For those that like a summary - Mashing the taunt button all the time when you already have aggro is a waste of effort. Once you have aggro you should not hit taunt at all unless the mob turns from you - mashing it over and over again does not increase your aggro or help you to hold it. The wise Warrior saves the taunt button for when there is a tash/slow/cheal/etc incoming announced.
This was new to me, btw - I am a taunt masher. Not that it matters - when i am tanking the taunt button is my least capable tool for gaining/keeping aggro anyways.

Re: How to Taunt Properly
So if you're already at the top of the mob's hate list, taunt does nothing? I woulda just thought it added a bit of hate everytime. Thinking about it some, it makes sense that they would do it this way, since I'd say they'd want to make it easier for the mob to switch targets. Bastards.
