All I can say is keep hunting.
The elk don't respond to the calls.
Wolves are only in Laramie. You can go to Coyote Creek Camp and download the Laramie map. It is also a good map for elk.

Re: I need some hunting tips. Please?
Okies. Even though dowloading unofficial maps kind of erk me. >.o I'll try it. Worst thing that will happen is that I'll have to reinsall my game. Something I'm all too familiar with anyway, so that wouldn't be a really big deal.
Oh. The one elk I bagged seemed to respond to the calls and scents, but that could be a coincidence I guess.
I alternated calls from male to female at 5 minute intervals.
Took over an hour I think, but one bull finally showed up.
Re: I need some hunting tips. Please?
I should have mentioned that in the game and at the "Pick your start spot", the maps will be black. This is normal.
Any of the maps at Coyote Creek Camp Downloads have been tested and don't cause major problems. Some might have some lag, but usually no crashing.
Alot of sites use the Laramie map in their tournaments, so that should show you how reliable it is.
Re: I need some hunting tips. Please?
Glad I could help. I told you that map was good.
The rare deer (albinos, unicorns, and demon) are in DH5. They load anywhere, any map, any time, any season randomly.
The computer picks a number between 1 - 1000. If the number is 1, there will be a albino. Then it picks a number between 1 - 10000, if it's a 1, then it's a unicorn. The same for the demon.
There are no strategies to hunt the rares, just luck to see them.
Re: I need some hunting tips. Please?
That's all I can suggest for hunting the rares. Hunt, hunt, hunt, and hunt some more. And when you get tired of hunting, hunt more.
Well, I guess you get the idea.
You can always come over to Coyote Creek Camp and ask your questions on the message board there too.
And while your there, check out the tournaments and join in. No sign up needed, just submit an entry on time.
Check it out!.

Re: I need some hunting tips. Please?
After hunting on DH5 forever i finnaly got an albino but no rack kinda a bummer but i took it since like you said there rare.
Re: I need some hunting tips. Please?
Hey, an albino is an albino. Of course they look better with a rack, but, an albino is an albino!
Congratulations!
Now keep hunting the same area. Alot of people say they come in spurts. When you get one, more will come. I haven't found that to be true, but you never know.
Persistance pays.

Re: I need some hunting tips. Please?
I've had DH5 since it came out. I only have two albinos. Haven't seen a unicorn or demon yet.
You can go to Coyote Creek Camp and look at the hot spot maps. That'll give you an idea where the rares might be.
Good Luck!

Re: Going away for a bit. & Web page posted.
They are nice trophies. Now you have to get over to Coyote Creek Camp and get in the tournaments. After your vacation, of course.
Have a good time, and I hope to see you at Coyote Creek Camp.
