Gold status Hello, all! I meant to make this announcement two weeks ago, but alas, I am easily distractable, and I forgot about it until I got another reminder in my inbox today. Our Gold Community status runs out in two weeks, on August 11. I paid for it last time; I would this time, too, except that in going to two cons in the next month, I'm already stretching myself thin, as far as finances go. Six months of Gold will cost us $30. A year is $54. Not bad, really. Three months is only $18, but I don't think that that short a time span is worth bothering -- it will come back on us again all too quickly, and it's cheaper to go for longer stretches, anyway. If you'd like to make a contribution, just click the treasure box at the top of the main page. EZBoard accepts credit cards, paypal, and checks/MOs. Alternatively, you may remember one of the banners floating on the top space a while back, as well, touting "Free Gold" for allowing "unobtrusive" text ads on certain pages. What they say is this: "A major Internet advertiser has approached us with a special offer to accept a form of advertising unlike any we have seen before. The ads are text only, highly targeted, and will only be shown on topic (post & reply) pages. The ad content is strictly based on what your members are talking about - always targeted, and unobtrusive. Since the ads are only placed where they are most useful, the rest of your community will be free from advertising, giving you full control over look and feel." For more info on that, click here. Personally, I don't want the ads. That defeats half the purpose of having Gold in the first place. It's not just my decision, however -- it's you guys', too. We have two weeks to either pay up or opt for the "free gold." -- |

Re: Gold status
Since I haven't heard a peep, I've put us on the "free gold" advertisement thingy just to see what it's like. Minimum commitment is two weeks.

Re: Gold status :/ If I had the cash on hand I'd offer some. As it stands now, I'm a bit broke. I really wouldn't want to see this place flooded by the craptastic ads that this place gives out. Stupid pop ups. I'm not sure what will help it, but I'll post to my lj, and see what happens. Re: Gold status No problem, 'Hart ... advertise to your heart's content. Being broke is my problem right now, too. This con-going thing is expensive! -- |
