Insomnia (anybody!)
Ayena walked silently through the dark halls of Hogwarts. Her bare feet were cold from the stone floor. As she walked down a corridor of apparently dead torches, each lit up as she passed it, and then went out, as if it had never been. Ayena couldn't sleep. She had tossed and turned in her too-hot bed for hours, and she guessed it was about three in the morning. She had no idea where she was waking, and didn't particularly care. After the last torch of the hallway flickered and went out, Ayena was plunged into the darkness of the ancient castle. After a second of panic, she took out her wand "Lumos," she muttered, embarassed that the dark had scared her. The wand lit up, and she continued, the tiny light leading her. Ayena was tired, now, but didn't want to go back to the ravenclaw house. she decided, instead, to sit against the wall. within a minute of sitting down, she decided this place was as comfortable as any, laid down against the cool stone, and went to sleep.

Re: Insomnia (anybody!)
In the cool dark corridor lined with suits of armour and portraits of people who appeared to be in a deep slumber, a small bag was lay on it's side within a small alcove, from the outside the bag looked perfectly normal, it had two shoulder straps attached to it and a flap which covered the opening to the bag, but on the inside it was completely different, there was a stove in the corner which was accompanied by a cupboard of ingredients, a bed with a bedside table in the centre and a sink, mirror and a large dresser on the other side of the bed, this life sized room inside the small, apparently normal bag was only host to one person, a restless returnee to Hogwarts, Knolk Tank.

Knolk could not manage to get to sleep in his small bag, the excitement of being back at Hogwarts was overwhelming, so he had walked over to his sink and he stared at his self in the mirror which was hung above it, he still had done nothing about his appearance since his return to the castle, with his hair and facial hair still in a gruff state he withdrew his wand from his cloak which lay over the end of his bed, putting it to his facial hair, a blue light appeared around his head and slowly all of his untamed hair started to recess and fall to the floor, magically disappearing as it landed softly, he did this until he was satisfied with the end result.

Starring yet again into the mirror, he was surprised, a man with a thin, sophisticated look starred back at him, the years of only eating little amounts of food per day were now noticeable, with his now short hair and tamed beard, no longer hiding his face, the look was now visible; placing his wand back into his cloak, he picked it up and looked at it for a few seconds, ‘now that I’m back, maybe I can get the House Elves to try and repair my cloak’ he thought, remembering particularly memorable times that him and his cloak had been through together, it would be a shame to get rid of it, so slinging it over his shoulder, he clambered through a small hole at the end of the room onto the cool floor of the outside corridor.

Knolk stood up with the cloak still over his shoulder; he was wearing a new set of black clothing which made his lack of nutrition and surprisingly muscular body more noticeable as it hugged his figure comfortably; picking up the mysterious bag which was still on the floor, he slung one of the straps over his opposite shoulder and blindly set off down the corridor towards the grand staircase.

After a few minutes of walking his eyes had adjusted to the dark corridor and without notice, a torch in a bracket sprang to life on the wall, the bright light blinding him he stumbled forwards and tripped over something on the floor causing him to fall flat on his face, rubbing his nose he turned round to see what he tripped over and the torch went out, “Ruddy torch” he muttered, sitting on the floor and rubbing his nose still.

Re: Insomnia (anybody!)
Ayena was rudely "Kind of awakened" by one of the torches near her flaring into life. Then she was very abruptly brought to full and bruised wakefulness by somebody tripping over her.

"Ow." She said, unable to convey any emotion this close waking up, and even less able to feel anything, pain least of all. With some effort, she sat up, her long hair clinging to the bricks of the wall. She saw a dark figure against the less dark corridor, but everyting was blurred. She groaned and groped for her glasses in the dark. While she did so, she said "Hullo" to the dark outline of a person, hoping dearly that person was both human and not teacher.

A drop of blood dripped out of Knolk’s nose and it crashed on to the back of his hand, quickly pulling out his wand he tapped his nose, doing a bit of make-shift-healing, knowing that he would have to tend to it later he pointed his wand into the darkness as he heard a sound come from where he had tripped followed by a drowsy sounding voice, “Lumos” Knolk said, squinting his eyes slightly as light burst out from his wand tip, opening his eyes a little bit more he saw the thing that he had tripped over was actually a girl, smiling bashfully he pointed his wand light away from her face, “Hi… sorry about tripping over you, but the torch caught me off guard… and I wasn’t expecting someone to be sitting in the corridor, I didn’t hurt you did I?” Knolk was truly sorry as he spoke and really hoped that he hadn’t hurt the girl.

As the human not teacher's wand lit up, Ayena immediately found her glasses against against the wall. She put them on, saying

"Nah, I'm okay. You just suprised me is all."

She looked at him, and immediately hoped that her hair was saying "I just got out of bed and i look good", Instead of its normal "I Just got out of bed and I look like i just got out of bed." , especially while accompanied by flannel plaid pants and an ancient, too small rolling stones t-shirt that she got when she was six years old.

Upon closer inspection of the boy, she saw the blood on his hand and face. She gasped. "You're hurt! I'm sorry, I just couldn't sleep and i was walking and its colder down here and....are you okay? Those stupid torches are a pain, huh? Um, literally"

Ayena mentally reminded herself to stop making jokes about blood. Then she mentally hit herself for makinf jokes about blood.

Knolk continued to smile putting his mangled cloak and bag into a heap next to him, “I’m ok” he said noticing the girl seemed to feel responsible for his nose and wanting to do something about it he pointed his wand at the torch in it’s bracket, “Nox” the light at the end of his wand was extinguished and through the dark came his voice again “Incindio”, a small fire ball burst from the end of his wand, hitting the torch on the wall, causing the corridor to spring into life as the light seeped into every nook and cranny around them; Knolk wiped the blood on his face and hand onto his cloak and had a look at the girl he had tripped over who seemed like she was ready for bed, “my name is Knolk Tank, Gryffindor, I have just returned here from a trip for the Ministry of Magic” he told the girl, after an awkward silence he decided to break the tense atmosphere “did you get lost trying to find your dormitory?” he joked seen as she was apparently asleep on the floor.

"No, I didn't get lost. I just couldn't sleep." Said Ayena indginantly, running her fingers through the tangled mess of black hair on her head. "A trip for the Minstry of Magic? You're a student, right? That's almost as unusual as your name." Said Ayena, trying to change the subject.

"I shouldn't talk though. My name's weirder. Ayena is some burnt witch's name, and a crow is a mite-infested, disease-spreading, carrion-eating blackbird, in case you didn't know that. Even weirder is that my mom's last name is Smith, and she's a muggle." She smiled, having told that joke dozens of times and had usually gotten odd looks and nervous laughs.

"Dad's another story, though." She said, fingering the silver raven pendant on her necklace and looking away. Needless to say, I'm a Ravenclaw.
