least 1280x1024; as my monitors are 21" I'm thinking of switching my other machine (the one with real "work" on it rather than just internet-related stuff ) to 1600x1280 (or 1600x1200, whichever one is the right proportion). The higher the resolution, the less space is "wasted" by menu bars and such, though you can control that somewhat by font size.
The old "rules" I used to see in magazines were:
14-15" = 640x480
17" = 800x600 or 1024x768
19" = 1024x768 or 1280x1024
larger than 19" = 1280x1024 or more
Me, I could never stand the huge space taken by icons and such at 640x480 or 800x600, so even when I used to have a 14" monitor not that many years ago I still ran 1024x768. Was a bit of eyestrain though.
That's all in reference to Windows, I'm pretty clueless about Mac stuff.
Re: wallpapers
Heh, first thing I say when I use a PC that has less than 1024x768 (What I use) is usually something to the effect that they need to change it =)
*goes back on topic* umm, Giga Wing 2 looks fun *rolls eyes*

I do. Although I often use girl game type wallpaper, I'll occasionally put up robot anime/game related wallpaper as well like Gundam or VOOT. I also put up various other wallpapers depending on what I run across on the net like game & anime stuff.
Heh we're like a little GigaWing 2 wallpaper task force.
I usually use, umm, girlie wallpaper. Lately my own stuff like Annet of El Viento and such. If I don't use girlie wallpaper it's usually of the "edgy" characters, or ones with original designs, like Iori of King of Fighters or Hayami of Groove on Fight. Yeah so what I'm a little dark in nature, so sue me.
*thinks we could maintain a "Girlie Wallpaper Watch" section of a forum :P (Not being serious)

Hehe, well I think I'm doing that anyway, at least what shows up on the Japanese sites. Perhaps I should use that header tag now, " Girlie Wallpaper Watch: <description>"...
Here's more GW2 wallpaper, unfortunately not girlie this time: www.famitsu.com/game/wall/2001/01/23/giga01.html
Might be a little hard to follow without reading Japanese, so I'll explain. About halfway down the page are 9 files, in sizes 1024x768 down to 640x480; that part should be clear enough. The left column is Windows bitmap format, the middle column is a Mac format, and the right column is JPEG format.
Re: wallpapers
When I last left my computer (which is shared by quite a few people) the wall paper was a blown up and slightly edited image from Zone of Enders. That game looks so cool. ^_^ That was quite a while ago, though, and the computers I'm using now don't let me change such things. I rarely change wallpapers because I am too lazy to seriously care about it, but every few months or so I decide to switch around or get something new...
Capcom Asia's website (www.capcomasia.com.hk) had a background image that was approximate wallpaper size, so I took it and made it into one. No harm, it's not the best of the 6 here but it's kinda nice;
5th image, sorry had to link to my server, the one on Capcom Asia's website isn't the perfect size and I added the logo and mirrored the image (Room for icons), in case someone actually wanted to use it :P
Enjoy.

GW2 wallpaper contest
We're seeing those wallpapers everywhere because Capcom/Takumi is running a wallpaper contest. The sites are asked to design their own wallpapers for download, and there is voting to see which is best.
Personally, I'd tend to favor the girlie ones. Too bad it seems that Capcom/Takumi have not supported the hot swimsuit pics as base material. (If they had, no doubt everybody would have been using them.)
