Heritage quests requiring harvesting and crafting
From EQ2Traders

Heritage Quests Requiring Tradeskills or Harvesting

There are several heritage quests that require some tradeskilling and/or some harvesting. Since these can sometimes be confusing to a non-tradeskiller, here are some details:

A Strange Black Rock (Glowing Black Stone) - slips in on a technicality, since you don't have to personally craft, harvest, etc. You need a looted or crafted palladium torque.

Axe From the Past (Polished Granite Tomahawk) - This one requires both harvesting and crafting. Harvesting: 10 pristine granite off stone nodes in Thundering Steppes. This will require a mining skill of 90. If your skill is lower than that, practice in tier 1 zones until 21 skill, then tier 2 zones until 90. Crafting: You must be at least artisan level 9 to scribe and use the recipe to make the dull tomahawk. You will also need an ash stave (can be made by any level 20+ crafter) of any quality level, and a sparkling flower. (Note that after February 21, 2006, you will need severed ash instead of an ash stave)

Stiletto's Orders Intercepted (Manastone) - In order to scribe the recipe and create the Shroud of Manastone, you will require at least artisan level 9. You will need the enchanted linen (provided during the quest), as well as an etched hide plate (from a level 30+ tailor) and a glimmering tooth. (It must be a tooth, not any other glimmering item.) (Note that after February 21, 2006, you will need a sullied medium quality pelt instead of an etched hide plate)

The Bone Bladed Claymore - also slips in on a technicality, so folks don't think it is forgotten. You need a rare ebon in order to reforge the claymore. However, you can buy it instead of harvesting it yourself, and it is an autocombine (no artisan skill required)

The Lost Legend of Lavastorm (Crown of King Tranix) - requires that you harvest two items off nodes (one stone, one ore) in Lavastorm. You will need a mining skill of 190 or better in order to harvest there.

The Teachings of Yoru (Flowing Black Silk Sash) - You will first need to harvest 10 pieces of severed maple from the wind-felled trees in Antonica. This requires a harvesting skill of 21 or higher. Another step requires that you personally create Basil Grilled Deer. This will require artisan level 5, the corresponding artisan books, one harvested basil from tier 1 gardens, one deer meat from tier 1 dens, as well as a few other minor purchased supplies/fuel. You cannot have someone else make this item for you.

These Boots Were Made For ... (Dwarven Work Boots) - one step requires harvesting 100 wood and 100 iron (from "ore" nodes) from either Antonica. (You used to be able to harvest from either Antonica or Commonlands, but this was changed at some point, and only harvests that you perform in Antonica count.) You must harvest this yourself, not buy it. Harvesting them will require 21 foresting and 21 mining skill. If your skill is lower than this, practice harvesting wood and stone nodes in tier 1 zones.

The Stein of Moggok: It Can Be Rebuilt - you will need artisan level 9 and a glimmering stone in order to rebuild the stein.

NOTE that the following harvested items are used for the above heritage quests and may sell for more than normal! Worth hanging onto these if you find them, and think you may do these quests later. And worth checking the resell prices of these if you don't plan to use them in quests!
  • Palladium cluster
  • Sparkling flower
  • Glimmering tooth
  • Ebon cluster
  • Glimmering stone
