He's Fallin but He's NOt Fallin' Chapter 2
I sat in Homeroom about six hours later, answering stupid questions about the White House when Mr.R called me up to his desk.

He cleared his throat. "Skyler Morgan, you look so much like your sister, you know that?"

I nodded. You've told me that about 784 times, sir."

"Yes. Well, Mr. Morgan, I'm afraid I'm missing a few of your assignments. Remember page 92?"

"Yes sir."

"...and page 784?"

"Yes, sir."

"...and page 9,807?"

"Yes! All of them!"

"None of them have been handed in. You can't keep this up if you want to go to Saybrook High."

I sighed. Saybrook High School- The only five-star high school in the area. I swear- they have the bst drama club, best choir, best sports teams- even the best band. I'm very talented with the trumpet compared to my sister and her clarinet. I want to join the band! With luck, we'd win any competition, with me in it and-

"Skyler? Are you listening to me?"

That brought me back to earth. "Yes, sir."

Mr.Rected shook his head. "You have to get a better attention span, Skyler. That's one of the things that's keeping you out of Saybrook. Here you are in eighth grade at Sayriver Middle School. You don't want to stay back, do you?"

"NO SIIR!"

Mr.R smiled, "Gooooood. The cass will be over in about three seconds so you can go-"

RrrrIIIII-iiiing!

I ran back to my seat, grabbed my stuff and was out the door faster than you could say "Homework".

I ran all the way to my locker, avoiding all the ditzy girls that were blabbing about this "suer-hot guy that they had met at the mall."

After removing my books from my locker, I ran as fast as I could outside. I had to walk home, which is much slower than riding the bus, so if I wanted to feed Wolfgang before he ate my gym socks again, I'd have to RUN.

Naturally, though, after I passed Lavender Street, I started to feel thirsty.

No problem! There was a Walgreens right down the street. But alas- I had no money. I sighed and stuck my hands in my pockets. Suddenly, I felt something round, thin and...cold...

Heaven-Sent change, I suppose.

I left the store about 3 minutes later, with a large green-and silver slushie that was bound to make me very, very sick later that night.

I liked it anyway.I walked down the street, humming "Lady Madonna". That song seemed to fit the recent events perfectly. Especially the heaven-sent money!

I walked up the stairs to my house not too much later, hoping that Wolfgag hadn't chewed anything up.

Nope! Infact, I saw my sister, Erika, opening up a can of tuna. "Yo, Sky, I fed the furball so don't worry."

I nodded. Wolfgang looks kind of fat, but it's just all his fur that makes him look like that. I ran up to my room, did my homework in a flash and ran back down to play with Wolfgang, who was sleeping on the couch.

I frowned. "May as well finish that slushie," I said, climbing the stairs again.
