I miss it too. Been so long it's almost like a dream now. Shinny on the pond; no pants; ice fishing between periods; a 10 foot row of 50's with their little necks sticking out of the snow bank for easy access.
We should plan a get-together during Memorial Cup week. Sorry I can't make the golf tournament. If they show the final game on the big screen outside, I'd be tempted to park an old ratty Lazyboy on the court yard of the JLC and enjoy.

When I started the Voice, I'd have to think it was either the three-win season or the next year, and it was certainly my dream to see this championship day in the distance and see the hopeful flood of posts.
I think Erskinefan and others have taken that dream and pushed it forward, so it is indeed a shame that we've reached that point and no one is here to celebrate even with the swarms of Knights fans we hoped to attract virtually everywhere else on the web.
Hopefully, the loyal Knights fans will return as the hype fades and this board will find a way to survive.

With all due respect. This board is on a very slow server and is littered with popups. I use multiple popup blockers and a few still sneak through. The forum goes down a lot as well.
Other forums (such as JRA and KnightsVideos) offer reliable, fast service with NO popups. There is also additional features as well as a better private messaging system.
If this board was created way back in 97-98, then it is way past it's prime and there is newer, better technology out there.
I'm sorry but I can't see this board picking back up in the future.

The majority of the posters from here have migrated over to the forums at Knightsvideos.com knightsvideos.homeip.net/forum/ and to a lesser extent jrahockey.com www.jrahockey.com/Forums/London/Forum.html
It's sad to see this place deserted because it was the start of it all, and brought most of us together. However, as Matt eluded to, there are quicker and more reliable servers out there. The spyware and popups provided by EZboard just don't seem worth it. I'm sorry Ersk, but I think the Voice has had it's time to shine, and it's about to ride off into the sunset.
Everyone is welcome on the other boards, specifically Knights Videos. There are many sections for various topics, including a General Discussion board to talk about anything, a Roadie board to make plans, and a Knights board to talk some hockey.

I don't so much care whether people continue the Voice, though I obviously am a bit biased about what it stands for in terms of London Knights fans and Internet talk, being here before the official forum and all the others.
What I do think, is that there should be one clearinghouse of information, or one fan forum. In the past, it was this, and like the NOOF, we did a good job keeping the traffic streamlined through the Voice.
Now, there are, as you said two strong boards that are going, plus this one, plus the official, plus God knows how many other boards out there.
I think it would be better if everyone put their ego and intentions aside and came up with one place for everyone to talk Knights hockey and go there so everyone isn't searching.
If that's not this board, it would sadden me, but the technology is important (and no, it hasn't been this format since 1997-98, it has been through about 10 changes since. We brought this online probably in 2001 or so when EZ Boards was still premium technology).
I'm not sure Erskinefan feels the same way, and he's been moreso the operator here for a long, long time — but I'd love to see everyone congregate in one place.

I agree with GG's sentiments; if I thought that it would improve Knights conversation on the internet I'd close JRA in a heartbeat. I like that we have Matt's board to discuss stuff amongst ourselves like barbecues and chicken bones, but it would really be nice if there was just one high-traffic board where people could speak freely.

Each board has it's purpose , it's sad that this one has become what it is because it was a great place to come and chat about the road trips , trouble was that it didn't appear to be promoted enough. The only reason I found this board was from Erskinfans sig on the Noof , and Erskie doesn't post a heck of alot over there so it had limited exposure. This board went downhill right after the trolls started posting and harassing and nothing was done about it
The official board is a place for the "younger" hockey fan , about 10-18 year olds , and that's fine , it's a good place for them there.
The Noof is a place to share your thoughts with fans from accross the league , still some bitching but it has gotten better in that respect
Jra was a nice replacement for this board , but there has been a heck of a lot more bitching there this season then the official board ever saw.
That's why Matt's board is an excellent place to go. Yes there is a lot of personal stuff there , but Matt has a separate forum there for it so it's no big deal. There is plenty of hockey discussion there as well.
A message board on your site would be a good idea OHLAG , but turning into a Knights forum would be a complete waste of time. However putting up a forum so people can read about MORE road trips from around the league ,hotels food ,etc. More current information instead of what someone did there 3 or 4 years ago. Heck people could even talk about construction along the way. THAT would be a great addition to your site

I've had thoughts about closing JRA, mostly because most of you guys seem to have given up on it. The traffic counts have dropped and it's obviously because we can't get along with the Rangers fans (and they can't get along with us). As for the Voice, I tried to promote it for a long time by posting links on my site, other OHL sites, and the NOOF, but the fact is that people wouldn't come here because of the ads and other garbage. I like Matt's site because it's basically what the Voice used to be, and we can talk about Chicken Bones and 6tk's Swedish bath without worrying about it being cliquey - that's the point, right?
Sharing with Ranger fans probably isn't going to work forever though, at least until the rivalry cools down. I've been trying to post new topics on jra, but if you guys aren't posting, you're about 2/3 of the Knights fans on the internet, so there isn't much point in keeping it open, is there?
The Official board is still a hole.

It may be a hole but it's a hole run by a VERY generous man who donated a $300 prize to help raise money for Wellspring. Whereas it was like pulling teeth to get a sticky about it on Jra because someones nose was out of joint.

No argument from me here. After Deepal donated that money I gained a lot of respect for him. Still, I certainly hope you can understand where the problems come from, after he banned just about all of your friends for daring to ask that the place be moderated properly instead of being bunny-world.
