Nelly is singing for Portugal for Euro 2004 (Football) , she is singing in the opening ceremony the song Forca. This was in the papers a few months ago, she has never been associated with Eurovision as yet.

Would be good if Portugal did use her tho next year, they might get through then. Lots of countries are using their big stars. Ukraine's entry is using their biggest selling artist Ruslana who is the only act to sell a platinum album in that country. Israel, Finland and Turkey entries also feature acts that are hugely successful in their own country, while France , Spain and Germany (I believe) are using Pop Idol show contestants. Cyprus and Malta are using classically trained singers., and Sakis from Greece is known across most of Europe as a performer so is going to get a lot of votes regardless.

I think there are comparitively few non names compared to previous year, lots of countries seem to be putting acts who are already pretty successful and therefore more likely to be confident on stage.
